ODW is a stage by stage NES-ish top down action game from way back. You take control of one of the 3 resurrected characters on a mission to nab $100,000 worth of Federal Gold from the Union army. Along the way you'll battle porcupines, Indians, gunslingers, ghosts, confederates, scorpions and more. Purchase stat upgrades and Antiques from Bandito shops, trade in gold nuggets at the Kooky Prospector, and even "heal yourself" from other whores found in the wild. You might even find other NPCs to interact with- Will you help them or be the kind of jerk you read about?
Each character has their own melee weapon and gun. They also have their own unique Gringo Skill. James the Outlaw has the Piercin' Shot which is a 3 bullet spread that can tear right through enemies. Stuart the Drunk has bombs which can explode for huge damage. Blondie the Whore can call upon her special pets (tarantula and scorpion) to help her kill her enemies.
Beat a stage and you'll have an opportunity via slot machine to win either more stats, points, or money. If you're really lucky you might even find your own wanted poster and offer yourself up for lots of cash.
The game has 2 possible endings. If you can find all 4 Ace cards you'll have a chance to play a hand of poker against the devil himself and get the best ending.

I found this game in my backlog just recently...I must have picked it up in a sale several years ago. And it looks like it's been a few years since anybody posted about it. But it's actually a pretty nice tongue-in-cheek tribute to NES games, complete with the smallish scrolling game window and pixelated sprite movements. It's also just as hard to play. But it feels authentic and has the added bonus of original acoustic music. Not bad for a few bucks. (As you can tell from the title, it's also very irreverent and politically incorrect, so avoid if you're sensitive to that.)
Not fun in the slightest, it's somewhat unfair in the way many items tend to damage you beyond repair. Your health can be brought down to 1 hit kill by simply accidentally walking over an item that looks very similar to many others.
It's a very simple game and not one I would recommend to anyone.
Plus almost every single positive review got the game given for free, seems iffy
That said I purchased very cheap and if you want to try it you might as well do the same.
I bought it because it was cheap and had some good reviews. Wasn't expecting what I got. Simple, fun, and snazzy theme music.
I first played this game 10 years ago, and love it. So much so, that I wrote a review for it on -The Daily Click- website back then. Del Duio actually linked to that review in his description so you can read the full text (and see a few more screen shots) there. I gave it a glowing review, and the game still holds up: crammed with 8-bit goodness, real music, a goofy sense of humor, and legit challenge.
This is a game so nice, I bought it twice. :) Wishing DD the best of success on this and his future projects
