This game should be free.
everything bad about the game:
30 levels only
only 3 troop type
not balanced
gets boring fast
all locations are the exact same
last level ruined my pc
No custom scenarios, audio resets when fast-forwarding, bad sound effects, Campaign-style level progression and no sandbox mode, buggy character models clipping and elongating across the whole screen.
Mess of a game, blatant UEBS bandwagon garbage.
STEAM, REVIEW THE GAMES YOU PUBLISH!
ok, originally i hated this game BUT it's light to start and doesn't take to much space, so whenever i had a problem with steam like bugs i just went here and tested this game, went from a 3/10 to a 7/10
Bad TABS clone. The devs abandoned this project already without releasing other important features. It feels like...nothing. Not worth spending your money on (even tho this shit costs less than a dollar).👎
Bad port of a phone game. Can't place units -- left-click doesn't work. Garbage game, the coronavirus of gaming experiences. Appears to be yet another example of ex-Bolshevik cheapjack crapware.
Don't waste your money, even if it is just $1 or less than that. I would rather save it, for when you buy something else next. I was an idiot back then, and for some reason decided to purchase this. Too late to refund, but the game is just boring, and not fun. Even if it was free, I would not install so I can save space.
It's nothing more than an empty shell
As it's not even in Early-Access, I don't have any more hope for the game.
I waited long and tried to give it multiple chances. The problem is: It's no fun, it's not strategic and there are only 3 units the whole time.
That's boring. I played trough like 3 times by now and everytime it started to bore the hell out of me after about 10 levels.
I am sorry, I normally ain't someone who negatively writes about games which could get better over time or games which the devs are actively behind (Also if it's 'just' 0,79€). But still...
Maan, never had so much fun seeing a huge dingdong crushing enemy army! :D
It´s 0.80c, even less in a sale. Highly recommend this game for such a price.
After all, great place to burn creativity, if the developers continue on adding stuff,
this can be one of the better steam games!
Got this on sale for 41p or thereabouts reduced from 79p.
The basic idea of small animated groups of soldiers fighting on fairly bland terrain is a good one, teaching basic tactics, and the use of counter units. Well it doesn't really do that. The Devs have settled for minecraft quality graphics. Once you've selected your forces and started the Battle allI think you can do is watch. So as far as can tell you can't flank an opposing line to blitz missile troops, and combat itself seems to be everything attacking the nearest thing, which might be an actual design feature or it might just be a pretty poor choice for how to simulate combat.
So it looks bad, sounds worse and doesn't really simulate much of anything.
It will only really work as a game if you think the animation is appealing.
Although this really does look like someones genuine best effort to create something good I can't quite bring myself to recommend it.
Pros: simple until around level 18-20, can run on any computer after probably 2008, good music, simple voxel like graphics, easy to use UI.
Cons: untrustworthy dev (has about 3 early access games( no way to find the dev outside steam, even on steam)), many people say this is a unity asset flip which it very well might be, impossible at later levels, very little units, basically a copy of TABG and Epic Battle Simulator.
Is it worth buying? Only on sale as it's about 2 hours of entertainment, and only if you can't find a better $0.50 game.
Edit: In the over 6 months I've owned this not one update, no new news, and no new discussions (other than the dev on multiple accounts bitching at people in a very bad manner) Just do not buy this horrible excuse for a game.
no one wins if ur a kopy kitty >:( MadEmoji

This is a great game in my opinion, it's very fun and challenging. I think you should add more levels because I did beat the game in roughly an hour and 30mins, also you should add a "Custom", just for players to screw around and make battles to watch. A multiplayer for people to 1v1 or even 2v2 their friends or an online stranger will make it a very entertaining game of strategy and strength. I think you should also add more troops like, Dragons, Giants, Cannons, Knights, etc, along with upgrades, adding upgrades will bring more people in and attach them for a longer period of time, have for say 30 different troops and everyone one of them being able to be upgraded at least 5 times, upgrading Damage, HP, Speed, etc, will have people playing for days upon weeks upon months, you can even add "Special" troops that people can buy that are strong but not op. *I do realize it's a Early Access and I am very excited to see what they add to this game*
if you do not have a brain and you like to waste time, this is the perfect game for you.
I gained all the first 9 levels just filling the map with the the first axe combat units, after that, you need to add archers behind.. so boring
(in the first 2 minutes of play, it seems to have potential)
Challenging for you and your computer...
little buggy when zoomed out
camera angles and controls are vomit
cost money
but hey, they're in development and I think they have potential
Edit 2 years later: nope its shit
It's a great idea and I hope to see it further developed.
But currently it's mostly a clusterfuck simulator.
I wish there were a way to make a group flank the enemy archers. But instead the just run into heat of the battle and die.
Has potential, worth the dollar it's selling for, not much more.
There's not much in the way of strategy in this game. Unit composition makes little difference. If you could give groups of units just a little guidance (who to attack or preplanned direction of travel), this game would do that much better.
It's early access, so I give it thumbs up (but maybe wait a while).
Wald
Not worth the 2 quarters i rubbed together for it. No multi-player, no sandbox, campain only. 3 classes, no upgrades or any increase in your minions yet the computer ones have twice as many bots and all stronger than yours. I watched a 1v1 with one of my guy and the enemy, he won with a scrap of health. Physically impossible to win past lvl 15 because its not possible to have enough bots or enough dmg. Bad game design and frustrating to play with no reward or statisfaction. Also have bug that causes minion bodys to stretch and fly across the screen, casting shadows and blocking the game. Cant give orders besides spawn locations and cant use terrain to advantage. Might as well only have one map. Only get this game if you were beaten all your life and its the only way you can get off now.
For the price I have to admit its a fun, 1 maybe 2 hours of entertainment.
However, it is extremely bland and boring.
Cons:
-EXTREMELY limited pool of troops to use
- At some point it feels like the Ai is steam rolling you despite the fact that the side of the field it's fighting on seems like its on your advantage
- Hills and terrain play no role
- the firs twenty or so levels can be beaten with axman spam but suddenyl at somepoint axmen just stop being entirely viable except as meatshields
- formation placement is tedious and borderline frustrating
- I understand the point of the game is to place your troops in a way that, once the battle starts they run straight into combat. This works for the first missions but ast some point no matter the spacing or formations your men simply run for the biggest blob on the field (no way to do a proper encirclement.
-Not sure if this is a bug but after a few losses on a later level, the area i could place my troops on seemed to decrease to the point that i could only place my army at the very back of the field.
If this game was priced any higher than a dollar it would be a waste of your money,
However as cheap as it is, it is a worthy introduction to this type of strategy game.
Pros:
- cheap!
- Fun when you are losing battles by a man or two, quite exciting
- the mechanics of the troops is quite good (health/speed/damage etc)
|Battle Simulator Review - By TeeMan From XSNKGaming - June/25/2018|
I spent the $0.75 on this game mainly to test to see if my new debit card worked. Honestly I wasn't expecting much, I was expecting just another boring "Put your soldiers here and watch them die" game, but I'm blown away by the amount of detail and effort put into this game already.
Even in it's first stages, it's highly addicting and amazingly fun. When I played the game for the first time, I only intended to check it out to see if I liked it. I only planned to play it for like 5-10 minutes max, but just now, when I finally have to go to work, I realize that I've been playing the game non-stop for the past 2 hours or so.
Battle Simulator is an amazing game, featuring a decent sized campaign mode where you are able to assign your soldiers (Axe Warriors, Spear Fighters, & Archers) in any formation you want, everything from tactical formations, to shapes and everything in between.
For example; Feeling like a kid again? Why not make them fall into a square or triangle formation? Feeling silly? Make them fall into a smiley face! Feeling like a Spartan or a Roman? Make them fall into a neat and tight packed war wall! The opportunities are endless!
Battle Simulator is the PERFECT game to kill some time. Hours of endless fun and enjoyment. If you're looking for a simple, yet enjoyable game to play while you take one of those "Study breaks", (Yeah, you know exactly what I mean. The "I'm only taking a 10 minute study break to clear my mind, dad." saying that usually turns into a 3 hour procrastination period, a test that you BARELY passed, and an hour of swearing up and down it won't happen again.) Then this is the game for you!
If you're into supporting small games during their building stages, this is the perfect one. This game will be huge, I'm telling you.
Now, I don't even know if the game developer will read this, but I have a few suggestions that I feel would make this game even better in it's coming stages of building;
Customization; The ability to change the colour of your soldiers armour, possibly even the ability to build your own soldier, the size, height, and build would be neat, you could build a dwarf warrior or a giant Spartan, or a bald headed science teacher...or something.
Building; The maps are small, and perfect for what is needed, perhaps add the ability to use the small circle size of the maps to build our own maps, with snow, mud, rain, etc etc. Even better would be the ability to build and design a small base for the armies.
Blood; You're probably already going to add this, but what the hell. Name says it all really, would be neat to see the blood and guts of the enemy strewn across the battlefield. (Obviously add an option to turn it off if you have kids playing.)
Army Size; Again, probably already going to add this, but oh well, might as well suggest it anyways. I know that you can already choose the size of your army, but what I think would be awesome would be the ability to change the size of both armies, would also be good if you implemented the customization suggestion; an army of 50 Giant Spartans vs an army of 500 Axe Warriors sounds fun :P
There are a few bugs and issues, however that's expected in an early release game. For example;
Freezing; Sometimes, when you increase the speed of the fight to anything over 1.0x, the game doesn't like it and freezes up quite a bit, I find staying at either 0.5x or 1.0x is best.
Stretching; When you have a large army, during the large group fights, when someone dies, sometimes their corpse stretches horribly and glitches out around the map. Similar to the classic "Node Stretching" you may see in BeamNG when your vehicle crashes faster than the game can render the physics.
Locked Soldiers; When placing soldiers, if you accidentally place one and hit "Clear" too quickly, the soldier will sometimes lock itself on the map. It will still be a fully usable soldier during the fight, and will not count towards your soldier usage, however you cannot "clear" it. Which sucks for those who enjoy tactical formations. Only way to fix it is to restart the battle.
Can't Return To Main Menu; Unsure if it's something on my end or not, but there is no way to return to the main menu of the game once in the campaign, you have to close the game via task manager if in full screen, which kinda sucks. Especially when you have to restart the current battle due to the locked soldiers (As stated above).
RATING;
My honest rating for this game is a 7/10. Absolutely beautiful work. I am 98% sure that rating will go up to a 10/10 when I see more of the game. This game is going to be huge, and I'm honestly glad I found it when I did. I will be following this game throughout its developing stages, I will be doing a full, detailed review such as this on each stage of the development.
I plan to invest money in this game to support the developer as much as they need.
To the developer, I say this; You've just earned yourself a dedicated fan, keep up the amazing work, seriously, absolutely beautiful. If you're in need of investors, please message me and we can discuss options. I want to help you out here, this game is too good not to invest in. I'm willing to spend my hard earned money in order to assist you in making this beautiful, beautiful game.
Sorry for my extremely long review, I'm a semi-professional entertainment reviewer, so I strive to provide the best, most detailed reviews I can, so my readers/viewers never have to ask what I mean when I say things.

This game is a waste of your time . The graphics arent bad but there are lots of visual glitches . The gameplay , if you even wanna call it that is spamming a random number of the 3 units you have at command , but the battles are really easy and theres only 30 levels . Theres only 1 song and no sound effects and the song gets boring after 2 mins . Nothing is explained to you but it wont be a problem since you basically cant lose if you spam anything other than just 1 unit . Dont buy this cheap-ass asset flip garbage even tho its less than a dollar its still not worth the money
