My personal favourite of the Blackwell games so far, the plot is really starting to build and compound with each entry. Joey was a star character from the start, but Rosa is finally starting to come into her own. The puzzles were generally much better and more satisfying to solve.
Had some issues with some parts of plot feeling a bit rushed, but otherwise this was as great fun and engrossing of a game as the previous two games. Loved it.
Every Blackwell game does some thing better than the others, and for me, this game takes the cake in terms of art. The backgrounds in this game are stunning. The gallery, Rosa's apartment, the diner, just fantastic in every way. Love the art style. The puzzles are pretty cool too, but I wish they brought back the clue combination from the first two games. Thankfully it's not gone forever, as it returns in Deception, but it would've been cool to have in this game too, as it's a series staple.
I'm just going to write the same review for all the Blackwell games....Please PLEASE play this whole series you will not regret it. I legitimately cannot pick a favorite I love these games and ghosts.
While I overall recommend the game it's definitely the weakest in the series up to this point. The quality of the voice recordings is somehow even worse than the previous instalments, which is a bit sad since they've had clearly had enough time to figure these things out. I also feel like the aesthetic direction of the game was worse although not terrible.
That being said, it still does what Blackwell does well and I will still be playing the next game.
Blackwell Convergence is Joeys and Rosa Blackwells third adventure. While doing “what they do best” – helping ghost that are stuck in our world to move on, that is – they find a unsettling pattern how (and why) those people died. While uncovering the truth Joey meets an old acquaintance …
If you are into classic point-and-click adventure games, this is for you. It would be good to play the first two games, but it is not a must. The game is fully voice acted, and the places, music and atmosphere are great.
Three games into series and realise Joey still gets erections. How you doing? Elements of Voyeurism and punching mentally ill women. Remember this game was made over 10 years ago so times have changed.
Still waiting for Gozer to turn up.
So, this was a fun one. I highly recommend playing Blackwell Legacy and Blackwell Unbound, in that order, before playing this. Otherwise, things will be very confusing.
It plays just like the others. Talk to people, find clues, figure stuff out, etc. It's not particularly long, but it's not super simple either. There are also a lot of NYC historical figures and places in this.
Not a whole lot else to it. If you try the other Blackwell games and like them, you'll like this.

Great ghost game.
Excellent like all the blackwell games, buy this series if you enjoy jazzy paranormal adventures
It's Wadjet Eye, of course it was amazing.
Without giving too much away, Blackwell Convergence brings back a familiar foe from Blackwell Unbound, as Rosa and Joey investigate a series of deaths that happened under suspicious circumstances. During the course of the game, you will return to Rosa's apartment, and fire up the trusty computer to search for persons and organisations of interest to open up new places to visit, or new people to question. I was satisfied with the puzzles, and did not find them too obtuse.
In terms of graphics, this game is better than the previous two games, the sound design is excellent, as is the catchy, jazz soundtrack.
As with the previous Blackwell games, it's well worth taking the time to listen to Dave Gilbert's commentary track and the bonus material.
I really enjoyed the game from start to finish. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!
neat game
This is the third out of the five Blackwell games and you should definitely play Legacy and Unbound first in order to understand Convergence better because it is a direct continuation.
I liked it just as I liked the other two and will immediately dive into the fourth game now. :)
Yes.
Convergence feels like a big step up from the previous two Blackwell games, which were both already solid. It just feels more polished in various ways. The art and music are fantastic, the characters are well done, and the story, which references the previous games quite a bit, is consistently interesting. You can no longer combine notebook hints in this installment (Rosa just uses them to talk to people), but I think the game flows perfectly well without that. The game did crash on me a couple times, but thanks to the autosave feature, it wasn't a big deal and I could just pick right back up. Overall, great game, and I enjoyed it.
