This is a VR version of my game Ding Dong XL. This is my first Virtual Reality game so please let me know if there are issues or concerns and I will do my best to address them ASAP. Please expect 'Ding Dong VR' to be a small, re-playable, arcade score-chaser game where the only basic goals are to constantly beat your previous score and unlock a handful of cosmetic skins for the character. This VR version adds 3D depth and effects to make it more immersive while retaining the same one button arcade pace of the non-VR version.
Average time users played non-VR Ding Dong is approx 45-90 minutes

Ding and Dong between the top and bottom of the screen as you attempt to avoid obstacles, collect points, and smash helpful power-ups. Try to survive as long as you can!
Pressing the boost button allows you to cross the screen from top to bottom or vice-versa. Wait for the proper timing and try to not hit enemies. Easy one button control with Oculus Touch Controller, HTC Vive Controller, Xbox Gamepad, or the Keyboard.
- Easy to learn, simple controls on Oculus or Vive Controllers, keyboard, or gamepad
- VR unique effects throughout including: 3D Depth, Explosions, particles flying at the screen and Menus navigable by pointing
- Sitting down or standing VR makes it very comfortable for most users to play
- An endless, fast paced and challenging arcade style game play that constantly gets harder
- Unlock a handful of unique cosmetic skins for your player, including some from other Nickervision Studios games
- 'Close Call' system that awards extra points for extremely close calls with obstacles.
- Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud, Leader board
- The in game audio/SFX was provided by my mouth making noises into a crumby consumer mic and some royalty free SFX from FreeSFX.
- In game song / loops are Difourks - "It's Complextro & Dance"

Had very nice visuals, and it was fun to play through. You could also play this one on keyboard and mouse, which beats even buying the original and just having this one instead. I got 100% in less than an hour.
I really should give this game a thumbs down. Even at $3 USD this game is really really short on content and control, the sort of game you would play for only a few minutes at a time. But those few minutes are SO MUCH FUN!
It's snack game to open all achievements. I did in 69 minutes but it was fun. If you more indie reviews, visit our curator :)

This game is like crack. You just can't stop. But I was lucky because the battery of my Quest 2 was depleted.
Ive been looking for a game as simple as this one on VR. Arcade style, short and sweet, addictive. Nice.
Put as free because I refunded after getting 100% in the game. Good game, nice port of the original. Visuals are stunning, remind me a little bit of Tetris Effect. We need more small arcade style games like this to be brought to VR. Definitely worth the pickup.
This is one of my favorite VR games. I played the original version of Ding Dong after I played this one, and while it's still a great game, it really pales in comparison. This shows just what VR can add to a game.
I only wish the rest of the Adamvision games would get the VR treatment...
A simple yet satisfying game well worth the $3 but even better when its on sale for 50 cents.

- This game does not need vr, it would be a good game without vr, vr seams to be slapped on only to heve it.
A great game both in challenge and aesthetics. For those wanting a seated experience that you can pick up and play anytime, this works well. A visual treat with addictive yet simple gameplay.
Good game, and excellent value if you happen to grab it at 2 bucks, tho I have to say it is very short (It took 50 mins to complete all achievements) it is great when you're just looking for a fun, short and quite colorful game, I see it also being one of the games I'd be showing my friends and family that are just trying VR for the first time as it's very comfortable to play and the explosions look great.

Surprisingly addictive gameplay. I enjoyed the developer's other game OrbtXL and thought I'd give this VR game a go since it looked like it had a similar type of easy to pick up, hard to master arcade-style action. You play the game on a floating rectangular screen in front of you, but I found it stood out from other VR games that try to use the same dynamic in that
it makes you feel like you're immersed in this floating, ethereal arcade vs stiltedly watching a static screen in front of you. The dimensional particle effects and small attention to detail in the minimalistic environment definitely help out in achieving this. Would recommend for a quick pick up game to add to your VR arcade library.
Do you need something to play for 5-10 minutes just for fun? This is the game for you! It isn't deep or complex and you probably won't play it for hours at a time, but sometimes, you just want to kill a few minutes with an early 80s style game.
This is a great little game to let people slowly into VR or to just sit and relax with after a longer session.
There's not much to it but it looks nice and is quite addictive. For a game I got on sale for less than the price of a can of Coke, it's amazing. Even at full price it's less than a Coke at the bar!
I think there could easily be a bit more:
- The specials could be earned rather than just random maybe by getting close to the various shaped objects.
- Harder levels
- the safe points move left/right
- the board could be curved toward and/or away from you
- slope the board so objects accelerate and decelerate depending on their direction or have parabolic paths
- Different noises and deaths depending on the skin you use
- Where's Yin / Yang?
Overall it's a well polished game at a very reasonable price.
If the dev is reading this - what a fun game! Sure, it is a "casual game". But the graphics are fun and the gameplay is good. I really hope you give the VR treatment to a few of your games!
Not worth setting up the goggles just to play this, but when you are allready in VR its a good game to waste few minutes.
Having played the original Ding Dong (as a not particularly gifted player), I expected something similar from Ding Dong VR. Boy, was I EVER wrong......
Ding Dong VR is like playing the original game while standing in the midst of a 3D IMAX screen! While failures should traditionally be frustrating and dissapointing, Ding Dong VR's failures are color and explosion extravagamzas, very much a show in themselves. Hopefully, there will be additinal instances of arcade / puzzle games with moderately simply graphics being released in VR format. Games like Ding Dong VR should go far toward showing just how effective that can be.
As a disabled gamer, I doubt this game could possibly be more accessible. (THANKS!!!)

Got it on Sale and have spent half an hour. Probably will play once in a while. I think it is fun for what it is and the VR implementation was well done. I am glad the developer didn't try to do unnecessary things like put in motion control for no real reason. I am excited to see if they will be bringing more 2D games into VR for seated gameplay.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Keyboard and Mouse
Well, there's not much to review here. This game is exactly what it looks like. I don't think there's any point to using motion controls with the one button push to play the game (spacebar). The gameplay video speaks for itself.
The question is does VR really bring anything to this game? I don't think so, it's not Tetris Effect. At the end of the day you're playing what's basically a 2D game in VR even though there is some minor 3D effects, it's not anything that pops or blows you away or even is intriguing to look at. I would say it probably looks marginally better in VR than desktop.
However, it's a nice time waster in VR. I only paid .89 cents for it on the Steam Fall Sale. It's good for what it is, but I can't see myself spending $3 USD for it. I doubt I'll want to play this more than a total of 60 minutes ever.
Sale Price Rating 6/10. Normal Price Rating 4.5/10.
This is an excellent fun game. If you like Rez Infinite VR Area X, Lightbreaker Ultimate VR, or Ding Dong XL, you will enjoy this game. There is a big problem with Steam Achievements though.
Oculus users, to work around the problem, start the game from Oculus Home.
VIVE and Mixed Reality users, hold on until you get a patch from the developer.
Developers, there is severe bug with Steam Achievements. I suggest that you disable all Steam Achievements until the bug is fixed. Please test play the game from the shortcut installed by Steam. Once you get the first achievement, you will see how it blocks the view--rendering the game unplayable.

Tons of fun and fully immersive, I have yet to play an arcade VR game that retains that classic feel, game to game but this does it in spades!
Learning to play is easy but quickly ramps up the challenge as you progress. My favourite thing is the score balance. It has a high score that you want to beat in the next session but you can also improve your time through reaction speed even for your first point you earn. This makes it work beautifully for replayability and changing the rest of that current session.
Great mix in design/balance that speed runners and casual arcade gamers could get similar enjoyment out of this one, its also at a great price to just check and see, maybe its your cup of tea.
