Meet up with people like Grace and Bala and complete side quests to build a team, you can mow down enemies with your combined attack power.
Solve block puzzles and timed platform challenges with Shades ocarina to earn gold and even more rewards. Don't forget to save your gold for special items and supplies like bombs and light flower seeds.
If your stuck try the ocarina near floating orbs as not every block moves .
Its dark in the dark palace use light flow seeds to grow light flows to light the way.
Its not always about muscle pay attention to people and solve the Riddler statues riddles to open new paths and obtain new items.
Each monster is different so use the right weapon for the right occasion, bosses are no push over either so use the right tool for the job.
Challenge your self in a hidden special stage with puzzles and boss rush tower to really put you to the test.
the world is split in two time you must sew it back together.

I would fully encourage that every single Steam user plays this game at least once and I hope that one day we can get a sequel that could top this absolute masterpiece of programming, art and audio engineering. I volunteer this game to the louvre. It should have been this game MatPat gave to the Pope. This is, for sure, one of the games of all time and I can only hope this review encourages even one person to partake in such a cultured delight.

Its not great. But you know what, the creator probably had 100x more fun putting it together than I did playing it. So I guess they have the last laugh, huh?
Possibly the most fun I've had with a one-star game. A fantastic use of your time. I got to the end, tho I have no idea how to beat this game legitimately.

I had reviewed this before, but I wanted to give it another shot, without being as mean-spirited.
This game seems to walk the line between "So bad it's good" and "The clunkiest game I've ever paid for". I'll be 100% honest, I had to use exploits and glitches to get through the game. Pause sliding (which ignores collision) is very easy once you figure it out and it can save a lot of time, as well as keeping the blaster's hitbox active while not using it.
I'm a sucker for these kinds of games. They have a certain charm to them, and this one has sated my craving for it. If you're also looking for something akin to this, go right ahead, but do keep in mind the things that follow.
In this next section, I will be much more critical, so keep that in mind. I'll try to be as constructive as possible.
The story is not something to write home about. It's trope-y and, when coupled with the art style, the influence anime has on it is very apparent (Which in itself isn't a bad thing, but it comes off as somewhat generic and uninspired). If you're looking for a satisfying ending, look elsewhere. It would be nice to know what happened to Sadie after the defeat of DarkVol, or some kind of closure for any of the characters.
I could go on for hours about the control scheme and how Sadie controls. But all I really need to say is that there's tank controls with the strangest layout I've ever seen. And even then, movement is slow, platforming is nearly impossible, attacking stuff is janky, and many items barely function. It would probably need the most work to fix, starting with the control scheme. The biggest fix I can think of is to make space jump and escape the menu.
The UI looks very compressed, and the controls menu is somehow much worse. I'd suggest upscaling them so it's actually readable. The menu is much worse, as it seems that the elements are different sizes in each room. This is easily one of the most front-and-center problems with the game, and I feel like it should be fixed before anything.
Also, I'd highly recommend changing the room of the Neko Desert right after the first dark world section in it, specifically some of the characters that are there. It makes for an image that is very, very questionable. If you know, you know.
TL;DR - If you're looking for a clunky so-bad-it's-good game and don't care too much about a story, I'd go for it, but keep in mind you may need to know some speedrun strategies to complete a casual playthrough.
This game is atrocious, in the best possible way. Want to get into speedrunning? Start with this game.

If you're looking to clip through walls and get migraines from midi flutes, then Sword of the Black Stone is for you
Joke reviews aside, this game is much more buggier/harder to play than it might seem (if you attempt to play it casually) due to serious issues with bugs or the game's general design.
Examples include:
- The game failing to indicate to the player where they need to go in order to progress
- Glitches that have become prominent for speedrunning (such as letting go of forward when a text box appears on-screen) can lead to the player's character frustratingly no-clipping out of bounds and plunging to her death
- Saving only saves which level you are on (which means that, when you continue from the main menu, you start at the beginning of the map rather than where you left off)
- ...and - probably the most game-breaking issue - sometimes the game won't even bother to load level/puzzle-critical items (such as the second level, which is supposed to be a box-pushing puzzle, but on my first play-through the game didn't even bother to spawn the boxes, leaving me stumped on my first play-through).
Other issues with this game include:
- Awkward non-remappable keybinds/controls
- Horrible repetitive MIDI soundtrack
- Amateur graphics (why is the HUD so low quality, even on Fantastic graphical settings?)
- Automated dialogue/cutscenes progress too quickly (then again, maybe that's a blessing)
- And a bucket-load of bugs and glitches (including the aforementioned object spawning and cutscene noclipping issues) which make the game harder - if not impossible - to play casually.
IN CONCLUSION:
If you're thinking about playing this casually, and are tempted by the game's low, low price, don't even bother. This game is soo incredibly broken that you won't get far into the game before your patience runs out.
If you're thinking about buying this game so you can speed-run it, feel free, but frankly there's tons of other games out there that are more worth your time/money than this.
If the developer of this game is reading this, I'm sorry to be harsh, I'm sure you put a lot of time and personal effort into this game (no sarcasm intended), but if you're going to charge people money for a game (especially a buggy, almost un-polished game like Sword of the Black Stone) people deserve to know what they'll be getting into if they buy it, and thus whether it's worth their money or not in the first place.

this game is totally unplayable. but damn. what a piece of art.
As a connoisseur of Zelda games I would have to say that this is my favorite one in the entire series. If you are thinking about picking this game up, please by all means let it slide right into your Steam library.
