This is a 3D space combat game.You will be driving a transformable mecha to perform missions singly or with your partner.There are large fleet, missile barrage, super beam cannon, dog-fighting and other exciting challenges waiting for you.
The game supports split screen cooperation or confrontation. And there is a custom campaign mode, players can according to their own preferences, free configuration of a battle, used to exercise combat skills.

Edit: 76 hours in and I was not expecting the game to have so much content and features. I'm genuinely impressed and perplexed by the number of different crafts and play-istyles they.
Usually games with this sort of StarFox2 / StarFox Command / GalacticConquest get old really quick, but somehow this game makes it work with a few Quality of life features.
Ive spent so much time exploring each of the different tools and equipment the game gives.
The flight model is just phenomenal once you figure out the tricks you can pull off with it.
It's just about everything I could want from a space mecha simulator

The idea is good, but the implementation is bad.
- The game was first made in Flash (which might not be a bad thing in general), but apparently it was coded in such way that prevented it from being scalable, despite Flash being all about vector graphics. The best author could do is pixel scaling, which looks horrible at 1920x1080;
- The game is only partially translated to English, with many parts still in Chinese;
- Controls are pretty bad, all different for three mech modes;
- UI is bugged in some places (can't access controls menu, wrong message about how to leave a mission...).
Interesting experiment. I like the minimalist graphics.
But lacks in a lot of ways: proper translation, config options, controller support, screen size...
I see many complaints about the controls, but I had no problem with them, except of lack of controller support.
It could be a fun game, but looks like an alpha.
The game is good, the only downside is that there's no controller support so joytokey are recommended.
Other than that, the gameplay is really good, don't be fooled by the lack of texture, it's not easy to write a review for this game since it's a flash game with various limitation, but you could definitely feel the love from the developer.
Without controller support, and only fairly complicated keyboard controls, I can't recommend this game.
I'm not refunding what was, after all, a fairly inexpensive purchase on a sale. But with a backlog of games that follow, and perhaps build upon, the standardization of controls over the decades, I can't yet justify putting a lot of time into mastering its very specific control scheme that doesn't translate to other titles.
The aesthetics and concept are great, and I have little doubt that it could find success on Steam and on consoles if the developer comes back to implement controls that more closely resemble other titles (and they do exist) that evoke the feeling of Macross style air and space battles.
Verdict - Five battlepods out of ten. But still not yet an ace, with these controls.
Surprisingly fun for such a small and cheap game!
TL;DR Great core mechanics and gameplay, brought down a bit by some jank with English text not showing up in the menu and lack of explanations for Star Fields mode.
(Note that this is a relatively low playtime review, I will most likely update it once I got more playtime)
Basically it's Macross/Robotech combat simulator (it even plays similarly to the PS2 Macross game by Sega). Surprisingly there's a splitscreen PvP and Co-op mode (you can use Remote Play Together to play with online friends probably) which is pretty neat.
Combat is very good and each transformation modes feels unique to each other, and of course their own situational uses. Your weapons in each modes are different and you can customize the loadouts.
The game have 3 modes
- Star Fields (which I presume is also the main Co-op mode): you go around a very small map (it's not open world), do training combat simulations, trade with merchant ships, hunt Bugs and No-minds(?) which are the generic baddies of the "story", find plane/mech blueprints and craft them (I honestly have no idea how this works, but it's there).
The devs explained it as "adventure mode where players can travel with a carrier on a star map, collect resources and defeat bosses" (I paraphrased).
- VS mode: the classic 1v1 PvP mode.
- Free Battle: combat mode against AIs (can be played with 2 players). You can freely choose which enemy to spawn, the quantity and even spawn points, you can even make an endless mode. Arguably the best mode.
I will now proceed to list some pros & cons.
Pros:
- Solid combat gameplay. (the biggest reason to buy this game, if you don't like it go refund immediately)
- Decent variety of fighter crafts and mechs, although some have limited transformation mode(s).
- Spiltscreen PvP and Co-op. (possibly great with Remote Play Together)
- Steam Cloud support and Steam Leaderboards.
- Got a level editor.
- Good menu music.
Cons:
- No native controller support. (thankfully we got blessed Steam's controller config, but still a bummer nonetheless)
- English texts not showing up on the menu. (I know it exist, because sometimes it show up)
- Star Fields mode is poorly explained.
- Graphics options are lacking, can't even go complete 1080p full screen. (this might be a deal breaker for some people)
- Battle music (except the boss music) sucks, especially annoying because it gets repeated a lot.
Some extra informational stuff:
In the Control settings the texts would be in Chinese at first, but you can see it in English if you select the P2 or Mouse tab on the top left of the screen, and then select P1 controls again (you can't rebind the default Yaw controls to something other than Q & E for some reason). Hopefully this'll get fixed by the devs, though I won't hold my breath.
I also submitted a Steam Controller configuration for DualShock 4 users with English explanations, feel free to modify it to your liking.
Unfortunately I couldn't understand most of the game and the keyboard controls were unfortunately the only option. I made a review here.
This game gave me a Winter Soldier moment, and returned me to my childhood of watching Robotech with my father. If you are a fan at all of Macross, for the price its more than worth it.
It's like a newgrounds Flash game back in 2007 but thousand times better
The gameplay itself is pretty much what you see. The controls are very unconventinal and hard at first but you get the hang of it. The gameloop is a bit like Starfox 2. You search the grid map for the portal getting you to a new map. Random events occur everytime you move tho.
Has a lot of unlockable units and weapons now which you get as a random reward for clearing these map events.
For such a low price you can most assurely try it out at least.
Sidenote: get the rescue module as soon as possible
EDIT: There is an ingame module with which you're able to play with mouse. You need to equip it and press X in a mission to activate it.
Fucking Siiiiiick. Silver Frame Boiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Best MF 2 player game. Get Wrecked if you stepping in my hood.
If you ever had a need to take a hit of Macross Missile Mania, This is the game for you
The game seems to be not updating anymore and its still in (early access for almost 3 years)

-the controls are confusing as heck
love playing the game but its sad to see the game stagnated :( (2018-2020)
P.S. (its 2022 now I revisited the game it looks the the developer has been making something recently, very exciting)

Haven't played much, but I am sold on the Macross experience.

A really great game which use an excellent way to simulate the Macross missile massacre. I'm sure you will enjoy it if you are a fan of Macross or Robotech or even any other Japanese combat anime.
