Алан Уайт приехал на охоту в загородный дом своего деда. Спустя какое-то время по радио начали объявлять о странных, неизвестных объектах, летящих к Земле.Оказалось это были корабли пришельцев. Произошло вторжение. Города разрушены, а вот до Алана пока не добрались. Он решает остаться и дать отпор пришельцам.
С вами будет ваш верный пёс - Джуниор. Стройте ловушки и различные сооружения, взрывайте, исследуйте игровой мир, отбивайтсь от различных инопланетных существ и мутантов, развивайте свои навыки, найдите способы уничтожить пришельцев и остановить вторжение, разгадайте секреты секты "Свидетели второго пришествия" и много другое...
"Как бы я повёл себя после вторжения пришельцев?" - на этот вопрос вы найдёте ответ в "When They Arrived".

- повышайте свои навыки, выносливость, урон, скорость и т.д;
- выживайте, ведя борьбу с неизвестным для вас врагом, попытайтесь остановить вторжение;
- соберите чертежи и найдите необходимые запчасти НЛО, чтобы создать технологию пришельцев, с помощью которой они открывали "кротовую нору" в пространстве и времени;
- отремнонтируйте старый скафандр, соберите необходимое снаряжение и отправляйтесь на Марс, чтобы уничтожить плацдарм пришельцев;
- и многое другое...
Марс в When They Arrived
Марс пока что не добавлен в игру, но работа над ним уже ведётся. В последующих обновлениях игры мы его доработаем и добавим.
Сейчас мы стараемся сделать максимально реалистичные условия и геймплей на Марсе, чтобы вы могли полностью погрузиться в атмосферу игры и красной планеты!

One of the most realistic experiences about alien invasion I have ever experienced. This game kept me engaged and enthralled for nearly half my life. The days of building a relationship with my dog are event I will never forget. The day they took my grandpappy will forever be scarred into my memory, and this game helps me heal by reliving that same experience.
This game is really bad, its glitches and crashes every other action and is borderline unplayable.
Not recommended. Awful graphics and voice overs and a lot of bugs.
Don't bother wasting your money or hard drive space. This game came out in 2018 but Halo Combat Evolved gives it a run for it's money. It is such a lose game with no script on what you should actually do. Not to mention the bugs. this game is a huge cash grab and a waste of time. However, if you bought the game let me help you out by telling you to press L and get it all looked at cause that's about as good as it gets.
I wanted to like this game, despite the negative reviews it has received. I started to play the game 3 times now. The first time I put all the petrol in the 4wd, leaving nothing for the generator, and I couldn't find anything else for filling the generator. The second time I restarted the game, filled up the generated and saved the game. When I later continued the game everything was white (like being in fog).
I do not want to restart again only to find out later I've ran into another bug: there are plenty of other games that do work.

This is trash. Most buggiest, amateur game I have ever played on Steam. The devs making a remastered from THIS buggy, unfinished trash. Fix your garbage first, polish it then start remastering it, please.
Not worth it at all. Shitty graphics, low quality audio, and overall poor gameplay. Not worth the $3 Steam charges
The game is really buggy. I started the game multiple times, due to falling trough the floor, or the ui completly disapearing. At one point, I just wasn't controlled by gravity any more, and Items I had collected dissapeared, if there were not enought space in the inventory. Also the dialogue just kept repeating the couple first lines, when re started the game, even when I wasnät in the first cabin. So I am not exxagerating, when I say, that the game has a lot of issues. Nothing really happened in the game while I was playing it. I didn't see any aliens, or anything dangerous looking. The game looks nice, and there are a interesting places you can check, but nothing really happened in any of those places...
Sleeping for one hour is actually coma-mode.
If you get more items than your inventory allows you start destroying all items you touch.
Skinning deer is actually coma-mode.
Dog stuck on door, it's been two days, dog status unknown.
The steam pictures show me a fantastic impression, but when I actually play it, it looks really bad, the idea is good, but poorly executed, maybe my computer is not compatible?

The game tells me to turn off VBLANK to increase framerate. I go to settings, all I can change is resolution. I accidentally hit that adjustment button, turned it to 640x480 and can't turn it back. Like if you state that the settings have actual more options to set and there is not, just the obvious resolution thing (which bugs out, that you can't turn it back) well...
In the pictures I see beautiful grass. When I play, I see a flat picture on the ground of grass, not the animated 3D version of it. Kinda dissappointing...
I come across a store, I take EVERYTHING from the store... Then I find out, that my inventory isn't that enormous but the items I "collected" are stored in the void. (thus gone)
Well, I fell through the world after I made a screenshot of a deer running past me. And then just quit, because I didn't wanted to go through the enormous long loading time again.
Leaving the game for what it is, will come back when the game is further developed. It should be in "EARLY ACCESS" and not as a fully released game. Too many things going on which need to be throttled, tweaked, fixed... Like more compatibilities, there are more systems out there then just one...
I am sure the game is fully playable... But I don't want to play it in this state... Sorry!
I do look at system requirements, when minimum requirements are still met, the game should be playable, otherwise they need to revise their minimum requirements

I don't know what to do with this game, it's boring :D. But, I like this game....=))
My opinion on the game, I like the idea of an alien invasion and you have to survive buy any means but the game just feels to clunky and I couldn't move my character very well while on the atv. Some of the mechanics wouldn't work like I couldn't build and couldn't use the pickaxe.

This game is not finished. Framerate goes from 79fps down to 3-5fps about every 5 seconds. the content may be offically complete but there is more work needed on this game.
There's a lot of things about the game that are easy fixes that would turn it into something I think a lot of different people could be interested in. I would love to be able to help the devs on just some tips and advice of my opinion on things that need some adjusting. For starters, changing some of the sounds, like when you sleep and the ticking noise in the regular audio. I feel like you should be able to open cabinets and the fridge, but that can come in a later update. What I think really needs to happen is to work on the game crashing when you load in, I've fell through the floor of hte world numerous times. And then you go to sleep, the game most times gets stuck on the "sleeping..." screen. I really think this game could go further, much more so, it just needs some work and I wish I could do more on it.
I decided to play something new and cheap. I got this game. I want to highlight the main points. The plot is quite interesting, but there are very tense moments. Also, the game weighs a little - that's a plus. When you first start, you can go deaf, so remove the headphones. With regards to the price / quality ratio is balanced. Any more serious minuses no longer found.
Pretty cool game even in early access. I loved the unique story and interesting solutions in gameplay. Controls are ok, graphics are ok, but need a bit polish, sound is ok as well. I'm completely happy with this puchase and can recommend When They Arrived to any survival genre fans.

I liked this game very much! Thanks to the developers for such a good game. This game has enjoyable control of movement and fighting. Also I have been impressed by original and interesting stories about the UFO invasion. But the game also the problem : it is a bit unoptimised and I hope developers fix that soon. So my final review for this game is 8/10.
Tons of localization issues.
There also isn't a whole lot of content.
The game says to hunt a deer but I walked for a long time and saw exactly zero non-bird animals.
UI is extremely clunky.
Sounds weirdly come in and out and there are repeating voices in the background of the ambient tracks. Why?
This might get better, but right now, it is a mess.
