Where MAXIMUM Action shines is in its emphasis on creativity and replayability. The entire game has been designed as a sandbox for the player to experiment in. From simply approaching levels with different combinations of dives, slides, and kicks, to a fully-fledged level editor allowing players to create action in any way they see fit. Further, use the sandbox menu to replay levels with different combinations of weapons or add more enemies to up the challenge.
And with full workshop and mod support, experiment with hundreds of custom levels and weapons to spice up the action!
Getting the best experience out of MAXIMUM Action requires a bit of creativity and imagination from the player, and I understand not everyone is up to the challenge! But if you’ve always wanted to play a role in your own balls to the wall action movie then I’d say give MAXIMUM Action a try!

the shooting in this game just feels great
Great 1st person shooter
Most games say "We can't give the player too much gear too early on, they should have to slowly unlock better weaponry as the enemies get stronger for the sake of game balance."
This game says "Here's an automatic shotgun with a truckload of ammo, near-limitless slow-motion and several corridors packed with enemies, go nuts."
Absolute banger. Also more games need Max Payne dive moves.

Maximum Disappointment
I have been anticipating this game after seeing gameplay and... I am left hollow after playing this. The AI is buggy and the animations are shitty. I understand that it's supposed to match an aesthetic... but it's executed horribly.
Gameplay is pretty fun... but it's wayyy too easy (one shot kills, really?)
It took me less than an hour to beat all of the levels. Absolutely absurd how 56 minutes of gameplay is $20. I bought this on sale ($13) and I still feel cheated,
If this game was around $10, I would still only recommend it if it went down to $5 on sale.
I understand that this is early access, but cmon.. after 6 years in early access I would've expected more.

Holy this game is fantastic the community as well I can't wait when the game is fully out achievements and more maps etc this game has huge potential. Its like a mix of call of duty with Trepang and John Wick if they would do a threesome and have a baby. Soon this game will come out of Early aces check this game out and love to the developer.

5/5 great game still getting updates
Beat it 3 times within the 7 hours I've played it, can say with 100% certainty it is one of the most fun games I personally have played to date.
This is one of the most unique games I have played. I bought it very early on and keep coming back. 9 hours is not the correct amount of time ive played this game. I'm nearing 45 hours of pure slow-mo enjoyment. I am current running the Test version to help out development. If you purchase the game i recommend you do the same after you get used to the controls. it is a small team of very passionate development. Keep up the hard work it, it shows with how fun the game is!
Has all the pieces of a great game yet all of it feels slapped together with glue and tape barely holding itself together. Core gameplay is janky. When you dive most of the time your camera gets all messed up. I also keep experiencing a bug where my revolver just stops working and i cant reload anymore so i have to drop it and then it vanishes entirely. Audio mixing is some of the WORST i have ever seen in a game. Some things are way to loud or way to quiet. If I turn things down low it doesnt really matter because something still decide to blast at full volume. Like the music, or picking up any of the endless level cassette tapes, or sometimes just some random furniture in the level. Projectile weapons are also completely worthless. Theres a mission where there are multiple helicopters following you around and shooting at you and at the end you get an RPG to take them down, it only takes 1 shot to take them down. It should be easy right? Well it would be if the RPG ever shoots where your crosshair is pointed (it never will). Everytime you fire it, it will fly in a random direction nowhere near where you are pointed. You have to stand dead still to get it close to your crosshair which is amazing in a game about fast paced action where you can die fast if you arent careful. It has been SIX years since this game because purchasable on steam. Does the developer not give a damn about it? He still releases updates seemingly but literally what is he updating? He certainly isnt making the game any better. This amount of jankiness makes it feel like it only launched into early access a couple months ago. This is absolutely unacceptable, and I cannot recommend anyone buying this for maybe another six years. Maybe then it will be a little more polished. Sucks how good this could have been, when its not buggy, which is hardly ever, its a blast.

Surprisingly janky, barren, and incredibly overpriced. Fun for a couple hours. Still feel cheated after buying it on a sale.
Also the neon 80's aesthetic is incredibly grating and vapid. I thought I could ignore it but it tries so hard to cram it down your throat.
A must play for John Woo, Max Payne, Chow Yun Fat, or 80s/90s action film fans.
If you don't meet the above criteria then I would suggest waiting till its out of early access as this early access version does have bugs and the main content can be finished in a few hours however those who love exploring the workshop will get a really good bang for their buck out of it as the Max Payne style combat + the endless mode + the scoring system allows for high replayability.

Little pricy for only 2 and a half to 3 hours but its pretty fun and they way the enimes like wergle around after you shoot them before dieing is always sadifying other than lack of levels this game is more peak than mt everst.

Unironically one of the worst Early Access games I ever played. There are so many Semi-Automatic weapons thrown about everywhere that it makes the entire game just TRIVIAL to play through. As well as the fact that there are so many health packs everywhere you look that any threat that the game would throw at you be a fucking joke. This is not a game for 20 dollars. This is a game for maybe TEN dollars. ALSO- I came into this game for the music and was severely disappointed. A friend of mine showed me a song from it from an earlier version, and it just can't even fucking compare to how the music is now- the music is bland and uninteresting.
