Complet-ed this game 100% achievements, game buggy and scuffed but for a 3 hours adventure i really recomand it for buffy story and random bullshit, for 100% please dont get this game it was an adventure learning new programing languages to create a bot to farm xp for 3 days so I could get to the max level, also all the 5 difficulties are basically not a change from the level 1 difficultie , more exp and more combo needed to deal dmg, overall wanky adventure for 3-4 hours is fun but for 50 hours 100% was a pain in the ass.
"Infernal Radiation" is a rhythm-boss-rush-game with lite RPG-mechanics.
The satirising design has it's charm, but the color-palette is really muddy, the game is way too dark to look at and the story is (while intentionally dumb and tongue in cheek) convoluted, irritating and riddled with typos.
Nevertheless: The combat feels kind of nice and rewarding once you get the hang of the momentum.
Maybe recommended for fans of unfiltered indie crudeness, where ideas and issues form a somewhat interesting dance.
Let me start off by saying this game isn't all bad, it had effort put into it and it's not just some cash grab or student project type of game. I had a few glaring problems with the description which was part of the reason I decided to try this game out. This game is NOT a clicker game. This game is NOT an arcade game. This game is an exploration story based walking simulator RPG with a simple battle sequence that becomes more difficult as the game progresses. (I played this game for about an hour, but Steam glitched and erased all the time on it so I had to reopen the game and let it run for 5 minutes to do this review) Pros- the atmosphere is solid. It's exactly how it looks, giving you the immersion of sort of Lovecraft horror using exorcism to defeat enemies- the battle style, while simple, doesn't make the game feel like a complete breeze even on easy difficulty- if you're into storyline, it seems to be well themed and I didn't notice any grammar or spelling mistakes (I found it kind of hard to say good things about this game because of the cons, but also because it's not really my style of game. I honestly thought I was getting a clicker game, and it's very much so not that)Cons- they have the "I'm going to force you in this direction" way of the game unfolding. There's no real pathing the game pushes you toward, so once you finish a battle, you have to walk around the entire area trying to find what fire went out or what path became clear for you to progress. It's more walking simulator than anything else, but the area you're exploring is the same area you've walked through multiple times to go to the next fight. I'll give an example; The only way to go in the beginning is up the stairs and into a building. You clear the building, then you have to go back out and a new path opened up outside. There's no indication this happened, nothing points you in this direction, and this is every single section. You're locked into doing exactly what you need to in order to progress, and that's always a fight.- The fights are all the same. The difficulty raises, sure, but it's always against one enemy, they all throw orbs at you with various effects that you can reflect, and you have to hit them in between reflecting. That's every fight, and every fight is not only mandatory, but they lock you into it when you go into an area (as in you lose control of your character and it walks up to the enemy like it's an old school cutscene) and you have some cheesy dialogue before a fight, then every fight feels like a boss fight, then the same effort of dialogue after the fight before you get to progress. Is this game even a game? Or is it a story with a bit of gaming aspects thrown in? This is a terrible situation for me as I normally go for gameplay and skip dialogue, but that's the majority of the game I've seen- The battling aspect makes almost no sense. It's very clunky. You have to wait until both you and the enemy are glowing to attack. Sure, makes sense there I guess. Why make it both though? I spent the entire time watching myself instead of the fight because the focus is drawn to just you. That's not really a big deal because you're never glowing if the enemy isn't, it just seemed like a waste of time to make both glow. If you try to attack when you're not both glowing, it will stun you. You can't attack or block while you're stunned and if you try, it will continue to stun you, starting over the stun sequence. This is a terrible flaw in a game where your only main aspect of gameplay besides walking around looking for the next path is this fighting, and if you get off beat once, it can ruin the entire fight for you as you try to fix your problem. If you're making it so I can't attack or block while stunned, Why make it so I can continue to stun myself by trying? That's like pushing someone onto the ground, and if they try to get up, they'll be punished, but they're prone so trying is their only chance of helping the situation. Then, the worst part of this aspect; reflecting attacks back at the enemy does NOTHING to the enemy! So you're saying if someone throws a grenade at me, then I throw it back at them and it explodes right at their feet that it will do nothing? That's some insane friendly fire tactics in a game that's fighting is 70% reflecting. I hate the way the fights feel, every aspect of them. They're drawn out, uncomfortable, repetitive, and mandatoryI got bored very fast. I'm sure if I was into storyline, it might be a slightly different answer, but I can't see a story that will make me want to play the bland fights over and over while also exploring the same place looking for the next path that didn't seem like a way I could go before the fight. It didn't get too difficult, I didn't get stuck looking for the next place, I just lost all interest in this game from the format being 80% exploring the same area and 20% locked into a battle system I hate. It might get better later on, and it might improve the fighting as the game progresses as well, but you're supposed to draw a person in with the beginning of a game, not deter them from playing before it builds into an okay game. If this had a $1 price tag, I could see some sort of appeal for someone to take a chance on it, but when it's not on sale, that's a steep price to pay to potentially get disappointed.
dobra gra polecam serdecznie
Well, I enjoyed this game way more than I should and finished it once.
But in my second playthrough I met a gamebreaking bug that let me skip the half world and no way to turn back...
Developer fixed my issue. Changed my review! :)
Another winner from Asmodev!
Fun, challenging, funny, solid graphics and flawless game-play makes for a 2.5D title well worth the cost.
Interestingly, I tried the demo and was on the fence about buying it, but as I think that this is a Dev worth supporting, I gave it a try regardless of my initial impressions.
I'm glad that I did, as it is thoroughly enjoyable and as bizarre as I have come to expect.
Cool!
Funniest game i have ever played, every moment of this game is pure fun, either you're laughing at the dialogue or enjoying the surprisingly solid gameplay.
Weird, kinda tacky looking, and the writing could be touched up in some places, but I feel like it adds to the charm - and this game is absolutely drowning in charm. Not the best game in the world, visually, lorewise, or mechanically, but it's a game that's absolutely very easy to fall in love with, and a game that I can see myself getting pretty addicted to. Following my last review, one of the devs reached out to me personally (it turns out the issue was that I had a controller and keyboard plugged in at once) and worked with me to help resolve my issue - if I had a real, actual bug, I'm convinced he would've done everything in his power to fix it, a kind of dedication the video game industry needs more of. While most of this studio's games appear at the surface level to be tacky little unity engine games, I can see them going very, very far if ever given the support, resources, and funding they deserve.
Special thanks to Yod.
It's an asset flipped game where the developer tried to put his heart into the game for once and released a game with a huge amount of soul. Although it's a bit janky and amateurish, so I'd only recomend this if you have the patience for a true indie work of art, but not necessarily a smooth gameplay.
It's a serie of fights against monsters, the gameplay is a mix between tennis and rythm game. It requires observation, patience, and memorisation. It might be a bit annoying at first, especially because missing one beat may make you miss several in a row, but you get used to it and it's not too difficult. It's a good gameplay that could become very fun with a bit of development.
The graphics and world building are very good. The dialog is mediocre and vulgar, but there's a lot of story to read if you're into this.
The only real bad point is that the game is just a long serie of fights, one after the other. So it gets repetitive and you probably won't want to play it in long sessions
I think this could make a great franchise if the dev takes the time to expand the gameplay and depth in a sequel.
(follow my curator page GenXPlayers for more retro and indie reviews)
I got this on sale for about $0.99. I think the developer was trying for "absurd" and "silly". For less than a dollar, I guess they did alright, but I wouldn't recommend this unless you're just really into weirdball indie games.
This game is friggin weird, but I kinda love it. The gameplay is interesting and surprisingly fun, the atmosphere, graphic design and sound design is great, and the storyline is completely off the wall. I managed to get stuck out of bounds two or three times in the first couple hours, and it seems a little glitchy here and there, but it's not too bad and doesn't detract a lot. A quick restart and you're good. Also the english translation is a little... off, but honestly I feel like that adds to the charm.
IR is a fun game with good music, all based on your clicking timing and rhythm. A healthy challenge and a really good time all round. You get about 3 hours of playtime, the whole game is just walking along the island and fighting bosses of increasing complexity. The last boss really reminds me of an old arcade game. In general, I had a good time and would play a sequel. Downsides, if they matter to you, as they did to me - the story is all over the place, could have done with being simpler, the design aspects on the villains are sometimes a little corny, and CW/TW for issues around biblical-style punishments of women and negative views of sex. To end on a high, I played this months ago and still hum the tunes in my head, the environments are also beautifully done and a real sense of satisfaction to beat.
That's a very strange new way for a game.
It's like playing a game of the band Ghost.
It must be witchery but it started automaticaly in 4k without problems.
Must research what treacherous adventures lies ahead.
Edit: (after reading the old dev's posts, yes, they have influenza of the band Ghost)
Strange: The effects while attack sound like in the game "Savant - Acent" and the talking like in "Howard Philips Lovecar"
good game thou but story was kinda meh good visual and combat system is kinda good one you could image more thing from the system and visual that they showed
the only thing that really trouble me is you can get stucked in object and you cant unstuck
1st i got stuck in the tree near the 1st house so im fine just creating the new save but now i just won the fight with vampire
and you know what yeai got stucked again in those stupid decorate object around the shovel annd the grave hole thing cant do shit cant even continue the game
you better grab it on sale if you wanna try but if its full price and amount of bug and content that i saw ummmm i dont think so i dont think i gonna do the new game for this fucking ridiculous bug
just wish you guys wont have this trouble just like i do
really like the game tho
At the time of review I have 5.7 hours on record. This is a difficult rhythm game with RPG elements, where the character progresses between demon encounters and, in order to defeat each demon, has to learn the rhythm of the attacks.
There are NPCs which offer opportunities to level up and purchase items to improve the character's attributes. Items involving slowing the demon's attacks are quite useful!
The graphics are effective in reflecting the demon-infested island and the darkness wrought upon it. I particularly like the comic-style text boxes which impart much of the story. The NPC and demon encounters are well-scripted and humorous.
Controller and KBM are supported, and the game works well with my Logitech F310. Game engine is Unity 3D, and whilst there is only a Windows build, the game works perfectly with Proton (I used Proton GE 6.1).
Recommended.
Rythm meets RPG in Infernal Radiation.
Atleast that's what it looks like on the surface but within it's witty dialogue, and it off the walls story, and even the enemies it provides.
It's a passion project that can inspire a lot if given a chance.
It resembles undertale in the way it tries to break an already established mold, and in other ways it works very well as rythm game, while there's always some faults with rythm games in general.
That being that they are not innovational enough; That being when you play it a couple times, you've probably seen it all.
Regardless, for a single experience it's not something that will bother you, and I highly recommend it.
+ Cool music that creates the atmosphere
+ Stabilty - no problems here. Everything works. Even ultra wide is supported.
+ A big plus for me for graphic design and characters
+ Story - builds up, for players that love to read. Looks complex, some of the dialogs are insanely funny.
- minor bugs- but easy to fix
-/+ UI sometimes really nice, in other place could be better
- no map?
All in all
For fans of adventures with rpg-action elements - I recommend it. It's EA, but on a high level of refinement. It's always good to support the devs in EA when the game contain so many cool ideas.
I've only played this game for about 2 hours so far but im having way too much fun with it. The Gameplay is really fun and addictive, i love the RPG component of the game. The music is very catchy and enjoyable to hear, it gives a nice spooky feeling, very appropriate for the concept of demons and exorcism and battles. I can't wait to see what else will be added in future updates

Review: I Really enjoyed the demo for this and enjoyed the full game as well the only glitch I ran into was when I had to close the game to free up some memory it had the current save in slot 3 my original slot which was slot 2 didn't save at all slot 2 was still difficulty 2 which I had progressed in but my slot 3 which actually have my save was difficulty one and it wouldn't let me change it back without restarting the game regardless I'm glad it did downgrade the difficulty the last 2 fights are soooooooo hard. The dialogue at points can be really hard to understand but you can get the gist of what's going on. The aesthetic is dope and I like the rpg elements definitely worth a play.
