Features
A Choice to Make Vincent’s heart is torn between two women. On one side sits Katherine, the girl who intends to wed Vincent someday. On the other, Catherine, who appeared out of nowhere. Both of them pull at his heart and soul… The story can take many paths, and the outcome of this romantic horror tale can go to unimaginable places.
Nightmarish Puzzles Move the blocks to create a path and climb a nightmarish tower while fleeing from the monsters chasing you. The lowest levels of blocks fall as time passes. If you’re not constantly moving, you’ll fall with them. There’s no time to waste!
The setting changes each night, rising higher and higher into the heavens. The more stages Vincent overcomes, the more complex the strategies required to progress will become.
Various obstacles impede Vincent’s path. Some blocks are traps, waiting to skewer unwary climbers. Others explode, damaging everything around them. The sheep in the nightmare are desperate to survive until morning, too. They’ll get in your way, mess up your blocks, or even try to shove you off. You’ll need your wits and the help of strange items that can deal with the sheep, remove hazards or create new paths if you want to reach the top!

This game was great until the last few levels. For one, an escort mission should never be thrown in randomly. It's bad and feels bad to lose progress due to an NPC getting themselves killed.
Other than that, good game. Story is interesting.
Its A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE for those who was actually in a long term relationship.
Story provides you with a genuane reality of those relationship, and what hardships you would face on the road. I like, that there is no "right" or "wrong" because in the end, it depends only on you what you want from this life.
Vincent is a relateble character, you can feel his strugless of life, and why exacly he "thinks" about cheating. All endings conclude the story in statisfying, and most importantly logical way. The whole plot twist with "khm khm" was incredible, never seen this coming, and this was really great.
Gameplay is as close as we probably will get to "puzzle heaven" if i can use this term, in range of "oh this seems ok" to "oh my god please stop this nightmare" thanks to all youtube videos who provided me with knowlege to beat this shi*
Art is good, nothing i can say bad about that.

My game crashed when I got to the story after the baby boss. Before that, I was able to start the game only after I switched users on my computer. I have been struggling with starting the game for a year until I came up with this dumb solution
I thought Souls-like games are made for people to measure their level of patience, but this fricking game gets you into another level. I had hard times to not scream out of anger but still a good game cause I like to torture myself 💯
Repetitive, RNG, timing, trial and error puzzles all the sins you can include in a puzzle game are here.
Also the game prety early reveals their hand in the fact that you can't climb x higher without standing on x-1 blocks.
Played it for many more hours than listed on pS3 and on PC offline. The game play is addictive most of the time. The story is very mid. It tries too hard to be philosophical and it's openly right bigoted towards trans people. If I could have the game without bigotry and sophistry I'd be glad to give it a thumbs up.
Game wont't launch on newer computers. If you run the exe file in windows 95 compatibility mode, it will make it past the steam launch window. If you play it with the settings default, it will crash in the first cutscene, if you play with the bloom and blur off it will only crash on you in the middle of levels. I've watched and replayed the first level at least 5 times with it crashing every time and no longer care to even play this anymore. I've been excited to try this for a while, don't waste your money (even on sale like i got it) on this version unless the devs actually make it playable
Very simple but effective puzzle game, that has an interesting and engaging story.

This is a good puzzle game. I will not, however, be playing it any more. 20 tries on the same level with zero time to plan ahead or figure out what to do next - I'm good. I'll YouTube the rest of the story. Just not quick enough on my feet to figure it out. The learning curve to this is HIGH. The difficulty spikes (yes, plural) are HIGH. And I'm not ashamed to admit I was on easy mode. 20 tries! Easy Mode! If you like that sort of thing, this is the game for you. I won't give it a bad review because I'm not smart enough, but fair warning to everyone else.
Catherine is an immensely satisfying puzzle game with light visual novel elements.
The 1v1 Vs. Mode is also incredible. Check out @ClimbCancel on Twitter (or the Competitve Catherine Discord) for more information on how to knock friends and strangers' blocks off. Knock them off their blocks? One of those.
Baiting players with promises of nudity and sexual content to lock them up in hell and force to solve 3D puzzles under time pressure.

Set in the same universe as the Persona series, the game highlights a more mature cast with a welcome change of focus to more adult issues such as relationships, commitment, and responsibility. That's welcome to me, as the high school trope is beyond overdone.
As a puzzle game it's engaging, and the mini game within provides a slower more strategic version of the main quests puzzles. Forces quick thinking, without ever being cheap in the main story.
The nightmares really do feel like nightmares and they are sprinkled in perfectly to dilute the story and keep you longing

This game holds up so well. Excellent art, music, and style. It can be tough to get the patterns and rhythm of the game down, but when you do it is extremely satisfying. The story is great, I personally connected with Vincent and I think most people will find something they can relate to as well. Seriously consider snagging this game it's maybe a 10-20 hour game but with great replayability and wayyy more content if you want to go past the surface level. Seriously, you could spend another 20 hours just playing Rapunzel. Keep climbing, Vincent.
This game is a masterpiece
Game is literally unplayable. Do not buy. It crashes all the time and the solutions posted here do not help at all. Cannot even make it past the first level without it crashing somewhere. How people have actually played this game on here is beyond me. Just get a PS3 and play the classic on there, if its a game you really want to play. (Which I reccommend) or you can get the Catherine Full body Version on PS4 Just not this crappy port that has not even had an update since 2019.Literally so dissappointed as I really wanted to play this game again but on steam.
Very good game with really fun gameplay. The chracters are fun, the gameplay is fun. You can't go wrong.
A pretty good short experience (~10h) with a lot of replayability due to multiple endings (10). The game tackles subjects like adulthood, taking responsibility, relationships, and alcoholism in a pretty unique but believable way. If you like puzzle games, you should consider getting this game.

TIMELESS FUN never ending options for beating the levels with a story packed with twists that change based on what you choose to do.
This game is legitimately more nerve racking than any horror related media I've ever seen.
Game kept crashing at the very last boss, demuzid I think. So I did it 3 more times with more crashing, and then I just watched the ending on youtube and reinstalled. Then it.. worked?? silly game, def deserves the $5 price, else I'd return.

Good game overall. Basically a puzzle game with a anime built in. The characters are actually pretty entertaining and decently written. The MC can be a little annoying sometimes though and probably alittle dumb. This game has a steep learning curve, so I actually recommend playing on easy if you are having a tough time on normal. There is also a secret "very easy" mode but I haven't tried it myself. The puzzle game aspect is pretty good, but on normal mode is just too hard for me.
There is meter called order/freedom (basically good/evil) that goes up or down depending on some of your responses in the conversations with many npcs. I wish the order/freedom meter had more impact on the narrative during the game but it really only affects the endings. Meaning if you replay the game hoping for different scenes or conversations to play out, nothing really changes until the very end. I played through the game once in about 13 hours then after playing through again to see if there was changes it was playing out mostly the same. This kind of disappointed me. Then I watched just watched all the endings on youtube, there are basically 3 or 4 main endings and like 4 variations of them.
overall score: 4/5 (if there were more changes in the middle of the narrative that warranted full replays rather than just watching the other endings on youtube, I was ready to give this at least a 4.25/5}
played the Full Body on ps4. Decided to give classic a go. Great game
can be pretty hard especially at the start BUT its absolutely great its very fun
The gameplay, design, story and aesthetic all seem fine, but the controls are horrible.
Even after tweaking joystick dead zones, it's WAY, WAY too easy to accidentally climb a block when you just wanted to change the way you're facing.
This might seem like a minor thing at first, but it absolutely ruins the fun.

This game is great!
I've allways wanted to play it, but on my PS5 and PS4 this wasn't an option, because of all the woke sick stuff they included in the Catherine Full Budy edition, for which I wasn't willing to give my money to Atlus. From reading reviews online I learned that Cathrine Classic was the decent version of the game, but it was only available on PS3, a console I never bought. The thing is that I now bought it on Steam and am enjoying the game a lot.
By the way, I'm playing it on my Linux Mint 22 PC (free from Microsoft's Copilot Recall Spyware activities), and experienced 2 crashes on my first 3 hrs. of gameplay... these crashes took place after the transitions between cutscenes and in-game graphics rendering... but after that it's never happened again... weird.
This is the first time a game crashes on my Linux Mint, and I've been playing a lot on Steam and Battle Net (via Lutris).
Ok, I highly recommend Catherine Classic to everyone that believes there's only two genders in this world, but if you believe there are more than 5000 genders out there, then go for the Full Body edition.

Enjoyable enough and cozy music.
Best part of this game is chilling with your buddies in a bar between puzzle stages. The game is quite unique overall and worth playing, just be aware that on Steam Deck you might encounter problems with cutscenes not playing properly.
I have bought this game around 5 times now, it is such a unique game made by ATLUS and is quite similar style to the persona series, I do hope one day Full body will also come to pc so iI could play on the best graphics.
