spooky
Takes about 30 mins to complete. Somehow manages to ramp up the tension despite looking like an early PS1 game. Helps to play late at night. Fun short horror thing.
Wow, one of the best horror games I've experienced that does an excellent job conveying going batshit crazy purely through the interactions/gameplay. Fantastic mood and tense atmosphere. I can't believe I'm only just now finding this gem.
The first half of the game was like "WEEE" but the second half was like "EWWW". Thanks tho, it gave me the chills.
Pay 79p (or your regional equivalent) to experience severe anxiety. If this is what you want then make sure to use headphones, and have no distractions etc.
the game reminds me of my psychotic phases ...
A surprisingly unnerving title, mostly on account of its clever use of audio and P.T.-style surprises where the room changes when you're not looking. The bit where you're walking between beacons drags a bit but the final sequence is great. Definitely give it a shot!
Great audio. Set a half hour to play this game with all your attention, and just go along for the ride. One year later I still think about this game.
Short and sweet horror.
It's less than an hour but it is made of solid anxiety. It builds atmosphere well and doesn't relent. Would love to see more of this type of horror. The fact the majority took place in a bedroom that starts normally and rapidly goes to hell was an excellent choice of setting. I screamed more than once. Recommended!
For $1, this game is extremely well designed. Admittedly, the experience feels a bit shallow, but in the moment, it will leave you with piercing anxiety. It's worth playing. After all, it's just an hour.
I really like this game. The atmosphere is really tense and the game doesn't rely on jumpscares, instead it relies on making you feel a sense of dread by attacking you constantly with loud sounds and words/phrases that may or may not make sense but are certainly unsettling. Gameplay is extremely straightforward. Most of the game consists of just clicking on things to progress until close to the end where you will need to follow a path and avoid enemies.
Overall it is a very fun experience for $1.

This may be the most boring game I've ever played all the way through.
For the first 15 minutes of the game, you're locked in a room with 7 things to click on. When you click on a thing, a message appears (usually something nonsensical, possibly in broken English). After you've clicked on all the things, you twiddle your thumbs for a while because the events appear to be timed. After the event happens (usually a sound, or a small change to the environment, or sometimes what looks like an enemy from Space Invaders flashes on your screen), you go back to clicking things in the room. Repeat ad nauseam.
For the next 10 minutes, you walk in a straight line very slowly while literally nothing else happens.
I won't spoil the final 5 minutes for anyone who actually cares, but it involves a lot of ear bleeding. The game takes a total of 30 minutes to beat.
Overall, I think even fans of horror games will find this painfully boring. Look elsewhere.

Bit too delirious & "glitch style" for my liking. First Winter is a better choice. Still, at this price, may as well add to cart sometime & have a look anyway.

In an 8-bit monochrome world, you appear to awake in a hotel room. The game involves moving in a 3D space and clicking on the environment in certain ways at certain times to move the story forward. The story is very dark and overtly disturbing and pulls you in to a short tale of darkness, despair and futility. A tangible narrative emerges from this abstract universe and it leaves you spooked without any cliched jumpscares. Its ambiguity does leave you wondering how well you did during a game, but there's enough of a palpable progression to be found as you progress from apparent victim to victor.

Summary

An intriguing puzzler that maintains a taut suspense throughout. Recommended.
Pros:
- compelling and immersive
- attactive art-style
- the story is there to be found, and it is disturbing
Cons:
- it can be too abstract, resulting in random clicking to progress
- do you ever know how well you did?
- perhaps a little too esoteric for everyone's tastes

it was an OK short horror experiemence i recommend this if you are bored and have small amount of money
"Do not approach objects that cause you anxiety," is one of the recommendations on the Steam Store Page of EW/WE. Unbeknownst to the developer and publisher, Date/Time, everything causes me anxiety - HA HA! Contrary to another of their recommendations, I will not avoid them. I will not lie, or go to sleep! For Death is only the beginning.
A 30-minute panic where your vision gets checkboard and you begin to crawl. This game surgically implants you into a claustrophobic atmosphere where everything causes you anxiety. EW/WE assaults your senses with unpredictable flashes of text, cringe-inducing sound, and an enigmatic story. The gameplay features a crawling simulator with point-and-click mechanics.
You check the closet, you look outside, you try the door knob, you che -- the phone rings! You pick up: silence. You contemplate sleep, maybe you should lie down. No, you check the closet, you look outside, you try the do - is that a hole in the wall? Wait, did you hear that? You check the closet one more time. Click, clack, point, click, clitcky-clackity they are coming. When? Soon. Why? Because they're hungry.
You must play with headphones, otherwise you will fail to immerse in the pixelated atmosphere, and you would overall be doing yourself a disservice. To some extent, this is IAMSCARED's bastard son and brother of dead_file.exe: a high fever dream with general anxiety disorder and bipolar episodes.
I'm not sure what I just played, but I know I liked it. This is a short, mysterious pixelated horror game that I would suggest checking out.
This was an okay game. The first phase really highlighted that tension building and adrenaline pumping does not rely on life-like graphics and jump scares. The audio was used paticularly well, better than the visual aspect, but due to the disconnect between you as the player and the character in the game, there's nothing to immerse you in the experience itself.
There's a phase to the game where you're wandering in the dark, but it's poorly executed in the sense that there's no real consequence for loosing your way, and the 'HUNTER' is no longer frightening.
The final part of the game (keeping in mind that this is a 45 minute game) could be interesting, but as it's fast paced it offers very little perspective to what's been happening through the 'dream' and could have taken the story aspect to a higher level if it did more to inform the player.
Over all, the game itself is a clever proof of concept, and I genuinley hope the developer keeps on making games. Despite how basic this is, it shows that the basics of horror gaming are understood.
All that being said there is one major flaw with this game that means I'm not recommending it. It won't stop running - I've tried going through task manager, clsoing and opening steam, signing out and then back in again, but the game simply states it's running and wont allow me to unistall it or play other games. So get that fixed, and I'll change this to a recommendation.
I'm off to restart my PC.
This game is an amazing example how someone can take one surrounding and twist it to its fullest potential. This game uses the same resources in various ways to create a dark/uncomfortable atmosphere. This game is definately worth a play if you're looking for a short but worthy spook.
My play through: https://youtu.be/iEvIRx4my8o
This game was more terrefying than I thought it would be for a 1 dollar game and also much longer than I thought it would be. Not super long though like about 30 - 45 mins for me. I say it is definely worth it to play this game for yourself if you want a spooky game to play
As always you can judge for youself here is a taste of the gameplay
