like it reminds me of blazblue in the just the control scheme only, but that's expected from most Arc Sys games, it feels simple but can be hard to master properly despite the 4 buttons, highly recommened!

Under Night In-birth Exe:Late [cl-r] is a great Fighting game that involves a few gimmicks akin to Blazblue, but it's nothing too major. It has got the safest balance between fighting, mix-ups and use of gimmicks to overwhelm the opponent and claim your victory. It's an upgrade to an already existing game called "Under Night In-birth Exe:Late", it also builds a lot on the story by providing a Story Mode called Chronicle Mode... So if you still want to have the Under Night IN-birth gaming experience, you should get CL-R instead!

After an attack from a Void creature, Hyde develops powers involving his RED Katana... That's basically the whole plot! His friends are part of the roster, and so are some Void creatures and the duo that summoned them.

Now let's talk artstyle, and if you've played Blazblue you'd feel right at home here. The characters are very detailed and each has got a unique gameplay style. Hyde is a Ryu-clone but not really, same with how Vatista is a Chunli clone with a twist; examples of this is how Vatista has got REVERSE charge moves and Hyde has got a 22A move that works as an overhead. There are also summoner characters like Relius Clover from Blazblue and characters with a huge reach... And then there is Carmine. Carmine is the WEIRDEST character I've ever seen in a fighting game as he trades power for his HP... His moves cost HP but on the upside, they're very confusing. There is also Hilda, who has button charge combos that deal tremendous damage if you can time them right.

All in all, Under Night In-birth Exe:Late's only difference with the later [cl-r] rendition is that this latter has a bigger roster. To both games, it's a solid 8/10, and as always if you want to "git gud", head on to the Mission Mode and try your hand at some awesome looking combos that cover the entire screen, before realizing you really can't do most of them and cry lmfao

It's a good game!

I don't know enough about this game to give it a full review. I played it for about half an hour. It was a good time. When you see this on sale, grab it. It's a good fighting game with really nice graphics and game play.

Enjoy the fighting system and mechanics, characters are cool also

Under Night is criminally underrated as captivate with their fluid, dynamic movement animations, which bring a unique charm and visual flair that’s reminiscent of the best action scenes in anime. The attention to detail in character motion, special attacks, and transitions between moves adds to the excitement, creating battles that feel fast-paced and visually striking. Plus intuitive tutorial system, making it accessible even for newcomers. It guides players effortlessly through the mechanics, allowing them to learn the game's intricacies without feeling overwhelmed. The combo system is often easy to grasp but hard to master, offering depth for seasoned players while remaining engaging for beginners. In my opinion, this is one of those titles that, once discovered, can quickly become a favorite.

Underrated fighting game gem, remember to buy Arcade Stick alongside too for those who play with PC, it's skill issue for me to play this on keyboard back then.

Due to UNIB2, you should only get this game if you care about the series' story; this game has a visual novel mode that takes place before 2's story. If you're a normal human being and don't care about fighting game stories, you can skip out on this one.
