I like this game, but i'd say that's a very confusing end for the Joyville arc of the PuppetShow series.
Spoilers! Also spoilers for PuppetShow: Return to Joyville!
If i had to guess and from what i read, this is something like alternative universe to the main timeline of the previous four games. Some things definitely do not align with the information from the previous games, like in the forth one Cricks blinded himself yet in this one it was an accident, Cricks and Master being friends when they had just a friendly work relationship in a theatre in forth game. I'm not a history expert so i could be wrong, but due to more electric devices being used in this game - if i would to asssume it might take place in late 1800's early 1900', which definitely doesn't allign with the time period of the previous games too. I just wish they told about this in the game or clarified some things, since it's confusing if it's the same timeline or no. The ending of the bonus chapter felt slightly disapponting since Cricks still escaped so, what was the point of even chasing him? The main ending is not as confusing, but i do wonder if the scene with adult Felicia indicates that the fate of the main timeline Felicia was changed again, or it's this timeline's Felicia just living her life until her elder days & accepting her damaged face and fate. Overall as the final game of the Joyville arc, it's disappointing how vague with the finale it is in my opinion. Unless i misunderstood something.
The animation is really good, ambience's also good (i like the ones from the first Joyville locations the most in this one), i also think sometimes the logic behind certain actions we need to do so we could progress is kinda weird. Like, to open the lock we use a screwdriver, i suppose it fits in the lock but this isn't the item i would use for that usually. Or to get rid of the leaves and sticks we need to use the lighter, i guess it works but i'd use something different i suppose, it's not that bad but just strange logic, could be me through. Overall i like this game, but i wish the story was slightly less confusing since it's the ending of the Joyville's story, and the bonus chapter's end could've been slightly more satisfying.
Really like the Puppetshow franchise. This was a good part of the franchise and I really enjoyed playing this game. Had to skip some of the puzzles as they were a bit too hard for me but all in all was a good game.
The game was fun but was partly tedious and this could certainly disturb towards the end. The game did have a lot of nice puzzles. I recommend this game to play if you are a fan of the puppetshow series but would wait for a discount.
This wasn't as good as the earlier games in this series, which I thought were far above average (keeping in mind they are older games). I still recommend this, but this one had some cons.
Pro: Overall a good Hidden Object game. Fun puzzles, some back and forth, but not too much. Logical flow for the most part. A big plus was that none of the mini-games that I recall were just the same tired old mini-games developers use over and over in newer games. Unlike the older games in this series, it has an interactive map and full hints.
Cons: Some of the mini-games didn't even make sense to me as to how to play, let along how to solve (but I'm not that good at them, so might be a fun challenge for smarter people). The other cons are really quite minor. There is a tram that you can't bypass using the map, but the travel is short. There was very little story (which doesn't matter to me personally). There was some really very minor glitches in some hidden object scenes: things misnamed, things marked as requiring extra action but didn't, and multiple items of the same type but only one listed (for example, two bows in a scene, but only one bow listed).
I like that PuppetShow: Destiny Undone picks up where PuppetShow: Return To Joyville left off
