I originally bought it when it was half the price of Beat Saber, and so many things have been added to the game over the years which is awesome. I don't even want Beat Saber anymore beacause this game looks way better. You can download custom songs as well, which is great!
Great game!
Hopefully the number of Experiences will increase soon, It looks ten times cooler than the beatsaber!
Similar to Ringfit Adventure for the Nintendo Switch, this game doesn't really feel like you're getting a workout. I've found myself playing it for hours on end without wanting to stop until my body says 'no more.' Gamifying exercise is the only way I can stay consistent, so Synth Riders hits the mark perfectly.
This is an absolute blast to play! The gameplay is addicting and a great way to get some cardio in. I honestly keep choosing a new song until I am too exhausted to play. It is THAT fun!
Multiplayer feels a little lackluster; During the song/game, the only presence the other players have is on the scoreboard. You can't see anyone around you except in the lobby, which... you don't spend much time in... Which is kinda lame...
Still, it is still a welcome feature to be able to play songs together. Just don't expect to see your friends flailing about. Maybe one day they will add a way to watch your friends dance too. My dream version would be tiny (a couple feet tall) versions of your friends on the ground in front of you would work really well. In big groups it would be like having a little dance party with lots of cat-sized people!
VERY cool, with all kinds of range of motion that will keep you working out hard!
greate box game, good songs and can be added custom songs from beat saber!
in the game webpage are intructions of how to do it. pretty easy to do just copy/paste
I prefer this one over Beat Sabers. The music is great and the rhythm play is more enjoyable. Very pleased with this one overall.
Yeah sure steam i will recommend it.
Hi guys, yeah you guys.
Just wanna tell you this game is great and I recommend it
Bye
Honestly, I just got VR a few days ago. And I've played a handful of games... and in my probably 35 years of gaming I CANNOT remember the last time I was so excited amd happy to play a game, like physical joy. Maybe the last time was when you're a little kid and youget Christmas presents and everything is so great... I still love all gaming, but this ACTUAL PHYSICAL reaction of enjoyment, it's next level. This game is SO fun. I started rhythm gaming with GH1, and to this day I still play Clone Hero, ao this was just.... wow. Get this game if you have VR and love rhythm games.
Together with Beat Saber this is my all time favorite music game!
What a workout!
I love VR, and adore rhythm games, but when those rhythm games expect too much rote learning to master a stage, I lose interest; Synth Riders delivers against that. It's a whole lotta fun, and at and above Expert difficulty, it might be more cardio in two weeks than I've done in a year. The serotonin hit might have me hooked.
It's lots of fun to dance to - and a good workout at the expert and master levels
Given how common it is to compare this to Beat Saber, I have to admit that it's difficult to say which one I like more. At first I wasn't sold on Synth Riders. The majority of the songs that come with it unfortunately didn't do much for me, and I personally am not a huge fan of the Vaporwave/Synthwave visual aesthetic in general, but you can't talk about anything Beat Saber-related without taking custom songs into consideration. There's plenty of fun custom songs you can get and the modifiers keep the gameplay interesting (big fan of Force+Spin).
The main part I really like is that, compared to Beat Saber, it feels more like you're dancing (or at least, the gameplay feels like it encourages you to dance along)
It's really grown on me and I'm enjoying it. Pretty fun way to get some movement into your day.
Great fun and a perfect way to get some aerobic exercise in "accidentally" while playing a video game. There are some really great tunes included, and some pretty cool music packs and experiences. Love this game!
god i cannot wait to map the M*A*S*H theme song
I'd like to start off by saying I've played most of my time on Quest 3, which is why my playtime on here is so low.
That said, Synth Riders is an incredibly fun rhythm game that offers a fantastic variety of music, both in-game/Vanilla, and through custom tracks online. The wide variety of music tracks, from electronic to pop, ensures there's something for everyone.
The vibrant visuals and smooth game play keep you want to play more, song after song, making it easy to get lost in the beats.
The controls are very responsive, and compared to other rhythm games, are much less likely to have issues while playing (from my experience, ymmv). The game is also plenty customizable for your comfort, which is always a bonus.
Whether you're a rhythm game veteran or a newcomer to these kinds of games, I feel that Synth Riders delivers an enjoyable and energetic experience that's perfect for both casual and dedicated players, and even great for a cardio workout. I Highly recommended!
If you thought that Beat Saber is a good workout, I have good and bad news for you. Bad news: It's not. Now the Good news: Buy this, Then sweat all over your headset, Clean and Repeat. Would buy again (again) 7/5.
All in all, it's fun, but it's more on the relaxing side than challenging. Maybe the expert/master songs make you move a lot.
In some songs, I think that the "balls path & rhythm" could be done better so that you need to move in more organic ways to hit them.. As it is, some sections in some songs feel too random
Only gets boring, if there are no new Swing Dances coming up. I would take most of the swing dances...

I love this game, lots of great electronic music. Generous selection of music in the base game and a lot of really cool songs you can buy. Very easy to add modded songs aswell.
This is the VR "killer-app".
As a club-hopper in my early life, this is just the fix I need to re-live those moments. I've tried multiple different kinds of rythm games but this is just perfect for what it does; makes you dance without knowing it!
Music selection is great, and the difficulty of the tracks are fair.
But now I have experienced the pink horror of Barbie, and will have terrible dreams :D <3
1 hour into the free play weekend and I bought it! Who knew.... next I'll be trying beat saber haha
Brilliant game.
Love it.
Really fun flow-state game with massive staying power thanks to the custom scene. Timezone communities from around the world are fun to meet in online mode. Recent patch was a major UI overhaul.
My favourite VR game. I first started playing when I bought my meta quest 2 the year the headset came out and fell in love with the game. Now, years later, after getting my valve index I still play this game almost daily. It's an amazing game and has not one but two packs based around my favourite music genre! I love this game so much!
After owning this game for a couple of years now I can say that it is one of my VR games that I regularly come back to. Coming from the generation that played DDR, I can attest to this being ton of fun, plus it doubles as a workout depending on how many settings you're willing to toggle on (trust me....the higher the difficulty, the more your arms and shoulders are probably going to feel it the next morning).
All of the music packs and especially the tracks that double as "experiences" are pretty great, but I do feel that this game shines through the custom songs created by other players. Some are gems out there that are really fun and occasionally hilarious (especially if you're playing with a group of friends).
If you like Beat Saber but want a variation in mechanics, or if you're like me and are looking for a fun stepping stone to being less sedentary, give this game a try.
Enjoying this more than any other rhythm game in vr to date. This game makes you move and sweat and is easily modded and loaded up with custom songs.
What an immersive experience!
enjoyable. I rate it better than Beat saber, because there is more movement.
좋아!
Dancing and shiz
I own this as well as Beat Saber. Synth Riders has a slightly different feel, because you aren't slicing blocks, but hitting colored balls with your controllers. Because you get more points for hitting the balls "harder", it can get way more intense, in a good way. There are also long "curves" in space that can appear, and you need to follow with your controllers, at the same time hitting the balls that show up on the curves.
The music rocks. I love synthwave music in general, and some absolute bangers are available. Recommended.
One of the more engaging VR rhythm games. It provides a much more full-body experience rather than the typical arm-centric workouts of other games in the genre. Truly an underrated gem in the VR space.
great fun AND you can add custom songs for free on pc!
My favourite VR rhythm game. Would love to see more drum and bass tracks!
It's really fun. It's similar to Audiotrip's game mechanics but it still is very much its own game. I love the immersive experiences of the full experience songs. I *super* recommend them if you have not tried one. It's a great game but wow does it have a *long* load up time.
Open Beta in 2024 is so smooth. Great work.
It'a a fun game, but it feels more like a party game than something to enjoy in the long term.
It has a limited set of songs and although i enjoy the most of them, after around 5 hours i feel done with it.
It's not good enough for exercise routine and has very limited replayability.
I would say get it at a high sale or in a humble bundle
Amazing fun, great exercise, gets your arms swinging around following the orbs amd rails in all directions.
Also brings out a competitive edge in my family, trying to get high scores, perfect runs etc.
Custom songs are a must. As the included songs awful. New custom songs still coming out in 2024 1 every day on average.
Much better than beat saber. Which I find boring, and poor exercise, consisting of twitching your wrist to swipe cubes.
