◇◇Game Overview
WINDSHIFT is a game with elements of both a strategy battle RPG and an adventure.
Note: Controllers supported
〇 Command Battle
In command battle, the command selected affects the order of action.
Commands that can be selected are basic attack, skill, defense, item use, and escape.
Basic attack
During a basic attack, you will attack with your equipped weapon. Weapons are given a critical hit chance. When you attack with a critical hit, a shock wave will be generated. Press the "A" button to attempt to make a critical hit.
Skill
Jinbei, the main character, gains various skills by opening the "Huusui plate ". Using the skill consumes MP but can deal more damage to the enemy than basic attacks.
Companions learn skills by leveling up.
Defense
Prevent an enemy's powerful attack one time. When attacked, defense power increases.
Item use
Use the items you have.
Escape
Escape from the battle. In some cases you will not be able to escape. You cannot escape from boss battles.
〇 Actions you can take in the field
Press the “X” button to display the menu.
In the menu, you can confirm your status, equip weapons and armor, use items, open the Huusui plate, save and return to the title.
There are many treasure chests in the field. You can collect items from the treasure chests with the "A" button.
About the town
There are several towns and villages in this world. If you find them on the field you can go visit them.
There are shops such as inns and item shops in the town. By talking to the townspeople you can acquire important information.
Press the “B” button to dash.
About the shop
In the shop, you can buy and sell items and equipment.
About the dungeons
There are various dungeons in this world. Dungeons may have traps. Guide Jinbei well and avoid the traps to proceed.
You can jump with the "X" button. You can also double jump in the dungeon.
About the Casino
As you progress through the story, you can go to the casino. At the casino, you can play several mini games. Some items are only available as casino prizes. Make sure you try some of the mini games.
About the limited-time events
The game has many limited-time events. The event period and participation conditions will be announced on the STEAM community and our official Twitter.
◇Adventure
The adventure scenes of this game are fully voiced in Japanese with English subtitles. The adventure part alone is over 2 hours long in total. Be sure to immerse yourself in our world of extraordinary stories, brought alive by Japan’s first-rate voice actors.
◇Game Length
The average length is approximately 20 hours, which may look rather short, but this game has plenty of features to satisfy all kinds of completionists. We hope this game will be an addition to your long-time favorites.

First of all the game is highly buggy. Magatama are the worst offender by just disappearing. There are glitched visuals and I managed to fall through the map with no effort at all. Not to mention one dungeon in particular where you have to restart the save if you make a just a single mistake. I could not complete the game, because of a game breaking bug where the map ofthe mountain where you are supposed to fight the Great Monkey clan just wouldn't load.
Movement is very sluggish especially outside of towns since you can at least sprint with spacebar in towns.
The paper doll style of animation is quite unique and the designs look good, but does have problems with clipping at time.
A particularly nice thing is the music and voice acting.
The translation is decent, you can understand everything well and even if not intended it tends to add to the comedic aspect of the game.
Either way on account of all the bugs, game-breaking no less, I just can't recommend this in good faith. It needs a patch then it would be quite alright in terms of visuals, story, gameplay etc.

I ADORE this game. Admittedly the translation is a bit odd at times, but still gives an overall sense of story. The skill unlocks are rather simple, yet sensical. There is a fair bit of grinding, but for those of you who like that sorta thing like me, you'll feel right at home. The art is standout for an indie like this, even if there is some palatte swapping at times, it's sort of a cross between anime and ancient Japanese drawings. Definitely recommended!
Story is interesting as for game play it's similar to Jrpg turn based games, but for this one to progress through the story player needs to grind and grind, sadly even with all the grinding it will take time to get money and points needed to unlock for skills, but i found it more easier to unlock skills needed, as for the first boss fight without unlocking the sword skill it will be very hard to beat the boss unless you have more than 20 health potions and taking lot of time, since the boss health point is hidden it's hard to know how much the player damaged the enemy. With high level and sword skill it's easy to beat boss.
The player looks ugly while walking through the world but when player get's inside castle or places etc the characters and world look nice, also they can run, jump and move more quicker in dungeons while going through world moving is possible only by walking so it takes some time.
Need lot of patience for grinding as it takes some time to get the enemies needed and in some places player won't earn experience faster also after level 7 experience needed goes above 700 and only the super strong enemies give a max experience around 150(mainly after defeating boss) and other stronger enemies gives max 50-80.
Loots are all around the world and opening it gives points needed to unlock skills faster so check for boxes around the game world also boxes lying around in villages.
So basically this game is for those who love grinding a lot, easy to get points to unlock skills but not easy to make money and experience points and need lots of health potions to fight tougher enemies to make experience faster.
My review is more about what to expect while playing the game, to get through the story it will take more time it's not easy to progress through story without lot of grinding.
After I progress more through this game will update my review.
