This is the first horror puzzle game I developed in 2016.
It was my first time making a horror puzzle game, so I hope everyone understands if there are any shortcomings.
The game does not contain any jump-scare CG flashes, so there’s no need to worry about being startled by CG suddenly~
This game has undergone multiple tests, but if there are any remaining bugs, please report them immediately.

I really liked this game. The puzzles were unique and interesting, especially since rpgmaker puzzles can easily become repetitive. The story is also moving and rewarding as well as realistic instead of optimistic which is a nice change from the good endings always being perfect in these sorts of game. The translation isn't perfect but it is still understandable. It's just overall a great rpgmaker horror game. I highly recommend it.
For the price it's pretty good. It'll keep you entertained for a night or two. If you like these kinds of games you'll like this one. It's got an interesting enough story to keep you invested, and the characters are likable. Got a few good spooks here and there, along with some legitimate skill checks and fun puzzles. Though some of the puzzles do get kind of "guess and check" feeling, it didn't bother me much. There are also quite a few "how was i supposed to know that!?" deaths that can feel rather unfair... But its still a pretty fun game that can be beat in 2-3 hours.
It's worth noting that the English translation is really bad. Words are spelled wrong all the time and most sentences are filled with grammatical errors. It'd be understandable for some grammatical errors occasionally, but it starts to feel just lazy, and it can really interfere with your immersion. Some lines are still straight up in Chinese. Some words are spelled wrong, then spelled correctly later on. They clearly did not put much time into checking the English translation. The bad translation makes a lot of the emotional scenes become kind of silly, as I found myself chuckling at funny mistakes in the emotion heavy dialogue. I'd get really into the feelings of the main character, then the moment would be ruined as the bad translation accidentally makes the emotional sentence into an inappropriate joke (you'll know what line i mean). This game would be a lot better if the English translation was good.
That being said, I think the translation is just understandable enough that it's still worth playing. It won't make the game any much harder and you can still figure out what they're trying to say, so if you can still take it seriously, you'll enjoy it.
Very short game (don't mind the hours that appear displayed on Steam, that's because I played it while working, it's about 2-3 hours tops) in the vein of Mad Father and other horror RPG Maker games. I won't spoil much of the story if you're curious to try it so please be advised that when the dev warns the English translation is very rough, they weren't kidding: it'll help you understand the events but if you can play it in its native language (Chinese), do so as you'll get an overall better understanding. If you can forgive that aspect (the available walkthrough here on Steam helps a lot in that regard!) and fill in the gaps with your internal grammar corrector, you're golden.
You play as Xiaoqi, a young lonely girl who loves reading books and wakes up in a mysterious mansion where soon enough dangerous things start happening and, well, things go deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. The story has multiple endings, good and bad and a true one but overall they carry a certain gravitas and mood to them that I really liked.
Again, it's a small game but it manages to click a few things, like the introduction of a sanity mechanic (which gets affected by gruesome or dangerous events), flashlight/lamp mechanics, very decent save point placement and even the ability to save at any time -although it's tied to some endings- that helps you cope with death, unlike many other RPG Maker titles that pull cheap deaths and moments that force you to backtrack a lot. It even has a splash screen mocking this so glad it takes it humorously. Basically, if you see a save point, save. You know death's round the corner. There are subversion of expectations moments too, which are really appreciated.
Finally, there also are a few minigames dotted here and there (mostly of the simple QTE type) and a few alternate paths and things you can do that are optional. Either way, it's a shame things are tied to the minuscule resolution of RPG Maker (remember ALT+Enter is your best friend) and you cannot take screenshots since the engine does not support the Steam Overlay (the only way is to do the screenshot folder trick) but on the other hand it means it runs on practically anything.
So, yep, recommended! (Again, use a walkthrough if you get easily frustrated and are playing in English.)
Been playing this for more than a hour, and as much as I want to like it, I just can't. Alot of poeple might say '' you need to give it more time!'', but I'm sorry, I don't wanna give this more time. Why? Well, because I often know that I like a game after playing it for half an hour, and after playing this for an hour and literally trying to be atleast a little interested in the game, it failed.
Even though I don't like it, I would still recommend it for the ones that like horror surviving games and animu.
I have just completed this game and I have to be honest with all of you guys this is so good! Yes, there are some grammar mistakes in English version but the storyline is beautifully outlined. The illustration for both characters: Baiyu(Wing) and Xiaoqi is amazing too.
There is a part where I don't quite understand, the password at the end. I asked one of my Chinese friends to help me and she has to Baidu it for me. We think it must related with Chinese zodiac? But eventually we have sorted it out by looking at the guide from Baidu(that's the only part where I get stuck with). There are some struggles in the game where I died too many times, only out of curiosity and that's why you need to save the game when you are unsure about some parts.
I would definitely recommend this game to those haven't played yet or haven't decided to play, just because this is a really good game to play. There are twists at the end, it could be sad or happy but you've got to find it out by yourself.
Lastly, thank you (to the author) for making this game and I wish all the best to you.
(please don't mind the playing hours cause my lapto just being re-installed)
I really love this game despite there are still some mistakes of the translation. The plot is good, and the artworks are cute by the way, I was hoping there are somekind of gallery of CGs in the bonus room there isn't any ... . I like the idea of getting true end through 2nd playthrough and need to trigger an event and fulfill a challenging requirement.
Thank you for developer and translator, hope i could play another game of yours~ ciao!
is it akright if i still ship xiaoqi and wing as well as ship the two developer too lol
[SPOILER-FREE]
Okay, after 15 hours of playing this game, and probably more upcoming, here my review.
First of all, I'm currently talking to the translator and let him know what could be better, what hasn't been translated yet, or any other spelling mistakes. The translator is incredibly nice, by the way! As well as the developer. Thumbs up for that.
Now onto the review itself.
PROS:
* Long and rather detailed story
* Great character development
* Details in the game itself. Try to communicate with everything, most is part of the ending you're going to get to.
* Good jumpscares!
* Great art!
* Definitely belongs in the horror genre
CONS:
- Sometimes it was kind of hard to get a certain ending. I admit I had to ask the translator on some tips for the Good Ending
I recommend this game, definitely! :)
I will be trying to make a guide for this game in English as well!
Thanks for reading!
One of the better RPG Maker games. It's obvious a lot of effort went into this game, as it looks great considering the engine used and is quite lengthy (3-5 hrs to complete). It appears there are multiple endings, though I have only achieved what the game calls "Normal Ending." There is an interesting story here, but it is difficult and confusing to follow, as the translation to English is HORRIBLE. Almost every sentence contains a spelling error, wrong usage of a word, or just bad grammar of some sort. Still, you will be able to get the gist of the story. I recommend this game, but know going in that it contains a lot of text.
