Create
You can start creating your ecosystems by placing plants and animals into your world. Having a variety of plants and trees will make the terrain more fertile and allow wildlife to flourish, while animals will begin to earn you points which can be used to purchase various in-game resources.

Nurture
Every animal and plant has its own life-cycle, unique behaviors and requirements, so you need to ensure that each species is satisfied with its environment, has enough resources, and that the ecosystems are balanced. Healthy, happy animals will live longer, breed more, and earn you more points.

Evolve
The points you earn can also be used to genetically modify your species, allowing you to manipulate the traits and behaviors of your species for various benefits. You can also evolve your current wildlife to unlock more exotic plants, trees and creatures.

Progress
There are multiple in-game tasks that can be completed to gain rewards such as extra diversity points or new content. Some tasks can be repeated, making it possible to farm certain plants and animals to receive a regular income of diversity points.

Get Creative!
Equilinox also has a fully sandbox mode where you can place as many plants and animals as you like, plus you can genetically modify them to your heart's content! Create swarms of super fast pink wolves, high bouncing rainbow sheep, pixel art made from colored mushrooms, beautiful low-poly scenes, or anything else that you can think of. The possibilities are endless!

This a great game but it is buggy and the developers have moved on, so there is no hope of fixes. While it isn't expensive it is disappointing. Once the world becomes populated it begins to lag until it eventually freezes and/or crashes. I love the game idea and the cute art style, but it gets frustrating to try to play after awhile.
It's a fun game, but once it gets populated it really stutters and glitches, needs some serious optimization.
Zen natural evolution game, takes less than 10 hours to complete. It is a chill, cheap time sync and relaxation. I do however feel like the various flora doesn't spread pretty far and it ends up leaving a very splotchy landscape that would be better helped by having a little bit more aggressive spreading on all plants.
Super relaxing yet addicting game. Highly recommend for a range of people. The music is beautiful and the gameplay doesn't make you feel rushed or under pressure.
I really enjoy the game, but after populating the world, it started experiencing glitches. My PC is fairly powerful, and during gameplay, the system load typically stays below 30%. However, the game itself begins to freeze periodically, which significantly impacts the gameplay experience.
I hope this issue can be resolved. I’d also like to mention that when I load into my populated world, the game runs smoothly for about 3 minutes. After that, distracting micro-freezes start occurring every 3 seconds, becoming more frequent as time goes on and eventually causing the game to crash. While I’m not an expert, I wonder if the problem could be related to memory or some other aspect getting overloaded. Of course, the issue might be specific to my setup, but I doubt it, as I’ve never had any complaints or performance issues in other programs or games.
For reference, here are my system specs:
i7-4820K 4.5hz
RTX 3060 12GB
32GB RAM
SSD
Windows 10
Second discontent I’ve noticed is that the flora and fauna don’t migrate or spread across the map on their own. They remain within a small radius of their initial placement by the player, which reduces the dynamic nature of the gameplay and makes it less engaging than it could be.
As I said before, I truly enjoy the core concept of the game, so I hope the developers not only address the issue I’ve encountered but also take the time to refine certain aspects, such as the user interface. For instance, the comfortable placement of icons, accessibility of settings, adding viewing filters and other small details could really use some polishing to enhance the overall experience. Anyway Despite my suggestions, this game is quite well-thought-out and user-friendly compared to other similar games, where it clearly stands out in terms of convenience.
My verdict: The game is niche and interesting, but it’s still does not have a final form and not very well optimized. Unfortunately, due to freezing issues, I regretfully have to give this game a negative rating until the situation is addressed and fixed.
I'm obsessed with this game, I love it so much! It's so tranquil and I adore watching the animals bounce about.
This game seems like I would LOVE it but it crashes constantly with no error or anything, just closes. The save files all say ERROR so I am wondering if its an issue with the autosave.
I've looked for fixes and mods but it seems like the game is just not well made when it comes to function since many others are having the same issue. Really sad because this seems really fun.
It's very calming.
this is some good shit
Its like if you made the concept of evolution cutesy and not boring to talk about.
Really fun and chill game!
This game is actually so dope. It's beautiful and relaxing whilst also having genuine challenges <3
its good
regret
i've never been more upset watching grass grow
Really great game! Relaxing, enjoyable and complex, without being confusing! Well done developer!!
A calming point & click simulator, with eye-catching visuals, and a relaxing soundtrack. The game play loop is calming, the customization diverse, with my only complaint being that I wish there were more things in the game (more animals, plants, and a bigger map.) I would highly recommend this game.
It is a very good game, good mechanics but a little tough to play on a laptop, would recommend it is very relaxing
It's very fun :3
At the start this game was fine but later is was really boring, nothing spreads or goes over set limits meaning nothing really happens at all. Also why do I need to do 500 tasks to get some random flower I want??? It takes forever and is just really boring
Pretty little game.
Relaxed game with a charming aesthetic. Quite enjoyable
It's so much fun! Relaxing, cute, i love the chunky polygon graphics. It's almost sims city building like but with nature
Very fun and relaxing!
Eh.
It COULD be a fun game. It doesn't really start you off well, during the tutorial phase. The graphics are small, the controls kind of hard to find, and after I'd done a few tasks, I didn't really feel the need to do more. I'll try reading through the documentation and see if I'm more invested at that point, but they can definitely do more to make the game a fun start.
i tried to play but it wont open the game it just opens a black window with music i tried restarting my pc and re downloading the game. really irritated if someone can help that be great if not ima try to get my money back.
Stayed up too late finishing the game. Beautiful and completely worth it.
XXXX
incredibly calming, peaceful, and absolutely adorable! being able to run smoothly at the highest graphics on my slow pc is also a bonus. a must play for biology nerds!
i'm a bit late to the party, but if a sequel came out today i would 100% be buying.
It was very fun to complete everything, very relaxing game! my only issue is trouble with biomes blending into eachother and the herbivores that don't like that, but its more of a challenge than ruining the gameplay lol
really enjoyed making the swamp habitat and habitats near water
This is a lovely and relaxing little game I really enjoy when listening to podcasts or whatever. At first it appears to be a simple incremental clicker, but you quickly find lots of diversity and room for creativity as you progress.
This game is like a Bullet Train, you feel amazing at the start, whooshing by the beautiful scenery and mind racing even faster with visions of whats next, but then you crash down a ravine because the train tracks are unfinished and no one cared enough to let you know.
Very good base and gameplay loop that very simply needed more content and depth to make it stellar, but it never got that. And with no workshop, modding community or word from the devs it seems like it will never come to fruition.
Sadly follows in the path of the many other 'Life Simulation' games that were so close yet so far.
I'd play to the 10 hour mark, but this is very much a game made for quiet nights, where you just want to chill and watch things grow. I'll be sure to come back to this another time.
Lovely, relaxing game which triggers that dopamine surge I'm looking for everytime I unlock a new evolution or task.
A wonderful, calm little game I clearly (after 177 hours) love very much. I don't know how to categorise Equilinox, really. It's sort of casual meets puzzle, meets Lego, meets management? Except none of those are stressful. This is one of those games I turn on if I'm stressed or very brain-tired after work. Pop a video, podcast or playlist on and just zone out while making a pretty little landscape for all of my lil guys.
The core gameplay loop is this:
You buy both animals and plants with a currency called DP. Every animal you plop onto the map earns you a certain amount of DP per minute, but in order to make sure the animals a) don't die and b) have kids to multiply your DP earned, you need to plop down certain plants. Grass, flowers, trees, lilypads - different animals like different things. There are also rocks and shells and stuff.
If you fulfil certain criteria, you can evolve a new species from another - say, you place some herbs and flowers next to your oak tree. You can now make a sycamore tree! And look, that sycamore will spread another type of biome, which will help you evolve your little sheep into a deer! Hooray! Now if only I turn this daisy blue and evolve it into a tulip, we'd really be cooking...
After a species has been evolved, it unlocks, and aside from getting one when you evolve, you can buy as many as you like with DP.
There are also tasks to complete, which will earn you DP and unlock new things. These also act as the tutorial, walking you through on how to use the basic mechanics.
And... That's it, really. You're just evolving things to get new things to evolve those things with, and getting enough DP to craft the landscape *you* want. I like putting a million huge flowers in the Grassland biome, or evolving my fish to be every colour under the sun and popping them all into the same Tropical ocean. Good stuff, man.
The only downside is that every time I start playing this again, I wind up staying up far too late. Well, okay, occasional performance issues, but nothing that is a dealbreaker. The game is beautiful, clever, cute, and soothes my need to do 500 things at once.

This game is super chill and relaxing. The music is incredible, and there's something very satisfying about building and maintaining habitats. I play this game when I'm stressed out or frustrated and it almost always makes me feel better.
Such a relaxing and engaging game. I love the re-playability , it never gets boring! I like customizing my world- changing the colors of trees and animals to match. You can have fun just exploring the limitations of what's possible (how big can I get the trees to grow?) or just make it as beautiful as you can. Many simple quests/goals keeps it engaging and interesting.
This game is cathartic and addicting at the same time. I love making biomes, but I also like having to evolve the plants and animals in order to achieve a biome. Perfect balance of relaxing and engaging simulation. And even if you finish all of the tasks, the map is so large that you can spend the rest of the game filling it out with all of your unlocked items. LOVE!
great relaxing game. i know its complete but this game has alot of future potential with modding or dlc but for now it is complete until someone picks its development back up.
I found it satisfying and calming to play. Will recommend.
make more games PLZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!
This really is a great relaxing game to play.
This game is a hidden gem, I can't recall ever seeing another game that attempts to actually simulate ecosystem development like this one. It requires you to actually engage with the kinds of flora and fauna you're introducing and how those impact the fauna around it in a systems-driven way.
Great game! Me and my gf both have our own worlds. It's a nice idea that biomes are determined by organisms and organisms can live in specific biomes. So you have to balance, wait for biome to stabilize.
Cute, relaxing way to spend an hour or two.
equilinox is so satisfying until you hit endgame and entire biomes still feel empty. this game feels incomplete but it's never getting updated, so i can only half-heartedly recommend it.
where're the pandas?? who's gonna eat all this bamboo???
