Note to WMR users
Although RUMBLE is fully playable with a Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) headset, not all of those headsets provide an optimal gameplay experience. We have made a forum post with more information as to which WMR headsets we recommend for playing RUMBLE.
Please visit the Discussions page for more information about the WMR headsets.
About the Game
Earth-Powered Martial Arts
RUMBLE is a fighting game you play with your body. By moving in specific ways, you can control and manipulate the rock around you. Some movements may pull a rock up from the ground, while other movements can be used to hurl that rock forward. The Gym, your base of operations, is packed with ways for you to learn how to RUMBLE. Explore it fully, and you will find the knowledge you need to become the best of the best.Study the movements, their effects, then learn to combine them to attack your opponents, and defend yourself.
Duels in the RUMBLE Arena
When you feel like putting your knowledge, skill, and creativity to the test, you can use the Matchmaker to set up a duel in the RUMBLE Arena. Here you are pitted against another fighter, and you get to duke it out until one can fight no longer. By winning fights, you slowly increase your rank. With each rank you gain, you unlock more moves for you to study and incorporate into your fighting style.Test your might by dueling other fighters in the RUMBLE Arena. Win, and you climb the ranks, which rewards you with more moves to master.
Everyone is welcome in the Park
For a different experience, you can head to the Park. Contrary to the Arena, up to 6 different fighters can play together simultaneously. You can invite several of your friends to come join you in your own private session, or you could open your Park to anyone that’d like to get in. Train together, play minigames, or host tournaments, what you do in the Park is entirely up to you.Partake in a variety of activities with up to 6 total fighters in the Park! Play with your friends, or make new ones by opening up your Park to everyone.

the learning curve is so big, that you need to actualy train in order to play this game.
If I could compare this to another popular game I would struggle. But the feeling of the game is very much like Smash Bros. Plus there's a super friendly community that also pushes this game to the limits. 6 hours in and I still feel like a baby, but it's always satisfying when you learn a combo and get it off in a match. Games also getting a Quest version sometimes this year so expect this game to have a consistently solid player count across platforms. Plus the dedicated community means there's always someone better to fight and the game is pretty immune to the classic dead VR multiplayer game syndrome as it's a one of a kind game made by a small indie team
An INCREDIBLE game. Hands down the best VR game out there- with one big flaw
This game is amazing to play. It takes full use of virtual reality's use of fully movable controllers, with every one of the 15 moves having it's own pose to enable it. You'll spend time refining these poses, practicing until they are second nature. Don't let the low number of moves trick you into thinking there aren't that many possible things to do though- the amount of combos and tricks, sometimes flashy, sometimes practical, occasionally both, are insane, and more are always being discovered, pushing the skill ceiling upwards and allowing for a diverse range of playstyles. Every time you learn a new combo or master a move you'll feel so good. The thrill you feel in a match, with rocks flying around the arena as you have to rely on quick planning, muscle memory or creativity to deflect, redirect, intercept or block incoming chunks of earth while sending back your own in return is addicting (the trailer is 10x slower and more boring than your average match at higher levels).
Unfortunately, this game does have its drawbacks. If you see negative reviews, they'll talk about one of two things, the second I'll get to later and the first being move execution. They'll complain about the game being incredibly particular with your moves, which I do disagree with. I think the preciseness makes combat more rewarding. While learning, it does feel very particular, although if you stick through you'll come to discover that there is quite a wide range of detection for each move. Fortunately, much of the playerbase (not all but a large amount) are incredibly nice, and are always willing to help you out, giving you tips on your technique or teaching you some new tricks. The other issue, the real pressing one, is the playercount. This game peaks at about 60 players every day or two, with the average being about 15-20. This is certainly not ideal, especially when learning new moves requires you to play pvp matches (winning or losing both gives you xp) and most players will be quite a way above your skill level. Like I mentioned, many of these players will help you at or at the very least go easy, and if not there are many discords that are filled with people of all skill levels that you can ping to ask for help or just a good match.
So to sum it up: A fantastic, brilliant, incredible game that is brought down only by its lower playercount. I can't recommend this game more (especially because if you buy this game that's one more player to play the game with). If you're unsure, there are some incredibly high production quality youtube videos by @shoeless_man that could help you decide.
The steam page does this game absolutely no justice. The emerging gameplay is INCREDIBLE!
This is my favorite VR game right now.
As you can see I havent played this a lot but im always offline I could fix that but this game does not work on my quest 2 once I enter the howard training area I cant use ANY of my moves im just getting pelted and I cant do anything if it works for you great, the consept is cool but i do not find it fun.
Very fun. The moves may seem complicated at first but come easily with practice. Makes for difficult but incredibly rewarding game-play. Definitely recommend getting in on it with some friends, as even on a Friday night i spent 30-45 min matchmaking to no avail lol.
the most fun ive had playing a avatar vr game, even though i have 10 bp its fun as heck and i love it, even though this game is buggy and i crash quite a bit its my pcs fault. once again: 73273478272 out of 10 would recommend.
Great game! Players are friendly and mechanics are fun. Just went down the rabbit hole of the fan-made skill tree and it is wild! Been practicing so maybe I can learn some new combos.
if you are imatient and have a hard time getting particular movments right i would not recomend this game to you but i have enjoyed learing different tecniqes to make different things happen and if you think learning to master earth bending would be fun then this game is for you. This game is defenetly not for everyone but i thought it was fun
amazing game and feels great once you get the hang of it. people complaining dont realize that there are people who if they made it any easier would be unstoppable with the spam. the game is strict with its gestures to avoid miss inputs also. each move is like hitting a button on a fighting game leading to combo's like tekken but you make them in the heat of the moment. looking forward to the standalone release!
RUMBLE VR – A Masterpiece with One Major Flaw
RUMBLE VR is, hands down, one of the best VR games I’ve ever played. The controls feel incredibly natural — you’re not just pressing buttons, you’re actually moving and learning. There’s a magical moment when you realize: the problem isn’t the game, it’s you. And that’s a good thing. You can spend hours just trying to get a single combo right, and when it finally clicks? You feel like a god.
Then you notice your opponent is using the straight uppercut, not the uppercut-straight — and you’re back to square one. The skill ceiling is enormous, and I’m not even able to perform the simplest moves consistently yet. But when you see what’s possible, it’s like standing at the base of an iceberg — massive, mysterious, and exciting.
What makes the game even better is the community. I’ve never experienced a friendlier player base in any game. You can literally ask someone mid-fight how to do a move, and they’ll stop and teach you. People go out of their way to explain things and help you improve. It’s honestly heartwarming.
Now for the big downside: the netcode. RUMBLE uses a client-host system that isn’t centralized. This means in one match, you might have 0ms ping, and in the next, you're lagging with 100–200ms. It gets even worse when players from different regions connect to your match because there aren’t enough players on their own servers. The community’s “fix”? Get used to it. And while that’s kind of frustrating, it’s unfortunately the reality right now.
Conclusion:
Extremely rewarding and challenging gameplay
Amazing and helpful community
The best VR fighting game out there
Major ping issues due to the client-host system
Despite the networking problems, I still highly recommend RUMBLE VR. If you’re looking for a deep, physical, and satisfying VR experience, this is it.
very fun 10/10 would recommend, but all my devices don't have the good GPU's and are laggy when I play on virtual desktop. But if you do wanna play you should give it a try.
Very tough, but rewarding. You will most likely have to train if youd like to be better. You will feel great when you win because you know you trained hard to be able to get there. Once you get past the belt system and unlock all the moves the skill ceiling is near endless. Flow stones (which are modifiers to your play style) give interesting buffs to specific things. 𝑰 𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒗𝒓 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒈𝒂𝒎𝒆 in particular and i am not disappointed. I will probably end up putting a lot more hours into the game, but today i am sore and i could not. You will most likely face players that you have no chance in beating, there is no skill based matchmaking (well there is an option to fight within your rank but no one uses that option), i think this is a plus you will get better facing tougher opponents. Again its a tough game you will be challenged, but its fair and worth every penny. I love it. I think about rumble when im not playing rumble. Am I obsessed? Maybe. The player base and community are great.
The cycle i went through in the early stages of playing rumble around 0-10 hours i would:
train moves > go into game > almost always lose because 𝙄 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙙 > train moves until
until i got all the moves
personal gripes about the game :
-the player count does seem a bit low at times but its been gaining popularity as of recently so i see that changing (as well as the devs are trying to get a standalone version for the meta quest 3 so i would think that would gain a larger player base.
- small (non game breaking) bugs. sometimes in the park area (not fighting arena) youll clip through the stairs. not a big deal really but i had to restart the game as i didnt have jump at the time. This isnt even the fighting arena so not a big deal.
- this game is inaccessible if you dont have a pc and a vr headset. I cant recommend my friends this game due to the high price tag that comes with the game needing those two things. As said before though they plan to raise accessibility in the future by making it available to standalone vr headsets. which is why its also not that big of a deal, but worth a mention
Overall I love the game,
1) Wait criminally long for a match
2) Get rocked on by a black belt who claims to be bad at game
3) Join shoeless dojo and get help from a nice fellow
4) PRACTICE
5) Win some matches, starts to get addicting
6) Rank up
7) PRACTICE
8) Woah, I'm black belt now, how did that happen?
9) Choose your playstyle
10-50) PRACTICE
51) Rock on a fresh white belt
52) Get told off for doing so
53) Find a fresh rock man in need via the dojo
54) Teach them
55) Show game to friend
The cycle repeats.
10/10 game ( I'm still on number 10-50)
Great community and fun to play
Cool game. feels unique. the game spots your gestures quite well. the fights are intense. small player base tho.
I don't know why I haven't written a review for this game yet. It is easily one of if not my favorite game of all time. It has something for everyone if you're willing to learn. It caters to those who are competitive, those who are creative, those who are both, and so much more. There is a reason that even though I take frequent breaks from this game, I keep coming back. It has an incredible community, and is genuinely a good enough game to buy a vr headset for if you don't already have one.
Yes! Yes yes yes! This game is the exercise I've been needing on my days off! I'm still only a Green Belt, but oh my gosh, the skills you can learn in this game are super complex! This game has a high skill floor and an even higher skill ceiling, and once you reach the Black Belt rank, that's just the tip of the iceberg!!
I hope to play this game for many years, and would love for this game to become more popular! Love from a former-Questie-turned-PCVR-player!
- Illogical Paradox
before you get mad about moves not working check your poses its not the game its you also take advice people give its insanely helpful and really common to be handed out
great game 10/10, the community is very friendly and the game play is fun.
one of the most engaging VR experiences out there
and if you think the moves aren't registering, then fix your form lol ie get good
the best VR game to get, its a sport you'll learn like any other, fantastic community too
Game is good it would be better if you could get it on the oculus store but I the main problem is there aren’t many players making it really hard to rank up also it might be my pc but the lag can get really bad overall it’s really fun but it has some really big issues
This is the best VR game and one of the best fighting games if you buy it rember these three things
1 no the game isnt broken you just did the poeses wrong
2 by kind to your fellow players there arnt alot of us so dont make any enemies because you might find no one wants to play when your on
3 this is a game so have fun itts all about phsical activity and everyone is putting in the work dont be a jerk
usually i wouldn't say a lot about a game but this one is really cool so i'll give you some tips as a player so the game uses physical movements as the summons/attack moves so i recommend you practice the moves that you have and make sure to memorize the stance it is essential to bending rocks at lest if you don't wanna look like you're flailing your arms although some moves you need to flail for like flick it's completely dependent on both hand positions, anyway its a fun game and i honestly can't get enough of it and i hope you enjoy it too
most rewarding gameplay loop ive ever experiened it is a must play for any vr player
GREAT GAME BUUUUT.....
This game is super fun and works well, and it also has an intense learning curve (a very positive thing). However, it just lacks a lot of players.
To level up you need to play matches with people and it is just hard to find a match. Other than that, learning this game and trying to master it is very entertaining and when you actually do have a match, you feel like you're in an anime.
All in all I for sure recommend it
this game is amazing dont give up. However the trailer is outdated
This game is incredible! It's a bit of a commitment, it's hard to get into, and harder to master, but it's worth it! The community is really epic and the Discord servers are a really good resource for improving and meeting people! The game will hopefully be coming to standalone headsets by the end of the year, and until then the player base and matchmaking will be a struggle, but again, the Discord helps with that! If you're thinking of getting into this game, for the good of yourself, and the community, and the WORLD, please get it!
This is the best VR and a contender for best game period I have ever played. It’s remarkably rewarding, but it’s also very difficult. The skill ceiling is high, but rumblers always fly higher. The community is the greatest of any online community I have ever been a part of. The Shoeless Dojo is full of people just itching to help more people get into the game, and if you’re considering it now is the best time to start. I wish I could stick to one topic to gush about, but everything about the game is everything I could hope for in a game like this. Please buy Rumble. Please.
this game is very addicting, and the mechanics can be very fun once you learn them
this game is single handily one of the best vr fighting games of all time doing poses to atack some one is so fun and id recomend this to anyone who is looking for a fighting game my only issue is the fact that the player base is small but they cant control that
great game fun and interactive
only downside is lack of players so as a result long queue times
prev I stopped cause of the lack of players but now no issues with the playerbase, TO PEOPLE THINKING OF GETTING THE GAME (which you should be if you dont have it already and have a VR): Its not the games fault when you spam a move and nothing happens check the rotation of wrists, hand positioning etc it is difficult at first but the initial grind is worth it.
The game is very good, once you get past the tutorial, the combat matches are good. And you will play for hours!
This game is so addicting it’s awesome! Although it might be difficult for some to get down, once you see someone flying at you at top speed, it drives you to get to that level. At it did for me
I really, really, really want to like Rumble. But as is it's just too inaccessible. What's there is great (moves feel fluid and congruent for combos, community is extremely friendly) but its has a few glaring problems:
1. The game simply isn't fun until you've spent a shit ton of time on it. 15 hours in I have the black belt and still mostly end up flailing around. I tried to get some friends into Rumble too and they had the same experience. I understand the dev wants learning Rumble to feel like a discipline (especially given it's obviously inspired by ATLA) but the skill curve of Ruble is just waaaay too much for me too enjoy, and I feel that in it's current state, Rumble is too unpleasant and difficult to new players for it to properly grow and retain a large player base (which would also get rid of the problem of how small the player base is and the fact the queue times can be a pain)
2. Getting started/unlocking the moves is agonizing. Because of the small player base, you usually have to match up against people of a higher rank than you, meaning not only are they much better, but they have all the moves unlocked. It is absolutely miserable as a new player having to slog through matches where you get wiped by better players who have a fundamental advantage just so you can fully play the game.
3. Bad connection really hurts a precision-based multiplayer game. It's an interesting choice to make a game that demands this much precision from the players then make it peer-to-peer connection, meaning that your extremely precise moves are going through not-so-great connection most of the time. No flack given for making Rumble peer-to-peer (servers are expensive ash) but the point still stands.
4. Sloooooow devs. Huge amounts of time are put between updates of middling change. It took nearly a year for a customization system to be added (which again, is interesting priorities for a game that desperately needed to be on independent vr systems). For a full-price game in early access I'm quite disappointed with the speed of development.
If Rumble wants to make it big, it needs to be made waaaay more forgiving. You'll notice half of the positive reviews don't have more than 15 hours, and it's for a good reason. Good concept, good execution, good community, skill floor is too high to retain a playerbase.
Thinking of buying the game? Go watch shoeless's youtube video series on the game and youll find what this game truly holds. Fun for casuals and competitors. Quest update is coming later this year for standalone devices which will be huge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rumble is innovative af. A combat system that relies on body movements and gestures rather than button presses is cool but to really grow it needs more modes and maby some singleplayer stuff. For now i would recommend the devs just more ai i can fight against or fight ai with other players.
Pretty cool game but it's pretty much dead. I got into one online match in the whole 1.5 hours I played. I waited 15 minutes to find another and it never happened,
A difficult game with the highest skill ceiling I've ever seen, and its still rising.
Small but brilliant community, I'd recommend you to join a discord and ask for help when you start playing.
really fun and rewarding game. definitely recommend you get this with a friend/sparring partner, preferably one who is also new to the game so you can really go ham on each other.
i wanna say its fun but it feels so finicky to do any of the moves and yes i did learn them.. eventually but either way it shouldn't be infuriating just to learn the basic moves so if the toned down the precision it would be an absolute blast to play
Can't recommend it, there are no updates, but also no players.
Great game but, don't buy it.
Earth bending martial arts in VR? Sign me up!
This is the only game I know of that can take emergent gameplay and make a good fighting game with it as a core mechanic.
If you start and feel stuck, I recommend joining the official Discord for help, players will be happy to help you!
i love the combat it is difficult but its very fun im not good at describing
Difficult game to get into, but amazing friendly community and LOTS to learn. If you enjoy the feedback loop of a constantly refining your strategies and developing your own style through mechanically difficult mind games and strategy, you'll love this game once you see what it can be. Don't expect instant matchmaking though.
This is a great vr earth bending game, probably THE best. it does cost money, BUT it's EXTREMELY worth the cost. also if you are having trouble, consider joining the shoeless discord server.
This game is not like any other out there, "anything you learn in other games you don't need here."I think that was quoted by shoeless. It is all gestures, no buttons, no external tech, just perfect gestures. If something is wrong, you are the problem.
don't like the game AT ALL i tried the earth bending and all that but as soon as i tried to go fight the robot guy it would not fire or create any pillars and i did it exactly it got to the point were i could quick fire but as soon as i stepped inside the arena i couldn't do anything and btw terrible running if your gonna make a running system like that then make it like the one from blade and sorcery at least
