Enter the role of Maxis Summers, a junior-level researcher working on an illegal AI development project. When he signed up for the job, he didn’t expect to be working underground, away from his wife and daughter. He also certainly didn’t expect to have to deal with the risk of a technological singularity.
The Singularity Wish is a game about the choices we make. There are no puzzles or combat, instead the player is confronted with the consequences of their actions… or inaction. Game length is anticipated to run 1-2 hours.
Features
- Hundreds of lines of dialogue, the context of which depends on the choices you make
- A personal story revolving around the technological singularity
- Five different endings, with 15 different variations of the player character's ultimate fate
About us
The Singularity Wish is the first installment of the A Memory of Eternity series, which is developed by a one-man team in RPGMaker MV.
A Memory of Eternity is about a post singularity world, but really, it's about more than that. It's about free will and determinism, the thin line between democracy and totalitarian rule, and the basic universal concepts of order and chaos. But mostly, it's about who we are in the dark, and what kind of choices we make.
Price commitment
So why $1.99 USD? I believe in a commitment to the players, both in quality and in value. I believe that no gamer should ever feel like they didn’t get the value they expected for a game, especially when it comes to a digital product. As a hobbyist dev, I am not bound to shareholders to deliver profits - I make games because I want to. And I release games because I want others to enjoy them. This is something that the wider AAA games industry has forgotten. Instead of draining every last cent with DLC and loot boxes, I create finished games for a decent price.

The good:
* Despite being the first installment of the "A Memory of Eternity" series it avoids any infodumps and boring prologues.
* Pretty self-contained story.
* Good for what it is™
Nitpicks:
* I know it's a zero budget title but there's no going around the fact it looks like a generic RPG Maker game (thankfully it gets better in the sequels).
* "Five different endings, with 15 different variations" begs for an in-game checklist.
The bad:
* Choices don't affect anything that happens in the game apart from the very last dialog/scene.
* Why have dash and "command remember" settings if neither is used in the game?!
* Embarrasing amount of grammar mistakes ESPECIALLY for a supposed writer - PROOFREAD YOUR SHIT BROOOO!
Ending: Worst
Fate: Trapped
Damn. That was definitely dank and cold.
This was a very enjoyable experience. I bought the entirety of this developer's catalogue once I realized all the games are connected. There are a few typos here and there (like saying "dank and cold" where it should say "dark and cold"), but it's all easily overlooked, and at times even funny.
The Singularity Wish is a great introduction to the world, and it has left me hungry for more. I guess I'll try the arena next, and leave the... *ahem* true culture materials for late at night. I'm looking forward to experiencing how the series as a whole develops, as the concept of genre-hopping while remaining in the same universe is something I'm building as well.
Pretty bold for a game to have no puzzles or turn-based combat. From what I played it seemed alright. It has a story to tell and it tells it.
A small, lovingly crafted game with a trippy storyline. It's more than worth the pittance the game creator asks.
Although if I can make one complaint, it's silly that I was able to avert the worst ending (there are multiple) by reloading just before the final segment and making what appeared to be a minor choice differently.
Much more suited to being a visual novel than an RPG Maker game. It felt like the engine wasn't used to its best potential.
Also, the game itself really had no buildup. Just an even story flow and sudden exposition dump at the end. I feel very neutral about this one, and the price IS pretty cheap. Very meh kind of game, but not terrible for the price.
Just wish it was a more compelling story for the game.
The writing was good. There are minimal bugs (in one transition panel, you can 'climb' a couple walls) but nothing game breaking. I got this because it's a prequel to another game I bought.
I went though three times. I tried variables of responses and actions. It didn't appear to matter so I searched online. In all the reviews, everyone got the worst fate and ending. I suppose I will give the creator the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the game is too esoteric in it's interpretations of good actions/ responses to bad actions/responses.
If you don't count on actually affecting the outcome, it's worth the hour of interacting story at the current price. It's also nice to have a little leader into a bigger game.
Totally worth the price, on sale or otherwise. I ran through it fairly quickly, and got the worst ending (don't know what that says about me). Observed a few typos ("monitoring" is misspelled), but they were exceptions. Strong writing, good characterization, unexpected paths make this a satisfying and worthwhile experience. I'll definitely run through it again, see if I can make "better" decisions that lead to a different ending.
I enjoyed this little game. I got the worst ending tho but I probably will try to get another ending soon. I had no idea what to expect from the game since I got it in a bundle but it was a pleasant surprise.
this is not such a bad game, i have only played it once - there are multiple endings based on your decisions, i got the worst ending while i though i have done all the right decisions. that is sick :-) the game is worth the price if you are interested in story driven short little games.
Really touching story, got this game on sale for $1 but it's worth $2 as well I think. It has a really wonderful story and the music is great too.
I got the worst ending haha. I might consider replaying to see if I can get a better ending.
I was looking for a game that deals with the concept of developing transcendent A.I and this turned out to be just what I was looking for. It reminds me a bit of the movie Her and the game itself kind of reminded me of a chapter of Chrono Trigger minus the combat but with much better dialogue. I found every bit of interaction in the game enjoyable and there's a lot of topics covered including the notion of nested virtual realities, quasi-omnipotence of hyper-intelligent A.I, infidelity, animal cruelty, drug addiction, depression and getting research funding from the Cartel. I found this to be just the right amount of detail and variety to set my imagination on fire.
Conceptually this game is exactly what I was looking for and the interactions are rather interesting as it feels like a living, breathing world. At first I never heard of this game but I was desperate for a game that involves general A.I so I ended up being pleasantly surprised. The author is a brilliant writer and I believe his writing could take a conceptually very interesting world and have it perspire with character. I'm looking forward to future installments in this series.
I'm not too impressed with the stock-looking graphics, or the chiptune tracks, but I think the character art and strong writing make this a pretty enojoyable quickie.
There's not much to say without putting spoilers, but it's a nice little game. It's pretty short, but it doesn't really need to be longer and it's got some nice variation when replaying. Enough so that I'm already planning to play through a third time looking for more endings.
