lot of bugs, fell off the map a few times, 30/31 candles 1 is missing searched everywhere and i never found the last one and the story is not great
stuff this game man. the constant puzzles, let alone the utter pointless puzzles and running to one side to map to the other.
i would love to finish it, but its so broken. im in the demon maze, and with every youtube gameplay they have a jar of paste, i have an empty jar, and i cannot progress passed the horned demon door because i cant use the paste to make a sigil to kill the demon to get the horn.
Boring, tedious, not scary, and there is one specific puzzle which seems to bug out.
I think this game grows on you. A little tricky with the tech to get it going but when set up it is very nice. A visual feast to the eye, the voice acting is ok and sometimes a little funny. Worth a play and i would recommend it. Have a blast.

I did play all games from Stormling in the past and I have to say that I am pleased with "Lunacy" after the somewhat messy "Transient". The choice to concentrate on a relatively small location in which the game takes place was a wise one and it makes the feeling of horror much better than the switching locations of "Transient". But unfortunately it is not on the same level of "Conarium". In "lunacy" I had some tense moments and some jumpscares do their job quite well. Later in the game there is some action and its settled in the story. Personally I am not a big fan of such combined action/puzzle-parts but it added to the tension. Technically I found the graphics ok (some blocky textures aside) and the music does its job but does not stand out. Ryan Cooper ("Leviathan", "Transient") does the voiceover and, again, does a splendid job. The animation of characters needs to be improved though. I know it is a low-budget game but most of the characters break the immersion because of amateurish animation (especially the shadow entities).
All in all I enjoyed my time with lunacy (I got the two endings) even if it did last just around 7 hours. I am encouraged to follow Stormling studios to their next, hopefully even better, adventure ("Conarium 2" maybe?). If you like horror with a bit of action give this one a try, but better wait for a sale.
This game is probably a little underrated as it has some unique ideas and there are some quirks to the game play that make it fun to figure out. The story is a tad silly, but the whole idea of evil being traced back through a family lineage is a smart idea for a game like this.
Pros:
- Graphics and atmosphere are great (Particularly the ambient sound of rain as you are crawling through the dilapidated mansion)
- Quite a bit of variety. You have your silly "find the key item and place it" segments, some stealth segments (Including a part where you invert a cross to go into a nightmare world), and even a light bit of combat with a weapon that wards off evil spirits (Though the combat is totally shallow)
- Story is very tacky, but the idea in and of itself is good. As you progress you pick up pieces of a "family tree" and the whole idea is to seal off the protagonist's ancestors to stop the evil of the town from propagating.
- A few puzzles are clever
- Environment has the interactive element of opening drawers and doors, even though it's not always smooth
- Ending sequence of descending into catacombs is pretty cool
Cons:
- Some of the verbal clues are nonsensical (At one part you have to create a "paste" and it's not clear what the game is talking about
- Probably too many "collection" items.
- One HORRIBLE puzzle in the middle of the game that involves rotating circles to create a pattern. It's actually broken and you either have to spend a long time brute forcing it or keep resetting the game until the randomized pattern matches the instructions
- Could've been a bit longer
- Stealth sections aren't great (They usually aren't in games like this)
Overall:
This is a very good game that I can see a lot of people hating because of the cryptic nature of the game play and slow pace of the whole thing. If you like "hide and seek" style games like Amnesia, it's definitely worth giving a try as there's a decent amount of different things to do and the puzzle element, while deliberately designed to annoy the player, is still mostly functional. It's better than most games that attempt this sort of game play.
It was about 5 hours to complete. I got first the bad ending and then the good ending. Good atmosphere. Decent voice acting. Fun puzzles but a little too easy. Creepy, not downright terrifying but creepy... Occult, demons, mystery, atmospheric horror... if you like these kinds of games you wont be disappointed. Suggest getting on sale for 10$ or so just because its pretty short.
The game starts out promising but as you get closer to Elizabeth's Subconsciousness it spirals into levels of confusing absurdity and continues to get worse from there. It's not worth your time as there are far better titles out there that should be getting your attention than this.
I have been playing for quit some time now (understatement !)
and I do like the game.
The atmosphere is, in the beginning, not really creepy,
but after you have been in the game for a while,
and start to know the enviroment, the atmosphere
becomes creepier.
The Graphics are fine, so no complaints there.
Finding you're way could have been somewhat easier,
the map is usefull, but not very precise.
And I got to a building where an event happened,
before it could have happened!
(A bit cryptic, but I don't want to spoil anything)
so this was a mistake made by the developers.
But, the game looks nice and the puzzles are not that
difficult (except mabye one)
It's creepy enough without being offensive.
So, all in all, I am pleased with the game. : )

The story is solid and intriguing. The premise is, you inherited a mansion and a detective wants you to meet him there. You are greeted with a sinister and dark atmosphere. Spooky and scary. As you progress the game launches puzzles at you, not too overwhelming of complexity, but not too easy either. The story unfolds rather nicely, and what seems to be really confusing, in the end you get it all. And thats a payoff.
The main character has no story arc or character development, a little minus I think.
The game also suffered from various buggs, i counted like 10-20 in my 1st playthrough. But, not gamebreaking and I didnt lose my hair.
The ending was a major letdown, in term of "end boss type style" but the way to get there was super duper fun!
This dev team is small I think, and what they accomplished is truly astonishing! Well worth the price and your time!

I've tried playing for the second time, made it to the post office after killing the entities. Now the skull is useless with the scythe guy, I keep getting killed. I've hit him three times. Running doesn't work, you're trapped.
This could have been a great horror adventure but this nonsense of constantly getting attacked, what is the point?
This game is quite impressive and the graphics are incredible...beautifully done and very immersive.
The atmosphere is outstanding. It really does feel like you are being watched and that is unnerving. The audio is exceptionally well mixed and balanced. It is creep-inducing. The overall impression is that is has the quality of a AAA game.
I'm going to give this game a 3.5/5 .
As a horror lover it started off very slow and annoying.
Puzzles can be glitchy have had to actually restart at a point to do said same puzzle the correct way for it to open how it should have before same entry.
Also had several bugs throughout the game where I'd click something and cant back off it it forcing me to restart at a check point.
Story line was alright 4/5.

Worth The Price Tag? Up To You. I'm satisfied with the purchase but like I said it's the first bit that was annoying to where I wanted to refund.
Starts off really well but the game feels quite unpolished in the second half. The basement levels look like those are still in beta testing.
I would still recommend the game for its creepiness and awesome sound design.

The game is a typical indie horror, you walk, interact, solve some puzzles and progress. Nothing new or revolutionary here.
But unfortunately there were some elements that made my personal experience very frustrating, from very vague and unclear puzzles to dark and hidden paths and objects that were not easy to find or notice.
For example there was an instance that after interacting with some objects a door opened in a complete dark area, I had no idea where was it just heard a sound, couldn't find it and had to look at other videos to see how to progress! Or constantly you have to navigate through dark and hidden paths of the village to get to next objectives which sometimes even the objectives are not clear.
Visually game looks good I think although I felt there were excess amount of sharpening happening in the game. Sound also were really good in the game specially if you play with headphones.
You have option to stealth pass enemies or kill some of them by a gem that you find later in the game. Combat is fine but don't expect something engaging or fun.
Story wise I think it was OK although I wasn't able to fully understand the whole story but there were enough docs and lore to get what is happening in the game I think. There were couple of jump scares in the game but overall it didn't feel that scary to me.
The price seems fair for the amount of gameplay you get, I was able to finish by 6 hours although got stuck multiple times so you may be able to finish it sooner.
I played for about 2 hours. I will continue playing. It has a mysterious and gloomy atmosphere. I had difficulty finding the paths, but when I found the way, it gave me a sense of accomplishment. The horror elements are used quite effectively.
I recommend it.
First off, I must say the level design and audio is great. There's a foreboding atmosphere in the first hour or so with the vibe you're being watched. Lots of subtle noises of creaking and rustling. The graphics are decent and I didn't notice too many assets from other horror games, so that's always a plus.
Puzzles are generally easy, although it did take me a while to understand the four wheel puzzle because I wasn't really taking much notice of the massive clue next to it.
I didn't mind the stealth sequences when trying to avoid Elizabeth but on occasions she spawned dead in front of me whilst I was crouching (I wasn't on any glass either) and I died instantly. It felt a bit trial and error. There's also a part where you have to perform the ritual back at the mansion and there's two piles of glass just before the room you need to enter, with no space to avoid. Needless to say I got caught by Lizzie whilst bum hugging the floor again and died (about 3 times over). Third time I just ran over the glass with no consequence, so not sure if her presence in certain areas are timed. Again, felt like trial and error rather than any tactic.
The shadows of the villagers and the lone reaper became bothersome after a while and I found myself running around them. They took away any eeriness the game had held for so long. Then we have the two sisters and though they were short-lived, I did enjoy their intermittent appearances in various poses - very Kubrick's The Shining! The demon maze levels towards the end were not so stimulating...and perhaps a little corny.
All in all, this was OK with a really strong start but a not so fulfilling end. 6/10
The game has some good moments, performance is actually pretty great on steam deck as well. The rest leaves a lot to be desired, but the potential is there. I will now collect my jester emoji from the devs and move on.
I tried playing but had too many graphical issues. FPS drops from 200+ down to 47 or less on a 6700XT. Will try again later when updates and patches are done. Can't recommend as is though, since for me this is unplayable dealing with the massive FPS drops like Callisto Protocol. I'll change my review later when its fixed.
Amazing buildup to the mansion, The puzzle aspect to the game is amazing. If you love puzzles, and spooky stuff this is the game for you! I can see myself spending hours & hours in this game! Just a friendly advise, Think outside the normal! And touch everything lol!
