Procedural maze
Get ready to face this huge procedurally-made maze by looking for the exit. Each single game will be different from the previous one because, at your awakening, the maze will change all the paths.
You will have 4 tools to use with your hands:
- Torch: the only source of light that allows you to rip fog and the shadows that populate the maze
- Stick: the improvised weapon that gives the courage to face the most annoying creatures
- Rocks: the best tool to distract enemies returning into the shadow
- Chalk: the best friend to avoid getting lost between dead ends and crossroads
Losing your way is as easy as losing your companions. Splitting the group is never an easy choice, but sometimes it may be necessary.
Your target is the same: manage to escape from this gloomy maze, but remember… the way out must be first opened. Two levers defended by two keepers must first be found and operated to make the exit passable.
Hypnagogia: fear became real
Keep in your mind where you are and be careful on each way you chose: even the right one is full of obstacles. Dark creatures and obscure presences will threaten your journey: how facing them or when avoiding them is your decision.
Learn from the mistakes you make, keep your fears down, study your enemies and cooperate. But remember... Time is your worst enemy: you have only few minutes to solve the mistery of the maze and find the exit.

Love the concept, not the execution.
Performance is a little rough, animations are mostly terrible, the immersion isn't quite there, and the game just lacks a lot of polish.
Played a few matches (easy/30min) with friends and we never found a single lever. Maybe we just don't know how to play, but I can't imagine finding 3 levers in 30 minutes. Honestly not sure why there's even a time limit... feel like the game would be better without one. We're all refunding unfortunately.
I someone does a better version of this game because it would be really popular if done well.

I don't recommend this game unless you have VR friends online to play with. Even then, I would say buy on deep, deep sale only. This is a horror maze / monster chase type game for VR. You can play solo, however, a lot of the fun I think is from sharing the experience with others online and having to "fight" together and coordinate your efforts. These are procedurally-generated mazes so there is replay value although you can get unlucky with the RNG.
There are four tools to use and up to four players can play together online. You can use a flashlight, a bag of stones, a stick, and a piece of chalk. Each item has its use and you face different monsters, each with a different weakness. However, there is one monster that you just have to avoid or run away from.
Your job is to look for the levers and get out of the maze. You can choose easy, medium, or hard difficulties and you can choose between a 10, 20, and 30 minute time allotment. I'm not sure how the time allotment and difficulty level work as far as how many levers there are and how big the maze it. I did find that the map was easier to navigate on the easy difficulty, although it was still pretty big .... maybe too big. You do have full locomotion and snap turning. You also have a tool belt where you can put all the tools if you're playing solo.
The problem is that because the maze is so big and randomly generated, you can get pretty unlucky. I had several instances were monsters spawned right outside the entrance of the gate as soon as you enter the maze. It seems that levers are also a little too difficult to find within the time proscribed, especially with having to handle the different monsters that roam around and having to mark the dead ends with chalk. I also ran into an issue where you're supposed to stare at the witch to get her to leave where she just stayed frozen instead of leaving.
I just found the game overall to lack polish. I did not enjoy it as a single player experience. However, it may be fun with a group of friends. That's the reason why I'm not leaving a negative review. It's not a horrible game, it just wasn't for me.
Rate 5/10. Buy on deep, deep sale, only if this looks interesting to you, and only if you have a group of friends with VR and good internet. I got this for a little less than $3 USD on the Steam Winter Sale 2018 and that feels like the right price for this.
It works until it doesn't
The atmosphere is great when you first start but you quickly become aware of how the 7 enemies in the game work and the spook factor quickly wears off.
The gameplay itself is limited; there isn't much you can do. Your goal seems to be to find 3 levers and get to the exit, but the way this procedurally generated map is designed along with the very limited amount of time you're given to do this makes the task seemingly impossible.
You can only change between 10-20-30 minutes of time, but it's complete RNG how the maze is generated or whether you'll be close to any sort of objective that you need to find. The amount of time it takes to find stuff, while also navigate and leave markings behind leaves you with no time to actually play the game.
What ends up happening is attempted speed runs, where you ignore all the scary stuff (i.e. the point of the game) once you've learned how it all works and you just run around avoiding stuff trying to get to the levers as fast as you can. This seems to be the only way to win currently, unless you get really lucky with your spawn.
On top of the glaring gameplay issues, the game itself runs poorly. There's a type of memory leak in the game which only happens when you tilt your head any amount downwards, so the longer you play, the laggier your headset becomes until looking down basically paralyzes you. This makes drawing markers on floor nearly impossible, and interacting with items on your belt a challenge unless you look up while grabbing for things. This issue was present for both me and my friend.
In the end we both refunded and cannot recommend this game; the concept is there but the execution is very poor.
Was worth the wait, so far was the best coop horror VR game to be released will definitely come back to this every so often for a good challenge.
