bro this got me even more down because my fish died today and then the fox mom dying at the end anyways its a good game that should have a sequel plz make a sequel that let's you play as the fox cub's plz i'm beggin you plz make a sequel i was so mad when i beat it cuz i thought there was more and also it took me only 2 days plz make a sequel or im going to cry

A beautiful and sad game. I wanted to explore the world more thoroughly but the cubs came first.
For me it reiterates themes that I already hold dear. Humans have the capability for immense harm. We can choose to be better than that.

Such a beautiful game with a really touching story and interesting gameplay mechanics. I've never played a side-scroller quite like this, the gameplay feels fresh every single day, I managed to beat the game without loosing a single cub, you get really attached to them. I highly reccomend giving it a go and supporting these talented developers! Looking forward to whatever they make next :D

Gut-wrenching and adorable. I wish there was a happy ending to their story, but I understand the creative choices made here. A wonderful wordless story with mechanics that engage. Everyone should play this through once.

Each time you go through it, you'll probably notice more and more details, there isn't just one story going on, each little guy you come across has a story. The visuals are amazing.
I've been wanting to play this game since release, and just haven't gotten round to it until now, and i'm so glad i finally played it.

nothing is more heartbreaking then watching a species go extinct, and to have it done in this format is like a taking a brick to the face.
the story is absolutely amazing, and i love the interactions you can have with your cubs! 10/10 game, will play again

Endling - Extinction is Forever is a beautiful game and I am not talking about the visuals.
Listen, it is a sad game but it depends on your perspective. That is the case with most things in life of course.
It was an emotional journey for me, the whole range of emotions but that is a very personal thing. Deeply connected with the story....not much else to say really.
The story is told through the game play and few cut scenes. It is a short game but it is well structured. I can see how the game play loop may turn some people off, I almost uninstalled this game but after giving it a chance I really liked it.
It is a day and night thing where you have to eat and explore during the day and get your cubs to a lair before the night.
Now, I don't like when the game tells me the rules, I like to explore and challenge the game's rules, I played through this game twice, first time for the story and the second time was to find as much about the game and the game world.
Without spoiling things I can say that I found some very interesting stuff while I was sniffing around. The exploration is rewarding in many ways. You can find new abilities for your cubs, you can witness many events (that are not main story related) while exploring and you can stay awake during the night to see how dangerous the world becomes. The day is very short and I would say that it is not long enough to do even the basic things. This is not a criticism, I liked the short day thing.
It is not a hard game but it can be stressful at times. You are a fox with 4 cubs in a hostile world so the stress should play a large part in my opinion. I think these is nothing wrong with the game play loop but I can see how some players might find it boring. I am not in that camp, liked the game play as simple as it is.
The music is great and it elevates the atmosphere. Sound design is just ok, could be better in some aspects.
Is it a flawless game...of course it is not. You are playing in a 2.5D (mostly 2D) perspective and some camera angles are awful, really hard to see anything. You can move the camera a bit to your left and right and even zoom in but even that doesn't excuse some awful fixed camera angles that you can't control. There were also some bugs, one time I got stuck in the terrain and had to restart the game and I had to do the same for one story mission because the event refused to load. This is not a 3D open world so these kind of bugs should be fixed.
The game is over priced so wait for a discount or some future bundle.
This is a beautiful game with great music and heartwarming/heartbreaking story. It is pleasant surprise for sure so I strongly recommend this. If you liked games like Flower, GRIS, ABZU etc there is a big chance you might like Endling - Extinction is Forever.

It was the best and most emotional game I ever played, if you like sad emotional games this one is for you.

Extremely good, and emotional, also has a good message that:We need to save the wildlife before it's to late. I defintely recommend this, although it's not for the faint hearted (Has made me cry and I haven't even finished it ._.) Edit:Finished it, still sad

I have nothing bad to say to this game, the gameplay isn't hard, the artsytle is awesome and it definetly was worth buying.
It's the perfect game to spread awareness to what will happen with the world if we don't stop this bs.

I highly recommend this game, it is fun to play, the art style is adorable, and its just wonderful. My only wish is that the game contiuned on from the end. Maybe playing as an adult pup? Maybe thats too much work... Still recommended!!

This game is so much more than its very simple mechanics and objective. The ending fucked me up pretty good, ugly cried quite a bit. It's one of those games that will stick with you for a while after you finish it.

I'm also very curious about the other endings but don't think I liked the repetitive grind of keeping my cubs alive while teaching them new skills enough to spend another 4-5h on this.

I'll come back when i can put what i'm feeling into words. bravo.

Honestly super lazy story telling imo. You'll complete the game in 3-4 hours, the world is beautiful though and I feel that the story is really told there! And it's such a shame that they ruin it by doing absolutely poor story telling with the humans and forcing that...

Ending
They fake your death to pull on your heart strings and then you are relieved you're alive! And then they 180 1 minute later and kill you again for real. The whole story felt like it was the environment that told it and they could have easily had the ending with you surviving and showing the destruction of the world and your struggle.

But no... Same old "Oh they like the character, just kill it" the story is over, I loved the environmental story telling, I loved the journey... The actual story was... not great, but it was okay, the world made up for it and then they force that death.

The 3d artist made this game, and the environmental design made this game, but whoever was writing the plot and etc ruined it.

Also a 3 hour game costing just shy of £30 is insane

I can not recommend this game enough! its not a cute game you should take lightly. It brings awareness and it's necessary for people to understand the meaning. Easily added to my list of my favorite games this topic is very important to me , thank you Devs for giving life to such a gem! "Nature will survive us in the end"

Very heartful and engaging survival/exploration game. A touching story about parents and their love for their children, but also global environmental issues.

holy hell this game broke my heart. very emotional game - tension of survival + many many little moments of sadness/tugged heartstrings + little bits of joy/comfort throughout. there's some puzzle aspects to it as well because you can take a bunch of different paths and learn new things (and face consequences for certain decisions). there's a couple different endings i think, depending on what you do. for having no dialogue for the human characters, the body/shape language and sounds do a fantastic job filling in. the character designs are beautiful and very succinct, and the art style is incredible. i really enjoyed the mechanics, they're a little weird at first but so simple that there's not much of a learning curve, and once you get the hang of it it's really fun. there is a map feature and it is there for a reason - use it, it will make your life a million times easier. the soundtrack! oh the soundtrack is everything. i have literally nothing more to say about it except that i stopped hunting several times when the singing was playing just to stand and listen to it. there's so many little details in the art and your environment too, and it changes overtime as the story progresses, so it feels very real and sort of minute, for lack of a better word.

100/10 recommend highly, it will probably make you cry at least a little.

Amazing game, I've played it twice, started with cry, ended with cry both times. So simple yet so complex.
It is a very heavy topic what they managed to make a game out of it to hit us surely hard.
If the devs tune on the voice and make them more fox cry less dog bark, it will become absolute perfection.

Opens game, I enjoy game, Child gets taken, have emotional break down, continues game, get my heart ripped and stomped by the beautiful and heartwrenching story, complete game, cry for 20 miniutes over this fox, and repeat.

Tells two stories in different ways. The fox family you play as and then the story of two humans as you chase them! I enjoyed how the humans are portrayed as the enemy, but at the end it makes you think and notice that this is more telling about how both species are really just trying to survive, and since humans are complex when it comes to needing stuff for surviving it always affects the wildlife that also just wants to survive :(. Both stories are equally tragic. first off all you're trying to do is take care of your family, and get your cub back. then there's the father who stole your cub all so he could get your pelt and sell you for money, most likely to buy medication for his ill daughter. unfortunately the daughter dies which makes the father commit suicide, after that you also die at the end because another human noticed and wanted your pelt so he chased you. So you end up dying and leaving your cubs to fend for themselves

A very, very pretty game with a touchingly deep message. I saw this game a few years ago when it was nominated at the 2022 Game Awards and it was sitting on my wish list for a while... I bought it on sale, but I honestly recommend buying it at full price! The art design is very cute, the music is impactful, and the game's ability to tell a story with no dialogue is very strong. I will say... be prepared to shed a few tears at least once by the end of the game!

Its a sad and short cute story just be prepared to cry at the End.

This story tore my heart to shreds. The ending had me crying like a baby. The main gameplay is getting food for your foxes in time so they don't starve to death and teaching them the skills they need to survive. The graphics are beautiful. My rate is 10 / 10 foxes + one more.

Made me cry at the end. 15/10 would play again.
