Quality. Pretty environments and a captivating story but the few puzzles were very straightforward

I have to give this game a fun 10/10. Graphics were great. Overall easy peezy functionality with lots of diverse scenarios. I think what I really enjoyed most was the attention to graphic detail and the amazing 'walk-through' of the entire story/journey. Lots of fun.
Great game! I really enjoyed the puzzles and the general vibe. The voice acting, visual design, and storytelling progression was fantastic.
Recommended/10. Really happy the Layers-of-fear-likes are coming out.
This was an interesting game. The graphics are excellent. The puzzles are easy but the atmosphere is off the charts...but lets talk about the horrible voice acting. I think the actor is okay, but his dialog is of the "Stares at screen that says power failure" and then says "Oh, the power must be out." He's definitely captain obvious through most of the story. Hes going through some really horrific events, but then he stops to look at a watch and comment about how it couldn't be his, he couldn't afford such a watch. Its just very flat acting that reminded me of the main character in 7th Guest. Could you act scared please? This thing is chasing you and you're thinking about what you are going to eat for lunch tomorrow. lol
At first I really did not like the story. There are parts that just don't make common sense at all...but I stuck through it (finished it in one sitting) and all I can say is make sure you get to the end. It's really interesting and made the stuff I saw earlier make a lot more sense. I had no idea what was in store for me, and it really turned the game around.
So I recommend it, but just make sure you keep an open mind and get to the end.
I bought it and started playing it on the Steam Deck. It was suppose to be verified, but the controls do not work, nor when remapping them. The controls on Deck in the game appear as if I am using a PS controller, which makes it very confusing to know which button to press. The gameplay reminds me of Soma, only being stuck in the first room with the remapped hint button never working and no sense of direction, this is a big NO WAY. Soma is a much better game and has a sense of direction.
I wish that there was more of an intro and story to get started with, rather than just jumping right into it like Dead Space 2, only with Dead Space, you have a lore from the past game to fall on. I do not recommend this game.
Trippy first person narrative with some puzzles and some horror elements, with a twist I did not see coming. Well done.

Best game I've ever played! Really good story and truly worth it!
Really enjoyable game! It lures you into thinking it's a very straight-forward, done to death sort of story, but leaves little breadcrumbs along the way that indicate something isn't quite right. Love the twist, love that it was telegraphed just clearly enough for me to guess what was going on, but provided enough red herrings to keep me guessing until the reveal. Also love that the protag's ramblings are well-written and serve the experience rather than distract from it. More and more games these days are making the protag a chatter box, and when they do nothing but state what they're doing aloud, it's horrible. This character actually gives some real insight, and it's endearing. Well done, devs!
Disclaimer: This is an indie-made Unity game. It has some of the standard Unity performance issues, especially during real-time new level loads. These are very hard for your average indie team to eliminate completely, and it didn't detract from my experience, but those with fussier machines may run into some real problems at certain points. Definitely play with the quality settings appropriately for your rig.
Straightforward puzzle game and walking simulator. Artfully thought out, mildly creepy with nods to amusement park history of yesteryear. With the latter subject there's know way this game would have escaped my radar.
A great little gem. Psychological horror done right without the cliches. A story that keeps you asking questions with answers that actually make sense. A must play.

This was actually a really good game. At first it gives off solid PT vibes, and then starts to take off from there in unexpected ways.
It is definitely worth the price tag before any kind of discount and if you can get it on sale then that’s a huge bargain. If it helps you the game is about 4.5 - 5 hours of play time.

Very good game! Visual storytelling, puzzles, spooky parts are all great. Thank you to the devs for the experience and for putting such a beautiful game together.
Initial caveat before the review: the game is short (~3 hours). For 20 bucks its a bit much, on sale its easy to recommend, and here's why.
REVEIL has a LOT to offer in the visual department. The graphical fidelity is great, and the artistic side is also very strong. The sound design is also good, and it makes the overall presentation quite nice.
There isnt much gameplay to be had, as the game is very much a walking simulator besides a few horror sequences (that are very light on the fear factor at least for me) and a surprising amount of puzzles, which I quite enjoyed. But with the game being quite short, this lack of gameplay doesn't fester into an issue.
As for the story, which is quite important for games like that, I thought very quickly it would devolve into yet another tale of a horrible POS deadbeat dad who's done terrible things to his family, can't cope with it and goes full denial mode alongside heavy drug and alcohol use, and the subsequent game is all "in his head", he'd usually be looking for his partner and/or children but they'd already be dead because he'd have killed him or caused her to die, and him hallucinating all the events due to substance abuse and trauma. This is bad for 3 reasons, one: it's already been done many times before in similar games, two: its been done so often you see it coming a mile away, and three: it makes it really hard to emphasize with the main character. But they do a nice bait and switch and they went in a completly different direction, which I really enjoyed. This game's story wasnt what I thought it would be and that was for the better.

I enjoyed it. Graphics were pretty. Setting was cool. Reminded me of Layers of Fear, which is a beloved franchise to me. Suspense was good. Puzzles were fun. A touch of terror every once in a while. I liked that it kept me wanting to see the final outcome. 4/5
Pretty good short horror game. Kinda lost me in the final act, and going through the last chapter several times to get all endings was pretty tedious. Still, an interesting plot, and several quite tense scenes.
This game got some pretty graphics, the art is cool. It's a little creepy, but in a good way - it is creepy enough to keep you hooked.
I highly recommend it if you like narrative-driven psychological horror with bit of walking simulator, stealth and puzzles that makes you think! Just don't get caught, it can kill you!
If you're looking for a fast-paced, super-intense horror experience, you might want to look elsewhere
I enjoyed this game. It kept me on my toes, and I liked that there were segments where you actually had to run or hide from something. I love that the game has chapter select, so I didn't have to spend a ton of time running back through the whole game for collectibles.
I don't post a ton of reviews but this was a super unique experience. Nice balance of "walking simulator" and puzzles. Cool vibe, beautiful graphics.

Creepy carnival puzzle game with immersive sim qualities and an okay storyline.
Creepy carnival games are a difficult genre to find within the horror category but I was glad I spotted this one. Some puzzles are less like puzzles than others, while some are a bit tricky to figure out. The story is engaging enough to follow and the visuals are enjoyable, especially while walking through the fun house. Was very much like walking through a bizarro funhouse. The scary elements are just creepy enough without getting into jumpscare territory.
Overall, if you like dark, atmospheric horror games with an interesting setting you might like this one.
Bought this during the Halloween season. Loved it! Fun little indie game.

Really atmospheric and thought provoking game, with good music and sound design, that has a world and story worth exploring. Recommend highly for any one who enjoys story centric horror games

I've enjoyed this game very much. Gameplay and Graphics are very good. Sound and level design are great, as well as the voice-acting. The little puzzles have not been too easy and didn't destroy immersion as they made sense story-wise. It is difficult these days to find a horror-game with an ungenereic story that doesn't draw its chills from darkness, blood 'n' gore and sudden loud screams alone - Reveil is different in camparison to those and much in this game suggests a very creative and talented crew of developers behind it.
Overall I enjoyed it! I'd say 4/5 stars. It's a good length, I finished it in two sittings but you could do it in one if you really wanted; not a quick 1-hour game, but also not so long the suspense loses its effect. The graphics, voice acting, and music are good, and the environmental sound effects really add to the psychological suspense and immersion. It also plays really well on the Steam Deck. I'm gonna dock a star for unintuitive controls, especially when interacting with doors, knobs, anything that had to be turned or slid with the left joystick, I found that really difficult and frustration. Maybe that's easier with keyboard controls, I played entirely on the Deck. I also found some of the puzzles a little boring.
I liked the story; the first twist felt predictable and I saw it coming pretty quickly, but the larger twist came as a surprise, I think I only guessed it at the beginning of the chapter, and even then I only got part of it. I can see how some people wouldn't like it or would feel disappointed, but it reminded me of one of my favorite shows (so strongly in fact I'd love to ask the devs if it was an influence...) and I really liked it, I thought it was as well-executed as it could be.
I wouldn't call this game terrifying, but that works for me. I'm a big wuss when it comes to horror and prefer psychological horror to survival, and I love walking simulators, so this hit a nice sweet spot. I also prefer when conflict with monsters/adversaries is more about stealth and avoidance rather than fighting. I think it has good replayability too; I don't think the story itself changes, but there are lots of collectibles that are easy to miss, and multiple endings. I'll definitely replay it, but maybe not for awhile, I think the suspense would lose its effect if I played it again so close together.

This game is just alright. Not bad but not good either. First, everything is very hard to see unless you are in a very dark room. The game is not very cohesive and has lots of very long sequences, the fun house nearly killed me. The games are pretty simple and not that interesting. Overall, I'd skip it.
The sound and music, I think, are what make this game. Voice acting is taking you places. The story keeps you playing without noticing the passing time. At times, the puzzles seem stale, but this is truly my only possible qualm. There is suspense, the cheeky jump scare, the unreliable narrator, the what did I just watch...really this game is worth more than you'll pay. I got 4 hrs of entertainment on my first playthrough. It is replayable. I would tell my past self to buy it.

Reveil is a psychological horror game with some massive twists and turns. There are two points in the story where you think you’ll have the game figure out before it pulls a bait and switch on you. I do wish there was more traditionally scary situations in Reveil, but that’s mainly because I loved the Forest of Memories section of the game. Overall, Reveil is a very well made game that will give you a lot of to think about at the game’s close.
Excellent for casual gamers who like story driven games.
Short, easy, not scary at all, and the plot twist makes you blush to say the least. Use your money with another game.

How does a game in a circus manage to be so void of horror? It's just bumbling about at the most nonplussed individual through baffling situations with an incredibly daft twist. A painful 4 hours of my life that I need my own memory disk for.

Insanely good game, but it kept making my OBS crash over and over again. Spent 6 total hours trying to make a video on this game, but I'm not going to waste anymore time. This is the only game that has ever done this. Most of the game I'm running at 100+FPS, then at certain parts, it dips down to 10-20 and drops SOOOOO many frames and crashes the recording.
