I have to admit that RewindApp is a developer that knows its craft. Their games are usually good quality and priced almost ridiculously low. They’re one of those companies that constantly tempt you with titles on sale, and most of the time, they deliver: simple, entertaining games that are worth the price. Unfortunately, this isn’t one of those cases.
When I saw this game, I thought: “Well, it’s only 70 cents… doesn’t seem too bad. A bit repetitive, but for that price, it might be fun. Let’s give it a try.” So, I picked it up, downloaded it, installed it, and jumped in. But it didn’t take long to realize that I was dealing with one of the developer’s very first projects, and, sadly, time hasn’t been kind to it.
Let’s start with the positives: the music. It’s relaxing and pleasant to listen to, I’ll give it that. But after a while, it becomes way too repetitive, like an endless loop that starts to grate on you. The sound effects are also extremely basic; they don’t immerse you in the game and feel more like a generic afterthought.
The gameplay: very limited. The core mechanic revolves around calculating the travel time of an arrow when you shoot it. And that’s pretty much it. While the levels supposedly increase in difficulty, they’re essentially the same thing over and over again. There’s no variation to keep things fresh or provide a different kind of challenge. It’s the type of game that might entertain you for a few minutes, but it doesn’t hook you or leave you wanting more.
It’s important to note that I completely understand this was one of RewindApp’s earliest efforts. Today, they produce far better games, and that’s undeniable. But to be fair, this one hasn’t aged well. You can see it in every aspect, from the design to the overall experience.
Would I recommend it? Honestly, no. It’s mildly entertaining, yes, but not enough to justify spending money on it—even as little as 70 cents. If you want to try something from this developer, look for their more recent offerings, which are much better executed and absolutely worth your time.
In summary, this game feels more like a historical curiosity within RewindApp’s catalog rather than a genuine recommendation. At least for me, it doesn’t meet the standard we’ve come to expect from the developer nowadays.

Vamos a probarlo."
Warning: Asset Flip!
Archery Blast is a Unity Asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", RewindApp, took the Archery Blast Unity Store tutorial/demo/game asset pack from the real developers, Day Dreamz Studio, changed the name, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work.
It gets worse... "Archery Blast" has also been shamelessly dumped on Steam by other asset flippers apart from RewindApp:
- "Archery Simulator", asset flipped by Atomic Fabrik/Beam Bong Games
Take a look for yourself... these are all exactly the same game!
RewindApp has shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:
- "Battle Simulator" = Battle Simulator 118027 developed by Codeer Studio
- "BitCoin" = Bitcoin Clicker / Miner Simulator 2 developed by Dudle Studio
- "Bitcoin Farm" = Bitcoin Clicker / Miner Simulator developed by Dudle Studio
- "Christmas Race" = Sliding Santa developed by SgLib Games
- "Christmas Race 2" = Sliding Santa developed by SgLib Games
- "Clash of Castle" = RTS Battle Kit developed by Codeer Studio
- "Coin Pusher" = Coin Pusher Pro developed by Alan O'Toole
- "Crazy Archery" = Gibbet - Archery Complete Game Template developed by ADDPGAMES
- "Cube Defense" = 3D Wave Shooter developed by Daniel Buckley
- "Elite Archery" = Archer Shooter Casual Low Poly Game Starter Kit developed by Zhang Rongyi
- "Escape Game" = Ciitt Escape Game Kit developed by ciitt
- "Geometry Rush" = Speedbox Game developed by Lovatto Studio
- "Golf 2D" = Quick Golf developed by Shorka Games
- "Gravity Ball" = Gravity Ball 2D Dynamic Lights and Shadows developed by App Advisory
- "Hammer 2" = Full Game Kit - Hammer 2 developed by XForm Games
- "Hunter" = J Shooting Kit developed by Jun
- "Junglex" = Pix Jungle Adventure developed by Fox Games
- "Kings" = Kings Card Swiping Decision Game Asset developed by KM-Games
- "Knife Flipping" = Flicky Blade - Unity Game Template developed by SgLib Games
- "Lost" = Hack and Slash 2DPlatformer Lost developed by Studio HardCore
- "Minions Battle" = Super Multiplayer Shooter Template developed by Visyde Interactives
- "My Stunt Life" = SBP Vehicle Physics 2.0 developed by SpyBlood Games
- "Operation Desert Road" = Full Game Kit Operation Desert Road developed by XForm Games
[*] "Pyrax" = Smash Way Hit Pyramids developed by Andrew Oleynik
Because this is an almost exact 1:1 copy + paste of the original Unity asset, it's in violation of the Unity Asset Store Terms of Service and EULA. Specifically, Section 2, Subsection 2.2.1a:
Subject to the restrictions set forth in this EULA, Licensor hereby grants to the END-USER a non-exclusive, non-transferable, worldwide, and perpetual license to the Asset solely:(a) to incorporate the Asset, together with substantial, original content not obtained through the Unity Asset Store, into an electronic application or digital media that has a purpose, features, and functions beyond the display, performance, distribution, or use of Assets ("Licensed Product") as an embedded component of that Licensed Product, such that the Asset does not comprise a substantial portion of the Licensed Product
Because the developer misused the asset pack such that it comprises the vast majority of this "game", the developer has unethically and deliberately breached the license agreement. Worse, this intellectual property violation was done in an attempt to profit from their illicit actions. Why is this permitted on Steam?
The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "Archery Blast" is just a basic low poly archery shooting game demo, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game, so this copy+paste of it can't be recommended.
Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may ch
I admit, it's not the best of games, but it's still fun. I've only played for 15 minutes and have thoroughly enjoyed it! Considering the insanely low price there is good content in-game.
Worst archery game ever. Do not buy. Too many issues with this game to even list.
Not fit for an adult or child. I knew it might be poor from reading the previews but I thought I should give it a shot. No pun intended. I had no idea it would be this bad. Disappointing.
I have so far played a few rounds of this game and have come to the conclusion the developer has
1.)Never used a bow
2.) Sill has a fundamental misunderstanding of how gravity works on planet earth.
I seem to remember the background music from somewhere, Not certain. Maybe TF2?
In any case, there are indeed bows and targets as expected, however, what I did not expect was gaining the ability to drunkenly levitate up and down once drawing the bow. I can only imagine this is to create artificial difficulty as there is no different score such as long as you hit the target, you get the points, no added points for bulls eye.
I got to about the 5th round before i grew painfully bored.
I would say that the game is nice, relaxing fun. however, I cant. with a bit more thought and effort, this MAY be worth the .99 I paid. But as is, I may ask for a refund on principal.
It's lazy even for a 99 center. To simulate shaky aim, instead of your vision/reticle going slightly up and down like what happens in most games with archery, here your aim swings uncontrollably upwards for multiple seconds before it starts to come down again and actually aims where you want to, and you have to wait through this tedious process every time. It ruins the game, but it's not like this is any good otherwise. You can have sound and (awful) music or neither, there's no Music Off option. With a few fixes it would be at least worth the buck, but right now it's refund material.
Good job games wonderful definitely if you want to practice do levels 1 through 5. A few times and then after that continue with the game it's incredible good game. I use a controller with it and. I use companion controller which is good it's in the steam library that would be good then you get that and you're all set to play with a controller Works beautiful good job with the game I wish it would make some other Target games like this should make it a shooting game next that would be good
I bought this game thinking it would be fun to share with the grandchildren (whose parents a very against game with any violance). Or at least to play myself. Years ago I did Archery and the bow does move up and down if you are using a bow that is too heavy. If that happens you use a lighther bow because you will not be able to control the shot.
Unfortunatly the kids can't play this and is really isn't fun for me. Would like to see something easier in the future - but it isn't this game.
There's really not a lot to say about Archery Blast that isn't obvious. But to buy a game that's such fun, and so VERY challenging with the constantly moving bow (and often targets also), with SIXTY levels.....
....for only 74 CENTS (on sale, $.99 otherwise) it's really hard to go wrong. To kill some time while you stay out of trouble (think how much you COULD be spending!), it's a Big Ol' YES!!! (Trust me, it's jjust ZEN as all git out!)
Thanks, y'all!
A fun time waster. Although the odd up and down movement that happens when you're aiming feels a little unneccessary but it also is part of the challenge. Or adds to it anyway.
It is definitely a shameless mobile port but I'd still give it a go. Which I did.
