Absolute crap!
This game is full of reused assets and similar map structures, the voice acting and grammar is terrible and confusing (especially with puzzles), the enemies are dumber than a chicken stuck in a pillowcase and the game is optimized poorly at times for no reason.
I wanted to like this game, but in the last half, the enemy AI that one shots you, is a little too unfair. I could work with that and die over and over until I got good RNG, but the performance in the last section of the game is horrific. I have an RTX 3080 and even if I put it to the lowest settings at 1080p, it cannot manage 60fps. It is REALLY bad. Wish they made sure the game was stable before putting out on steam. I do not recommend.
The first level was pretty cool, but the game's flaws overpowered it. Why can't you see where you are on the map? I kept running in circles with no way out on the second stage. I got so frustrated with it I lost all will to play this game. The graphics get worse on the second map. The mouse acts janky the entire time. I just can't take it anymore. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GAME.
Not fun. After bumbling around in the dark for ages trying to understand what to do, I then am faced with constant flickering red lights. It's unbearable to play.
I enjoyed playing this scary early access indie game. Dark scenes with scary music create an environment of a real psychological horror game. Although it is in early access and indie game, it has very high-quality graphics.
The game storyline is increasingly interesting and immersive which creates suspense to know more of it by playing next stage acts. Challenging puzzle and riddles need to be solved cleverly using an interactive and dynamic environment of the stage scenario. Especially in spare time, one can play this game for fun and time pass. The game theme design is also consistent and aesthetically nice-looking throughout. A bit heavy on resources due to high-quality graphics but can manage to run on medium to low settings.
Continuing game through autosaving is also a good feature. I hope manual save game feature also added in the upcoming version of the game. The music theme is also very scary relevant and consistent throughout the game. Audio and sound effects are nice. Overall the game is very appealing. I finished playing this game from start till end. Looking forward to playing the full version of this game to continue playing this thrilling complete story acts. :-)
Awesome game. I have never played such a game before. Horror always inspire me, my heart beat started increasing during the game. Besides horror, story has so suspense in it that you can't leave the game in between. Feeling addictive!
It requires a lot of attention, to find clues in your surrounding area, but what you find is extremely horrible. The game is really fun to play. All in all, this game is worth playing if you are a horror lover.
I loved the game as soon as i laid my hands on it, this reminded me of F.E.A.R game(First Encounter Assault Recon). The sounds the environment all reminded me of my first game on pc which i had started playing during my college days. from graphics to story to sound and to gameplay all are very good, but I would like to see more improvised graphics in the coming future releases.
Also I would want more lightning to be introduced and subtitles for the narration or dialogs that happen now and then in the game.

Beware! the game is very intense and jumps scary! if you have PSE/epilepsy don't bother playing this game or sleeping at night, it will cause you to have nightmares. This is a game that I could follow through and look upon its updates and improvements overtime, for its price! the game is pretty great! on its respectable genre, I reckon this is one of the most worth it paid indie game on steam. so very much recommended for people who needs a game that could get your adrenaline rush going.Horror Indie Game with a low system requirement! this game has a lot lo offer for people who are tech savy :) waiting for more updates and a game to follow through.
Absinth keeps you on the edge of your chair the whole entire game whether it is a demon possessed children scaring the shit out of you or alien/hybrids chasing you around. Over all this a fantastic game and I would recommend it to anyone who likes horror/thriller games this will scare the living shit out of you, keep up the amazing work black hound studios. this is now one of my all time favorite thriller and i will be waiting for part 2!!!!
overall good game, I was expecting a bit more horror than exploration in the second level but still good for the price and that it´s EA. I suggest not going to much in open world concept thats nothing for small indies, it feels always too empty. I would expect for the final game more events and atmosphere, less bugs, more play time and better voice actors. Currently I would give the game 7/10.
As the game is in early acces its normal that it will have some problems but generally game have good design decisions. One of the most difficult genres to do are horror games(also for indie studio), I wish they will not break undet that pressure and complete challenge that they have now
As an early access game, it's very well made horror game with well-made jumpscares and amazing atmosphere and ambience.
I just have a few issues I'd like to address.
1. It's a little too dark, brightness makes very little difference.
2. Some the voice acting seems bland and could be improved.
3. Some puzzles are a little too complex.
4. It's a little buggy.
So I'd rate the game if it acknowledges and fixes all the issues listed above about a 8.6/10
There are a lot of bugs which need to be fixed like sometimes i press interact button and game goes to menu. Overall, game is good. The sound effects are amazing they could take someone,s heart. Lightening effects could have been improved because sometimes i am not able to see a thing. You can say game horror in true sense and in this era of making huge games this game proves that small sized games can also be good. Well that's my perspective.
This game is great for the price. You have the eerie feeling, dark levels, creepy unknown monster chasing you, the amazing mind games it plays on you, and creative original puzzles. Absinth is a very good psychological horror game and will scare you way more than you think! I would definitely recommend this great game.
Eerie atmosphere, just as I like it. Dim and dark spaces with an unknown entity chasing you - yup. I really loved all the aspects of the game and cannot wait to see what happens next. Great game to play and I totally recommend it!

This game has some potential. Currently you can’t complete the story because not all Levels are released yet but the story seems interesting so far. Some mandatory codes or keys are hidden in places where I just walked by and at the 100th time I finally noticed them… this gave me such facepalm moments… Interesting glasses in the second level. I hope they also find its purpose in the coming levels!
Well this game simply would not stop buttfucking my computer!
I made my CPU usage go to 100%! I play a lot of games...okay, and let me tell you, I can run all of them smoothly, this game should've been no exception!
However, the poor optimization simply was too much, and I couldn't even get past the intro, what a shame!
I highly recommend the devs fix this game breaking problem right away, otherwise no one will be able to enjoy what truly could be a masterpiece. We may never know!
So I just finished the first level and I really liked it! What I liked the most was the riddle with the laptop. This really blew my mind, since I never expected that 4th dimension riddle. So of course the game needs some more polishing and it still has some bugs, but to be fair it´s still a quite new game in early access so I´m really looking forward on what the studio will make out of this game at the end. Most horror games I played latley had a weak story and were not really story driven, but it seems like absinth has a solid story and is story based.. This is the most important thing for me as gamer, since I just love a good solid story in horror games and this is what lets me keep me playing a game at the end of the day. So keep it up!
