Endling - Extinction is Forever

Its a sad and short cute story just be prepared to cry at the End.

This story tore my heart to shreds. The ending had me crying like a baby. The main gameplay is getting food for your foxes in time so they don't starve to death and teaching them the skills they need to survive. The graphics are beautiful. My rate is 10 / 10 foxes + one more.

Made me cry at the end. 15/10 would play again.

Not great. I didn't consider it worth my time on completion and it is incredibly overpriced for what it is, and I do not mean based on time to beat. It goes for an emotional impact that just falls flat. For $5, maybe it will be worth it, but honestly I would have the same view if I had received it for free.

I've finished the game and it's not for the faint hearted, but the animations are beautiful and I love the character designs. JUST BE PREPARED TO CRY!!!! Definently will be playing again!!

A short game with a consistent and pertinent theme about our world.

I love this gameplay and the story is good too.

So I just finished this game... before anyone buys it, it is NOT a cutesy game. I did everything right and kept all my pups alive and still sobbed at the ending.

i think this game is either about furries or is an in depth political statement on human pollution, global warming, deforestation, and human effects on ecosystems. i still don't know which though.

Considering this is a "silent" game without dialogues and grand cutscenes, it continuously succeeds at evoking strong emotions.

The ending of the Endling hits hard and delivers a clear message which we all would love to keep on ignoring.

VERY SAD

A beautiful and terrible tale. The artwork and acoustics were stunning and the developing storyline hung together well. There were quite a few frustrating times though when symbols would indicate something to do but no explanation what, so a bit more guidance would have helped keep me in the game rather than bashing buttons to no effect. Hopefully the second play through will be smoother.

This is a beautiful piece of art that i enjoyed every moment of, and that made me feel many strong emotions as all good games should. It holds a powerful message, a heart-wrenching story, beautiful art and animation, remarkable worldbuilding, expert emotional music and sound design, and gameplay that is, in my opinion, the perfect mix of easy and challenging to make the game engaging but stay as a secondary mechanic and let the story shine. I was screaming and cussing the whole time i played the game and had to take multiple breaks to calm myself from the intense emotions it made me feel, which is an experience i haven't had in a long time from a game. I truly have nothing but respect and admiration for the astounding team that put this masterful experience together and tip my hat to all who contributed to it. Thank you for making this and sharing it with the world.

This game has a really important message to share with the world, and it does it so well. This game's visuals, soundtrack, and gameplay are all amazing. I finished the game with all four cubs, I think thats good for my first playthrough. If you're thinking of buying this game, defenitly do. It is 100% worth the short amount of time you spend playing it. 10/10, enjoy!

Got me so emotionally invested I cried. Multiple times. Despite everything, there are still kind people.

This game is so peaceful and well-rounded. It has good re-playability. I'm playing it for a third time so I can get a better ending with the badger.

I had no crashing issues that other reviews describe. Not sure if it was patched or if it's hardware specific.

Ooof, it's a total cry fest if I'm being honest. Although 4 hours is a bit short for a the amount I paid. But I would say it would be definitely worth it if there's an ongoing sale. I didn't encounter any bugs or stutters at all in the 4 hours I played.

P.S if you are playing this please sit with a box of tissues.

If I were to have any complaints, its how arbitrary and missable cub skills are. It would be nice if there was better signposting/design to lead you to skills. Two are 'on the way' to a Stroy Event thing but the others arent.

Endling - Extinction is Forever is one of the best games iv'e played. It's graphics are amazing, it's story feels so real, and it's so true that we should never forget extinction is forever. You should make a second one where you can play as one of the fox kits as a grown fox as she travels in a broken world where extinction is just around the corner.

First of all, oh my god this game is so good, like this game made me cry so hard. Also, from start to end I felt like I got more then I asked out of a game, 11/10, and that ending, Oh MY God that ending.

I had a lot of fun playing it even if I sometimes got pissed when I died a few times in a row/ when a cub died of hunger and I restarted haha
I will play again and try to 100% it ( as soon as I'll recover from my first playthrough that left me heartbroken

I was going to delete it as I died in the first 15 minutes. But after a month picked it up again and finished it. I wouldn't say it's amazing, but it's good. bit of a WTF at the end, when it finally comes, not like you knew what was going to happen or when.

The constant tension, fear and pressure of trying to save your family from the rotting corpse of a beautiful planet, torn apart by animals capable of so much destruction, is heart breaking.

And this story will happen again, and again, and again, to all of us if things don't change. How lucky to be the ones who will get tobury their parents, rather than those who will bury their children

Pretty cool game, it has a vibe, it has a exploring chill kinda vibe, liked "the story", nice concept of the game too, in promotion this game is tottaly worth it if you are not only super high paced games player.

The game title and the theme of the game speak truth: Extinction is forever. Cherish the beautiful wildlife you come across in your life, take the time to observe nature and learn about it, it will not be around forever. You are lucky to see those robins, those bilbies, those foxes, those owls, those snakes, those frogs.

Edit: Now that I've finished the game, I definitely see why it got the award. This game had a profound impact on me as an ecologist in training and I recommend it plain and simple.

After the ending, I sat silently in my chair for a while. There was not much I could say as I felt empty inside. So I stood up, walked up to my plush fox, grabbed it, hugged it and said: sorry.

Very nice simple game. The idea stems from the ecological impact we make. A pleasing artstyle shows the beauty of nature before human invasion in contrast with the mess after. The whole area changes dramatically with each day you manage to survive. The things that happen in some human-made locations are kinda brutal (poor chicks).
Everything works good and in sync with other parts, technically it's a very solid product. I only found the gameplay a bit too simple and some days lacking on events, the game could be a little shorter. And I had 2 bugs where a little bro couldn't move through some intersections, not a big deal.

This game is amazing. It shows how badly we are affecting the environment, it shows the cruelty of life, and best of all, you get to be a fox! go pet those pups, teach them to climb and hunt, and save your little one!

This is an amazing game. It really touches the heart and if gives a good message. The whole time I was playing I was moved with how much work went into the making of this game.
