Time Transit VR

Absolutely recommended. Time Transit VR is a fantastic VR adventure in the world of dinosaurs. You climb through the jungle and in some volcanic caves, paddle a boat and have to solve puzzles and discover and scan animals. It is very suitable for children but also adult players who just want it to be nice and playful. Playing time is approximately 8 hours. The graphics are simple but still great, on the Pimax Crystal, as well as on the Meta Quest2 and 3. I played it on all three head sets.

Time Transit VR is an amazing VR game. It is a peaceful walking sim, its an adventure journey game, its a puzzle game. Its all this in a relaxing, no rush world. You will explore a breath taking world, from different time periods at your own pace. No clock to rush you, nothing hunting you, nothing to hunt or harm. You just get to be a time traveling tourist. Explore, take photos, scan and feed the local wide life, rock climbing, kayaking and so much more. You will have the time of your life.

You will explore the world, seeing amazing views, exotic animals, discover new tools to aid you on your adventure. You will also have to solve puzzles, find other path ways to travel. The game has so much to offer, and does a great job doing it.

This is one VR adventure I really needed. A wonderful VR world to explore, without it trying to kill you. If you want to just relax, and enjoy the environment you are immersed into, this is a must play game. I have spent hours in this game and enjoyed every second of it. Must have for your VR library.

I'm 2 hours into climbing and not even halfway through this game. The climbing never ends... its infuriating and nauseating.. its not fun anymore. The first 30 minutes in this game were nice though, cute dinosaurs + nice visuals. I was committed to finish this one but I don't think I can..

I cautiously give Time Transit VR a "thumbs up." If I had to describe it in a sentence, it's "The Climb, with dinosaurs." At its core, it's a climbing experience - and a good one at that. The environments and the dinosaurs are extremely well done. Honestly, there are many "wow" moments (a carnivorous dinosaur jumping up and just missing my foot with its jaws, navigating your way around and over a lava field, walking underneath giant dinosaurs in a swamp). The puzzles are challenging, but not so much that you can't progress. Overall, Time Transit VR is an impressive accomplishment.

The one thing that ALMOST causes me to give it a "thumbs down" is the amount of climbing. Good grief, the level designers went waaaaay overboard. Some levels can take well over an hour just to get from point A to point B. I was skeptical when I read other similar comments ... like, "It can't be that bad!" Well ... it's that bad. The levels included just way too much climbing and there were times I just wanted to quit -- not because I wasn't proficient at it -- but rather because I was asking myself when the heck I was going to reach my destination. It got downright silly.

Also (and this is just me), I get terrible VR sickness from canoe games. I have probably 70 VR games and have no issues with any of them, but canoes make me sick. Something about the turning action that messes with my brain. I was really, really hoping that those sections of the game were short. But like everything else, they weren't.

Message to the level designers - too much of a good thing is indeed a bad thing. Don't become so enamored with your creation that you miss the point, which is to make it fun.

That being said, I just finished the game and the ending was pretty awesome. If you like dinosaurs and climbing, this title is worth a look.

This game is AMAZING and a MUST play for anyone that loves dinosaurs or paleontology. My only teeny complaint is WAY too much climbing, but at the same time, it's a fantastic rock climbing simulator as well.

Similar to Robinson: The Journey but I like Time Transit more. Simple, relaxing gameplay, nice climbing, beautiful graphics and environments, plays great with Reverb G2 + Index controllers.

I started playing this game and loved all the dinosaurs and creatures and being able to interact with them. Absolutely beautiful.

What I HATE is all the bloody climbing you make me do. Climbing makes me extremely nauseous in VR. I wish there was an option in your game for me to teleport instead of climb.

I probably would have finished the game by now if that option existed for me. Instead I stopped about thirty minutes in and have never returned to the game because I don't fancy vomiting. The climbing is unnecessary and does not contribute to the reason I purchased it in the first place. I shouldn't have to waste my time on it. It is a pity because the game is good, the content is good, but this mechanic prevents me from playing it.

Please, please, add this teleport option (or something like it, just anything that isn't climbing) and I will happily continue patting the dinosaurs and having the time of my life in the Transit world. Thank you.

PS: I have to say 'no I would not recommend' the game as it is now because for people who get nauseous when climbing, this is not something they could play. For those who don't, by all means go ahead - it's lovely., or the thirty minutes I played of it was.

Pretty poor quality in terms of controls. With the index controllers the devs force you to locomotion and teleport at the same time. That means you press up to move forwards, and you teleport forwards at the same time. This leads to incredible confusion when playing room scale.

I've had a blast with this game.
Unprecedented level of visuals for a VR project, highly detailed fauna, amazing sound design, and a decent climbing experience.
The only drawback is a still unresolved stuttering during level loading which happens occasionally.

Also the robot assistant is super cute :З

Looks like a neat exploration game through various time periods. The graphics are better in Ark Park and The Blu (which have similar style environments to the ones I saw) and aren't as hard on computer usage, but both those programs are by far more limited in scale than this so I guess that's the trade off. The guide does get a bit overly cutesy at times (I'm guessing this game is aimed at children) but again can see why it's not economical to program in two different guides. Worked with a GTX 1050, 16GB ram (under the requirements) with some buffering/loading issues at times but still playable. Doubt it would run well on anything slower than this for anyone wondering. Would recommend it except I found the jumping mechanic while climbing so bad that I was unable to progress far through the second level as it's unskippable/difficulty is not changeable. Not everyone has this problem it seems, but personally I got stuck and couldn't play it.

This game really took me by surprise. This is in my mind one of those hidden gems that way too few people know about. I have only played about 1.5 hours as of this review but in that time it has given me goosebumps and made me smile many times. If you like games like the climb and Robinsons journey I think you're going to love this one.

Graphics are a mixed bag, some things do not look so good but not terrible and other parts can be right out breathtaking. Overall the graphics are really good.
Music in the game is amazing and really ads to the experience A LOT. I have already had many times that I felt like I was in Jurassic park.
Sound and voice acting are also good.

It has all the settings you want from a VR game.
Great options for graphics and supersampling. It has both smooth locomotion and teleportation. I big plus is that you can use them both at the same time which I'm personally a big fan of.

Thumbs up! I can confirm the positive reviews, but some issues as well. All “action heroes” should be warned: its not action-packed and for sensation seekers. Its an explorers game with big climbing mazes (bigger than Robinson) and some simple puzzles. The music in the first part is a bit too peaceful, and the little robot a bit to childish/naive (speaks too fast).

But the graphics are very beautiful - in many places impressive (flow-stone caves, lava area: on par/better than in Robinson (Robinson on highest settings)). But that comes with the price of frame drops and the need for a beefy GPU*. The Diplo dinosaur skeleton/skin-model is the best I have seen in VR! Being inside of a swarm of fish feels like the real thing and is better done than in the TheBlue.

The canoe controls are good in open water but not in tight places. Climbing is very smooth and well done and later on added by an innovative climbing-step-gun (yes, gun), that I really liked. It comes close to the real thing, when you take gear from your climbing harness and use it on the rock (unique selling point – they should have made more use of it, because its in the last part of the game). If you do not like teleportation (for me it takes immersion away), wait until the devs implemented it (they announced they will).

Due to stutters* and zip-line rides motion sickness could be an issues for sensitive people, I guess.

Unfortunately the story is thin (far away from Robinson), which results in a shorter playtime. Since I am a pro-climber and heavy Climbey-content-creator (knowing all the climbing-design-tricks), I cannot say much about the time you need. But its easy for adults. Kids might have to jump more often (I played offline – Steam did not register my playtime).

Overall it lives from its beauty/peace/exploring/climbing and provides “oh!-ah!-moments” even to VR-veterans. If you are into this, you really should consider it.

Price: Depends on your budget. I do not regret the full price (e.g. “The Climb” is much more expensive). However, given the shorter playtime and limited replayability: I can understand, that some would be unhappy and hence should wait for a sale.

First off:WOW! Stunning graphics and scenery! Its like the Blue x1000. There's rock climbing, zip lining, HUGE dinos walking right by you, and some puzzles to figure out. Not sure just how long it will take to go thru maps but so far its been very engaging. Price point is quite high which will limit sales a bit(maybe wait for sale?) and graphics can cause frame rate drop even on my 1070ti. Still worth it tho. It will blow your friends minds when they go in. Devs must have spent so many hours to create this amazing world. You will not regret this purchase!

Update: graphics are pretty insane and your card will take a hit or two. I found if you try to race thru the maps it makes it worse. Go slow, enjoy the scenes. Thats what this game is really about. Ending is pretty mind blowing!!! Puzzles can be a bit tough, you really have to listen to the tour guide. CC is good because I didnt always understand the accent.

This is visually one of the best games I have ever played it is very peaceful to be able to feed the dinosaurs and just lay down in the grass looking at the huge trees. I am very excited to play a lot more this is definitely my go to game in VR to find peace in my very hectic lifestyle.10/10 great job devs!

Only played for a few hours and i have to say the graphics are very good ,
gameplay is not compelling , a bit like climey for kids but the scenes are what it's all about .

Since there's literally no reviews as of this writing, I wanted to put something out there. I've only played a short while and am still trying to figure out the controls and gadgets you use, but I must say that this game is visually amazing! THIS is the kind of game/experience that I want to show my friends and family to share how exciting VR can be!

Yeah, I balked at the price initially, but I also can see the amount of work that must've gone in to creating this environment. From what I've seen so far, you travel in a time machine to a Prehistoric time (the first area, being under the sea). You also have a little robot companion that gives you tips as to what you can use to explore the environment and various things to see. As I said, the graphics are stunning and I caught myself saying "Wow!" quite a few times. It's cool when you move your "hand" through a school of fish and they shy away! You apparently can also feed creatures, but I haven't figured that out in the short time that I had. You do have the freedom to move around quite a bit (the area is limited) and to check things out at your own pace. Like I said, I simply haven't gotten that far yet to have a full understanding of what all is involved. One thing I will say, I have a Samsung Odyssey + Windows Mixed Reality headset and everything seems to work just fine...

I'm new to VR and I find it amazing in general, so maybe I'm easily impressed. :) But as far as a yes or no, at this point, for many of the reasons I mentioned above, it's a definite "Yes" for me. I can't wait to explore more and I especially can't wait to show my friends and family!

This reminds me of "The Climb" with no fatigue mechanics. Very strong visuals, but you'll need decent videocard to run it smoot with max settings. Played with 2080ti and had few framerate hits. But overall - very decent game, that can generate some of the most beatifull scenes seen in VR. Caves are just amazing.

-I went climbing this weekend, it was awesome! i f-ing love climbing!
-you know what would be really cool? Climbing while being hunted by dinosaurs.
-Oh yeah, did you know the trees could grow so large the sunlight never reached the ground during the age of the dinosaurs? Would be top notch climbing back then. You could climb so high you didnt even see the ground! I guess it would be neat with ziplines from time to time when you get that high... yeah lets make a game of this.
-Man, i love modeling roots. lets do this. but i want to be able to feed the dinosaurs. i demand it. also, i like cayaking. lets add that aswell.

This is awesome. Great graphics, beautiful sights, sounds, and a genuine feeling of traversing and exploring.
It began by throwing you all the way back to a time between the Devonian and Cretaceous period. i dont really remember what age, there were Ammonites, fish, eel-sharks and so on. It was cool, and every creature except the Ammonites felt lifelike.
You couldnt really interact that much with the environment or the creatures here, and as i said the Ammonites was not that well animated. TheBlu is still the best underwater experience even after all this time(however the pleiosaurus underwater ride in summer funland is near)
I was too awestruck to really remember which period i was transported to next, because of dinosaurs and beatiful nature. So Mesozoic era(maybe late jurassic since i met a dino definitely from that period.). you can feed dinosaurs here. you have a belt full of tools, and a unlimited number of food. you get new tools as you progress(i had 5-6 different tools when i had to quit), as for example a tool so you can ride ziplines. there are parts full of different ziplines. and parts where you will climb, in a similar way to in the climb, robinson the journey(but less janky, very smooth) and climbey. There also is cayaking, but traversing by climbing is definitely my favorite so far. the cayaking felt weird for me, maybe because i regularly cayak and i both went very fast during this and didnt feel any feedback from the water. The toolbelt got in my way when i tried sitting in the cayak, this is a standing experience.
The environments(after the first undersea one) felt expansive and there where many branching paths, it feels like you go through a living world and not just a linear corridor with sights. i guess the game is linear, but it did not feel that way. the environments doesnt feel cut of from the outside world, they feel like a part of it. there are some ghost walls that break that a little bit.
Let me just go into graphics, performance and transportation mode for a bit here, so far your main locomotion method is teleportation, but the developers wrote they will prioritise getting controller oriented smooth locomotion implemented next. The graphics are clear, highly customizable, and just plain great looking. nothing looks flat and lifeless, bumpmapping ftw! the textures are very good looking, some are not as high res but they blend in well.And i just freaking love sneaking throught the high dense grass towards a dinosaur... to feed it, ofcourse. The performance was probably good enough, i insisted on having most graphical settings on "epic" with a 1080 (not ti) so a bit of reprojection was to be expected.
There are some minor puzzles that was very easy and felt more just like a minor story/interactivity element. when i went into a location with modern tools i was saddened that i couldnt interact with them, they were glued stuck.

A great game for kids, but still fun for adults. The robot helper is somewhat irritating. Graphics are very good, but there is an overall washed out appearance. I would like more contrast. No smooth loco is a big downside in my opinion. A game in 2019 should not be released with teleport only.

I've only done the first 2 maps, and there are many more in the roster (I assume they are all available to unlock). A very fun exploration game. The animations are acceptable, but look robotic sometimes.

I'm stuck on the first number puzzle, which is kind of embarrassing since the game seems to be made for children.

I'm giving it a positive, even though it is priced very high for a VR game, because the DEVs have obviously put a lot of work into this, and the overall experience, despite the flaws, is excellent.
