Xbox One.

I mean, this game is kinda bad. Camera constantly clips on environment, the combat is hella clunky, the voice acting as well as writing are sub par and the character models look like they literally came straight from one of those sex games that exist solely to sell steam cards.
The weapon upgrade system completely bugged out on me, and a lot of my gametime was spent backtracking through heavily dated maps aimlessly looking for collectibles. Some achievements appear broken. There's a huge amount of character customization, however almost all of it nonsensical like bunny ears and minipants.
And yet.
There's something about the ambition here. The devs obviously cared a lot about this game, and have pulled in influences seemingly from the most random reaches of pop culture to deliver a strangely compelling game world. There's zombies, mutants, kobolds, hell they even threw in a unicorn (or was it a pegasus? one or the other) for seemingly no reason whatsoever. There's a shadowy government organisation that for whatever reason has a base on a space station orbiting earth.

I cant pinpoint where it happened, but somewhere along the way my reaction shifted from cringe to oddly endeared and found myself caring about the story. Why? Couldnt say.
I must go now, there's ghosts to exorcise and friendly mountain trolls to help.
Embrace the jank.
Fun little adventure.
------------------------
This game for some reason reminds me of Deus Ex and The Secret World.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You get to visit some strange places and fight weird creatures and meet crazy allies.
Voice acting is kinda soothing, almost ASMR, i kinda like it, especially Lux. Relaxing.
You also get to customize Lux with various clothing, accessories and hairstyles that you get as a loot from enemies, this can be quite addicting at times.
Each crazy map also fun to explore.
-------------------------------------
For such a low price, this game is quite fun and relaxing to play at times. Definitely recommend.
I understand this is a small, single-dev project but it's been going on for years and the improvements it definitely needs have not materialized:
- animations are janky and awkward
- menus are annoying to navigate (controls do not switch from gamepad to keyboard mouse and back)
- combat feels stale, there is no reaction to damage/explosions, physics are almost non-existant
- non-skippable dialogue, need I say more?
- horrible lighting
Instead of making fundamental quality and quality-of-life improvements, the dev releases minor bugfixes and more "outfits" periodically.
Game is somehow buggy but the good part is : if you face a problem and report it to the developer He/She listens carefully and fixes it then this is not an abandoned game by developer
Story and game play are fine
The biggest strength of the game is : ( Lot of clothes and hairstyles are waiting for you there )
i have finally gotten all achievements all collectables all weapon upgrades all skills and all steam badges. i have become the master of resequenced and now must have resequenced 2 to become the master of that as well
at first it seems like a survival horror game. then you kind a notice a little clunky in the controls, but after that the story is interesting. its got good weapons and powers. the graphics are nice nothing over the top. i personally think it could use some real world physics. its not a hard game at all
I really want to like this game; it is a good premise and storyline for a game. But the overt wiggle of the main character is demeaningly "high school", and the game suffers from a combination of Unity engine limitations and some decidedly cumbersome user interface choices that really detract from the gameplay, such as requiring double buttons/keys for anything of signifcance you do.
As to keys, surely if you can detect whether the user is playing with a controller or mouse/keyboard, you can dynamically display appropriate messaging for what buttons/keys to use. I found the message that [T] opens the chatty bot rather unhelpful for mouse and keyboard, and only fluked across the fact you use [Esc] on the keyboard. If you're going to go to the effort of telling the user how to use the game, it has to tell the story in terms of the user interface the USER chose, not the developers preferred mode of gaming.
Add to that the fact I'd have lost all my progress had I started playing the game before the latest patch came out, and I am just not willing to invest my time in this game until it matures - a lot. I think it has a lot of potential, and hope the developer can live up to it.
The only saving grace is I got my copy on sale. As I consider this a "pre-release" product that likely won't be ready for *playing* until 2.0, and effectively a "go fund me" delivery model, it is what it is. I have enough hope that I don't regret parting with my coin; I have many other games to play while this one ripens and matures. :)
This game is the the best worst game I've played in quite a while, It's this weird combo of a very ambitious game and a very scuffed game, landing somewhere in between. It is fun even though it's very janky at times, especially the combat. The amount of character customization is great, story is alright but kinda has a weird presentation with the massive subtitles and still frames of the character heads. had that been scratched or toned down to something like warcraft 3 for example, could have had a talking head animation on loop instead, because there is lipsync on the characters but you completely miss that looking at the very poor looking stiff images. And had the combat been more fluid and worked better, and some further overall polish I would really praise it. But for what it is right now, it surprised me, I feel like I had more fun than I should have. For this price, it's an ok game for a gamer on a budget looking for something to play.
The best way to describe Resequenced is "The worlds most passionate asset flip." This isn't intended as a swipe at the developer or game, but a description of the feeling this game creates. It feels like a mish-mash of everything, while adding up to nothing.
I can overlook the inconsistent visuals, where you'll be playing a high res character in a cartoony world fighting against low poly soldiers from the PS2 era. The requirements for making a game are high and there's no shame in a small developer using the assets they can afford.
But mechanically, this feeling of the kitchen sink persists despite genuine efforts to enjoy this game for what it is.
It features 4 psychic powers that all seem to be different particle effects but work the same and have the same effect. In theory, each enemy is weak versus a single type of power.
In theory, It also features 8 guns that you can use to best handle whatever enemies they throw at you.
So why the "In theory"?
You have a handgun that fires as fast as you can click the mouse and has unlimited ammo that can handle the enemies without the fuss or the trouble. Lock on, click fast, repeat. Even the "We can't possibly win this" fights fell immediately to the click.
Everything has this feeling that it was added to the game because it was part of a pack rather than designed into it. You have camera filters that don't actually work with the models or gameplay, loads of weapons you don't need, "Collectables" that look like random bits and bobs (Crates/Laptops/Posters) to earn XP which allows you to buy percentage upgrades to this like "Handgun Damage"
This becomes a real problem in the level design, because it doesn't feel like there is any. The levels I've played all feel like the map was bought, collectibles dropped in randomly, and then then added to the game. The design is just nonsensical and it hurts the experience.
About the only thing that feels original is the voice acting and I'll absolutely thumbs up it. It's why I'm confident that the developer is trying hard to make a good, original game and the heart is here.
But, at the end of the day this game just isn't fun to play. I can thumbs up the efforts and tell them to keep at it, but I can't tell anyone to pay for this.
The voice actors either think they are doing public service announcements or ASMR. Except one dude that thinks he is claptrap. Very clunky interface and janky combat. The tasks are very basic and bland. They really could have made this a walker and focused on story telling. But, so far even the story is uninspiring and hard to focus on due to the lazy voice acting.
i enjoyed the open world and semi open world concepts along with the visuals of this game the most, and as soon the patch for polishing up on the actions, events, and the relativity between the player character and the npcs is available, I will be downloading that patch asap. Thx.
Upvoting just because I think that "mixed" reviews are a little unfair.
Can't say much about this game. It's a bit rough on the edges, but it isn't bad, it's a relaxing walking simulator with some shooting and customization.
A Unity made game that has some graphical problems and framerate issues, but a decent storyline and interesting level design and locations. Its soundtrack is ok, some sounds are a bit loud and some are a bit quiet, the voice acting is reasonable.
Pro's:
Large levels, graphically pleasing.
Wide variety of cosmetic options, many weaponry and "power" choices. Clear hud (if a bit tiny), nice sharp graphics and ran reasonably well for the most time.
Cons:
Framerate issues - it ran at 643 fps, so i used Geforce to limit its frames to 60 and that helped.
In the forest level, the fps dropped to 20 and the game ran in slow motion - this caused "trigger" points to not trigger, meaning i ran around for nearly 30 minutes looking for a quest marker that hadnt appeared. Quitting to the menu and reloading brough this marker back.
Levels are TOO large - sometimes only 5 enemies on a level, and lots of unused space. You can end up walking around for hours in un-optimized levels with bad lighting looking for markers.
Controls are sluggish on mouse - no options for raw mouse input or no mouse smoothing.
Sometimes menu's with "left" "right" toggles loose their toggles. Sometimes enemies dont move. Lots of guns and powers - very few enemies per level.
TLDR:
visually impressive, poor framerates, massive levels with little to do in them, lots of choices...maybe too many?
I cant recommend it in its present state, as it feels unfinished - bugs etc - what is this game supposed to be? Not enough enemies for a shooter etc. I liked it, i wish there was more shooting in it (but thats just me).
7/10
If you like the X-files, ridiculous puns and humor, and dressing up ladies, then this is the game for you. I think I'm only about half way done with the game so far, but here's what I got for you as of now. May or may not update. p.s. sorry in advanced for a wordy review, i cant stop myself.
I'll start with the cons to get it out of the way: controls are weird and not intuitive at all at first. I'm so used to an aim reticle that the auto-targeting system took some getting used to. I also ended up remapping pretty much all of the controls, but the fact that I COULD remap them was nice. The screen resolution options suck, but I personally don't really care. I just run it in windowed and let it bleed onto my second moniter and it doesn't seem to effect the game in any way. There's a lot of clothing clipping on Lux, and certain items don't follow her body when she crouches/rolls/ect. It's easy to get trapped on/around/inside things if you're not careful; however it's easy to exit game and re-enter and not screw yourself by being stuck in a place if you do encounter an issue. I didn't even have to recollect the collectibles. Woo! Also just for the dev: either Sollix's portrait or character model was swapped with the troll with his lil troll son, and a spelling error on a letter from sollix to his troll buddies. Idc about these things, just figure I'd add it.
Now for the pros! This game really has so much potential. I love the story so far. There's something really appealing about being a myth detective with super powers. I personally really dig the character customization. That's probably 80% of the reason I even bother playing video games tbh. The characters are interesting, in the way that you don't exactly like them all, but that's because they're written well enough to be dickheads. But for the most part, I love pretty much every character I've encountered. I even managed to feel something when a character died after only dealing with them for one short chapter. They did a good job of making them seem like an asshole, then turning them into your friend, and then TAKING THEM FROM YOU CRUELLY. I really liked them... good job devs. The writing is really good, too. I actually take the time to read the notes, pay attention to the NPCs, and genuinely enjoy the banter between Lux and RHETT. It's smart writing, but doesn't take itself too seriously either, and I like that balance. The environments are really spectacular, and I legit never knew what to expect next as far as what location or problem I'd be dealing with. Though, sometimes it feels like I'm searching around for nothing. I wish the world was more interact-able-with. How dare you show me a dude break-dancing who DOESN'T CARE WHEN I DO THE CHICKEN DANCE NEXT TO HIM LIKE BROTHERs. That being said, there are still plenty of collectibles to keep you entertained, or at least keep me entertained. The voice acting is pretty decent considering this is an indie game. I was really happy with it! Lux's VA sometimes sounds like there's background noise, but honestly I didn't pay attention to it enough for it to be immersion breaking. Overall I really like this game and understand it's still in the works in some regards, and appreciate seeing an active dev team. I can't wait to see what else you guys put out, because this was a diamond in the rough. If yall are hiring hmu i want to be part of ur world lmao. TOMORROW I BEAT IT.
IDK Whats going on to be honest. I was going to continue to give this game a chance, after all it is under $10. However, the combat is a hot mess. It gives you a gun before you even teleport to the first city area, The controls say press up and down for psychic attacks, and left and right for weapons. or something to that effect. Up and down changes your magic attacks but pressing right and left does nothing. I have a gun, I can see it on the character model, I can see it when I open up my weapons. So why can't I equip it? So then you have these power attacks that ... work I guess but damn I really wanted to use the gun. How do I bring out my weapon? Why is it not intuitive? Aside from moving the character around pointing and shooting should just be easy and come naturally. I mean what else is there to the game? Blowing up barrels and boxes? If its gotta be convoluted then you could at least give me a break down of how to do it? The psy attacks all work the same way I think, Ball of colored light appears in the center of your target, (which is hard to aim because you can randomly aim at trash on the road for some reason) and then it explodes and damage is dealt. I guess there are different elements? Is the blue one freezing them? There MUST be a cool down or a recharge going on here but I can not for the life of me figure it out. It doesn't seem to be represented on your hub. You attack, then you can't for a time then you can again. IDK why. To say this game is an exploration game .... I guess you technically can say that here but its about as bland as exploring an original Counter Strike map. Roads are way too small, and the placement of items is just .... ok so itll have like destroy 10 laptops, barrels and boxes so as you walk down the street, in a very patterned way you have a laptop, a barrel and a box just lined up on the side of the road 10 yards from each other. Its so weird. And to blow up the objects you walk up to it and do an energy blast? and it explodes? Would like to have played more but when you die from the fourth or fifth enemy you encounter because you're trying to figure out how to take your gun out and shoot it in a modern computer game and can't do it ... well it kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth. Bottom line, not worth your money.
I really wanna give it a try to this game.. But for some reason the game goes crazy on me!, for example when I start the game the monologue story cuts off before the character finishes talking along with her voice as well.
Gameplay feels as if i'm using a Speed cheat that makes the game way way too fast!. I'm playing on a 2k monitor 144hz and don't get me wrong, the frames on this game are very very solid and I don't lag nothing, yet the gameplay it's way too fast. I watched on youtube a normal gameplay and of course the game speed it's normal, character doesn't run at the speed of light.
I'm probably assuming that maybe there's some bug that playing this game on a 144hz monitor makes it go fast. I tried lowering game settings to low just to see if I could make the gameplay at normal speed but it didn't worked. I don't want to return the game yet since it looks interesting to me, but this bug it makes this game completely unplayable.
I googled a solution to this issues but so far I have not found any.
I think this game would be better off being a walking simulator, the Poser-like made models and Unity assets aside.
It's Pretty and it's stylish, but the weak game mechanics are very simple collect-a-thon and fetch quests.
I have no idea who this game is aimed at... pre-teen girls?
It seems the Devs care about it and it's not a asset flip. But nope as a game.
Love the story. the gameplay, the chapters, the cool clothings stuff overall. Great fun. Please support this game more :)
An ambitious Indiegame with potential (Story, Voiceover) and flaws (Bugs, translation issues). But its still in early access, so there is hope. There is a lot of clothing and accessoires to unlock.
Gameplay:
https://youtu.be/IG7zdEqq0n4
If or not you'll like it, is obviously based on your personal view. So the video might help.
NOTE: My recommendation for ReSequenced may change dependent on several factors, but as an Early Access title, it isn't worth it.
The game has an interesting, if hard to follow, story about a shadowy group that seeks to... do something. That's a well-done part, if you don't know EXACTLY what it is they are attempting to achieve until it suddenly clicks in your head.
1) Gameplay - Overall, controls are fine when you're simply running. I AM slightly annoyed by the inability to jump, which in regards to many games like this, is standard. The scanner is a VERY helpful tool, though I do not believe being locked in place while it scans to be a very effective means of locating collectibles and such.
Combat is abysmal. I know it's an early access title, but if you're going to have a combat system reminiscient of Bioshock, where you switch between "DNA Mods" and firearms, make sure that it feels like genuine combat. The AI is braindead, running at you in a straight line, while your starting pistol - an M1911, to be exact - feels like you're shooting them with water with how little it actually does. You'll be sticking with Mods for most of your playthrough.
2) Voice Acting - Honestly, the voice acting could be a lot better. It feels like the VA's that were chosen more or less 'phoned it in,' as the phrase goes. The voices are distinct, but they lack emotion, playing out as flat as a cardboard cutout sometimes. Even the main character falls victim to it.
One of the main people you talk to though, an Agent, his is actually pretty spot-on for his voice.
3) Graphics - My major gripe with this is the character stills that pop up during speech moments. They look like screenshots from the popular software Daz 3D, simply with a removed background. The in-game models are far better than the actual character stills, and would work far better.
Textures are rather blurry at times, and can be rather obtrusive at times.
All in all, it's an average title for now, but because it's an Early Access title, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and hope it gets better.
Good luck to you.
