Honestly didn't get far into the story but the multiplayer was so much fun, specially when playing with a friend. Buddy and I got obsessed with jet fighters after watching Top Gun: Maverick and this definitely scratched that itch for us, if you like dog fighting give this a shot.
It’s a good arcade type flying experience. Not realistic combat like warthunder, however, the combat is still unique. Would recommend
This game is exhilarating!! The dogfights are intensely enjoyable; it feels so exciting to be chased by other pilots, weaving back and forth in the sky, desperately trying to evade oncoming missiles before finally locking onto their aircraft and destroying them. Playing in first person elevates the experience like crazy. Combine this with the intense soundtrack and I was just hooked for the entire campaign.
The story is mildly interesting but the voice acting was mostly cringe and didn't feel natural. The characters don't speak like normal human beings. But honestly it didn't matter because the gameplay is so enjoyable.
This is basically Top Gun: Maverick the game and I recommend the hell out of it!
8.5/10,高级的空战体验和情绪价值拉满的队友,在2025年来看这个设计也没有过时。
记得用手柄玩,体验比键鼠好的不是一点半点。
AHHHHHHHHHHHH - Trigger experiencing 50Gs of pull
Although good game. Play on console. PC aint it
As a first timer to the series this game is loads of fun with a cool story.
The Aircraft upgrade tree has tons of options and feels impactful
The story of this game is amazing. The graphics are breathtaking. The game isn't to difficult and is at the same time making it challenging yet fun.
Great arcade style fighter game. Its not overly complicated but does have a decently high skill ceiling. I can keep finding new challenges for myself using a variaty of aircraft, parts, wrapons and play styles! The DLC aircraft are worth it and the dlc missions provide a good challenge that did infact up the amount of playtime I put into this game.
Great sorry. Amazing controls. Really fun game play.
Highly fun to move around and fight jets. I just spent my time listening to music while blasting planes. Initially I had some difficulty with the controls since I'm not accustomed to flying so that meant my controls and looking up and down was weird as hell. But I got used to it. Would recommend
This is not a realistic flight sim nor a game with a great or realistic story, but it is the fulfillment of the idea of what if I could play a Rouge Squadron or Blazing Angels type arcade flight sim with modern jets. Yes, the gameplay is throttle max to go fast and throttle min to turn, but the variety of missions, aircraft, enemies, objectives, and weapons keep it interesting and the plot is Mission Impossible enough to keep the story easygoing but relevant. If you have a flight stick and HOTAS this and project Wingman are easy must haves (at least when on sale).
Story: anime fun (criminals get million dollar weapons of war lol)
Gameplay: authentic video game fun
Cons: just needs more boss monsters
Amazingly fun game, with a fun story that in my opinion really picks up by the end, its just in the middle where it lags a bit, playing on normal it wasn't super difficult but i enjoyed it, i believe though that the 3 dlc missions are an amazing addition to the game and the final boss fight of dlc mission 3 is the supremely difficult boss fight that really tests your flying skill that the game needed, all in all a fantastic game that i would recommend especially if it is on sale, and i cannot wait for AC8
It looks great, plays OK in an arcade/sim style, the story is enjoyable cobblers and I really wanted to like it (I date back to the Playstation 1 games so nostalgia was a strong draw) but 5 out of 20 missions in I have to conclude ...
The mission design is more frustrating than fun for me and reading ahead it just gets worse. Anything that is time limited is not my thing. Grinding for new planes or upgrades doesn't seem worth it either.
It's not bad by any means just not for me.
Pulling the Eject lever and moving on.
Ace Combat 7 delivers non-stop action, cinematic storytelling, and intense dogfights that feel incredible on a flat screen. But in VR? It’s a whole different level.
With UEVR and a flight stick, this game becomes a fully immersive experience. The speed, the scale, the chaos of a missile-dodging dogfight — it’s all jaw-droppingly real. You don’t just control a fighter jet, you are the pilot.
If you’ve got a VR setup, this is one of those games that makes it all worth it.
A fun game with an interesting story. This game can present a stunning story and graphics. If you like airplane war games, you might like this too.
No in game configuration for joysticks. In a flight game. Originally launched with no stick support at all, but now if you really want to you can manually edit an ini file to setup your devices. Absolute laziest "fix" i've ever seen.
This was my first ace combat game (and a fighter jet game in general), and god damn I must say the experience was awesome, it's addicting, especially with the more nuanced control scheme can't rember what it was called. All the missions were a blast, especially the dlc ones, but one of them holds a special place in my heart - the mission where you have to stealthily fly below radars through a canyon during a storm and then attack the enemy base, my god that was amazing and I was drinking beer at the time of completing said mission. All the aircraft are viable which is a huge plus, you have some sort of selection of special weapons like lasers, QAAMs, SAAMs, Pulse Lasers etc. all of which are available on different aircaft, so you are encouraged to use more than just one jet which, I think, is an amazing feature that opens ways for a more strategic approach after hearing the brief instead of always defaulting to something like an F15 or F22-A.
I rolled my eye at the story as it felt unnecessarily cheesy and formulaic, almost too forced trying to pull on the emotional strings...
... BUT! I will still give it a positive recommendation because of the gameplay! Well polished, pretty fun mechanics (and variety) of them, balanced as well! Honestly, on that end of things it really felt like an evolution from what I remember back when I played Ace Combat 4 on PS2 days. Kudos to the team on that front!
FYI Multiplayer has been kinda dead so you will need to pull in people to help with those chivos.
OG AC fan here, my favourite being Fires of Liberation with the best sound track ever made. Highly controversial, I know so come at me.
AC7 just wasn't it. Simply, they dialed the corn factor all the way up to 15. Lazy writing, reuse of audio assets in weird times and places, abusive challenges. You'll find yourself quickly displeased in the lackluster and completely nonsensical story.
Note, I am not recommending the vanilla story. Not the DLC which has the best missions in the game.
This is my first time playing an ace combat game and it can say that it was pretty good , this is the best flying game there is i mean is not too realistic not too arcade its the sweet spot (like nfs) . The gameplay is very good id give it a 9/10 and the story is great not some tlou but good 8/10. I recommend this game if you like flying planes and i recommend play it after you watch both top gun movies.
The game is very good, however it said "fuck the week you took" and I lost my medal for getting S rank on hard mode for all missions for no reason. Very tragic
Attention Pilots, this is your capitain speaking, fasten your seatbelts and fire your engines, cause we are going for a fun ride today!
Expect intense air-to-air combat, plenty of juicy ground targets, intense dogfight and enough AA & LA missiles to FOX-2 your a$$ out of existense half a billion times!
You may also meet the local fauna of Erusea, consisting in many different birds of prey including, but not limmited to: F-14s, 15s, 16s, 22s; enough MiGs and Sukhois to block the sun and some Gripens and Mirages trying their best to pose some threat. Be on your watch for the King and stay well away from him, otherwise you'll be no better than a paper plane flying in the rain.
If you happen to encounter awasp's nest, keep calm and don't poke it. In case it becomes agressive, fly fast and manuever quickly, otherwise there will be severe consequences.
For those looking for an extra chalenge, may I suggest using nothing but a good old machine gun? May earn you a medal or even two, if you manage the challenge and the misterious urge to throw your controler and computer through the nearest window.
Looking for fancy game? Worry not, we got you covered. By doing some absurd thing during the missions you can meet one of our many special birds, they have unique plummage and are a must-have for any collector or enthusiast.
Take off for this amazing experience and get ready for a great time!
Not so realistic in hiw jets cary about 6 missiles at max but other than that it is very polished and looks amazing
I'm going to start this review by saying that this is my first Ace Combat game, and I absolutely loved it. I was looking for a singleplayer aircraft game that was fun and had a campaign mode. After playing it for over 200 hours I can say that it's really fun and entertaining. I've never touched the multiplayer mode but played the campaign multiple times with a different "theme" everytime (only U.S. planes, only Russian planes, etc...) so even the singleplayer mode is extremely replayable if you have some ideas. The story is hands down amazing and it took me multiple playthroughs to fully understand it. Pretty wide selection of jets, all usable in every mission and really fun to fly (personal favourite has to be the Rafale: that thing is a beast!). If you're considering getting the DLC's I'd reccomend getting them on sale since they're quite pricey, but still worth it with all the aircrafts and the additional things they give you (the 3 DLC missions are really nice and just add more content). A couple of things I would change are the physics, making them a bit more realistic, and the aircrafts, maybe adding some 1st and 2nd gen planes, or something like the F-111 Aardvark, SU-27 Flanker or the JA 37 Viggen, and making some planes that are in the game playable (F-117 Nighthawk, AV-8B Harrier II or TU-160 Blackjack) . Overall if you're searching for an arcade-style singleplayer fighter jets game with great story and fun mechanics, this is the one for you.
Good use of my flightstick
Good graphics
Good models
Good storyline
Not much lag
i get cooked by dlc's in multiplayer
cooks my gpu
I like planes!
Im going to be honest, I am just playing cuz i recently developed a interest in fighter aircrafts, so decided to buy this game!
It feels great to pilot these planes, visuals could be better but sound effects are well made!
07/10
it's alright, i dont really know about flying plane. Get up from bed is already hard for me.
just looking for something fun for riding a damn jet shoot some shit. it serves me that.
MISSILE MISSILE MISSILE MISSILE MISSILE MISSILE MISSILE MISSILE
It's like I was back in my PS2 days with AC5. Phenomenal game and a huge revival to the series. Can't wait for the next one
Ace Combat is THE BEST arcade air flight game and AC7 is the proof.
I have been playing these games since 1995 (except the X box exclusive ones) and if you want to feel like a cool ace pilot and do a lot of mission and shutting down enemies with style, this franchise let's you do that. These games are not simulators so do not expect realism or real life controls, these games are to feel cool while flying and that is why they are so enjoyable, provided you have an interest in combat planes. AC7 is far from being a recent release, but it is by far one of the most intense entries in the series. Namco, (or rather, Bandai-Namco) are masters at creating fast paced, easy to get into and action intense games and AC7 is one of their best. Sorry, I am a fan of these series so I am a little partial to them.
This is a fun game. I've never played any Ace Combat games in the past, yet the controls were intuitive to pick up. AC7 is a good blend of challenge and fun. Once you start to get tired of the gameplay, you have enough MR points to buy other aircraft and mods that are distinctive enough to spice the game up.
However, this game does not have enough content to make it worth $60. At the time of this review, I have finished the whole campaign and 1 of the 3 DLC missions ($75 worth of content if purchased at full price), and I am only at 18 hours of gametime. Unless you have money to throw around, you should wait until this game goes on sale. I wouldn't play any more than $40 for the base game+DLC bundle, $20 if you follow the "dollar per hour" rule.
how did this game from 13.7k players active each day from 2k average each day in one month, and now its constantly less then 1000..... this game is so good but nobody plays it anymore? like come on, play multiplayer if you are gonna complain about lack of content plsssssss!!!!
This game is fun and a challenge if you wish, still looks good and plays well.
ACE COMBAT 7: SKIES UNKNOWN is hands-down one of my favorite games. The action is intense and immersive dogfights feel exhilarating, with smooth controls and stunning visuals that make every sortie a thrill. But what really elevates it is the story. It's surprisingly emotional and well-told, with memorable characters and moments that stick with you long after landing. Whether you're a long-time fan of the series or new to the skies, this game delivers on every front. Pure aerial bliss.
I love this game but can you add blimps? Like war blimps alla WWI. I really like the cover art because, for some reason, I thought the game was about shooting planes from War-Blimp-Style Home Bases. Maybe arming a flak canon mission would be fun? How about a prequel? I'd buy it!
When everyone thought that Ace Combat was dead after the sixth installment, the game's producer begged the shareholders to give it one more chance. Nowadays, Ace Combat 7 is the highest-selling game in the series, breaking records years after day one. While the story is an average adventure and a retelling of Ace Combat 4, the gameplay and the soundtrack turn an average bombing run into an epic journey full of twists and turns. It feels good, responsive and above all very cheerful despite the nasty stuff that happens in the story, reminding us to push on through our darkest days. For the people new to the series (me), it felt like a beautiful flight above the clouds that gave us a sense of invincibility and unparalleled freedom, but for the veterans this game was a much needed return to form and a great comeback.
"For those who are new, welcome and enjoy the show...
...For those who are veterans, welcome back. We've missed you."
Its a great game but I wish there were a casual mode because i really dont feel like spending an hour trying to beat one level
I had absolutely no idea what was going on, as it is usual for me in all Japanese games, but I destroyed 15,000 green squares, interspersed with a cute tomboy whispering sweet nothings into my ear, so my grug caveman brain is happy.
I could recommend it on sale to fans of arcade shooters and jet fighters. It's fun for what it is but is clunky compared to other similar games, although it does a better job of showcasing some jets. Unless you just want it to complete the series I'd recommend you check out Star Wars Squadrons, Starlink, Everspace, Dakka Squadron, Strike Suit Zero, or Galaxy on Fire 2 first.
+Music
+Options, difficulty, key rebinding
+Fully voiced
+More accessible than many flight sims
+Story/campaign
+Variety of missions, targets
+Variety of planes, weapons, upgrades to unlock
-No mouse support in menus
-Lacking tutorial
-Some incorrect key prompts
-Some awkward controls
-Autosave only
-Visuals often blurry/lacking detail
-Disjointed storytelling
-Wingmates talk but don't help much at all
-Some strict time limits/instant failures
-Mission goals/targets not always clear
-Fairly short
Just beated the game yesterday in hard mode.
What to say... the story itself is a bit spotty and has some no sense points such as the fact that some prisoners have to fight for who managed to put them in jail, with some m@therf@cking warplanes!!! I mean if I could put my hands on a warplane as a prisoner what do you think I will do? To help who jailed me? PLEASE.
Other than that the game is pretty good and challenging especially in hardmode but there are missions that you will easily accomplish while there are mission that are a true pain in the @ss (the last one is insane, it tooks me several tries) so im not sure I am willing to try the ace mode.
The mechanics are good and physics is well developed for an arcade game BUT as someone already said you are the one who will do all the damn things, your companions will be useless, they will fly around doing nothing but shooting paper missles to the clouds... I mean ok but at least developers could make them do something occasionally just to make it more immersive and real.
Last but not the least, it could have few mission more rather than 20 (there are some more but as dlc): the mechanics are pretty "recyclable" in many contests and maps are not so such a serious thing to make since you know... skies are the main environment.
Overall I give it a 7/10, get it when is discounted (got it during bandai event at 5 euros, would never pay for it full price).
Fun! Definitely worth buying. Bought on sale for like $2, can't go wrong.
Storyline and gameplay is really good. also works perfectly on steam deck!
Awesome game, but unfortunately there is a huge lack of multiplayer maps.
A great experience to behold flying through cliffs, hills, military platforms! It is the skys the limit with the flying and you feel like you grow as you complete the story mode. All in all a great experience!
If you are looking for a air combat game where fun takes priority over realism while everything remains believable, Ace Combat 7 is for you.
The story might be a little simple and the English localisation might be a bit weird at times, but that has little to no effect on the playability. The campaign itself is enjoyable and has plenty of replayability potential. The DLC missions are worth a look as they all bring something new to the table.
The multiplayer is a bit of a mixed bag, it is radically different from the Campaign and obviously an afterthought. It is a very hit or miss gamemode (Personally I enjoy it).
The game has one of the best optimisations I have seen in a long time as well.
It's a fun plane game for cheap usually. Don't expect much and you'll enjoy it.
Super fun, definitely recommend playing with a controller.
It's a great arcade-y action game. Each mission is unique and really challenging. I just wish it saved within missions a little more frequently.
Fantastic, fun, fast, flight, and fight simulator! You will feel the sense of achievement when battling in this dog fighting game. It is not a complicated simulator where you need to be a Air force pilot to become a ace fighter pilot. It is an absolutely fun arcade type of game play with outstanding graphics and controls. Also, it isn't going to take up all your computers space with its download.
Gorgeous, I could sit and listen to the menu music for hours
