Kind of Janky. Doesn't feel good.
Looks great and the voice acting is good, but the stealth lets it down, with AIs having no turning animations. You are sneaking up on them and then they are facing you in a flash.
There's more to this than meets the eye. I promise!
Pros:
1) Story - It may seem standard and predictable it first glance, but if you really think about it the developers attention to detail is actually quite impressive. I won't say more because of spoilers but I'll make a post in the discussion section for anyone wondering what I'm talking about.
2) Play your way - I won't try to say that this is the Undertale of VR because I don't need that kind of drama in my life thank you very much. However, I think everyone can agree that there are thematic similarities. Did you kill every guard? Did you kill civilians? What about the rats and chickens? And of course the biggest question... did you stop to play the lute?????
3) Length vs Price - I'll fully admit that I kind of speed ran my first playthrough simply because I really wanted to see how the story progressed. That took me a little more than two hours. That being said I also fully intend to replay the game at least once, maybe twice, because there are things I definetly missed and other things I really want to try. So if you get the game on sale like I did, for $4, then I can without a doubt say it's worth it. Honestly though, I don't think I'd really mind paying full price for this one, and that is HIGH praise coming from me.
4) Voice Acting - It's there, and it's not bad. There isn't a lot of it of course because it's a stealth game, and some characters are better than others, but overall I think it's good enough to put it in the Pros section.
5) Difficulty Level - This could be a pro or a con depending on what you really want out of this game. Other reviews aren't lying when they say you can win this game by pretty much walking up to every enemy and just waving a knife in their face. However, I will say that, at least for me, this strategy did not work when facing multiple enemies at once. I actually kind of appreciated that this was an option because I was in it for the story, not so much for the gruling, unforgiving stealth-gameplay. You could still play it that way if you wish, I'm just acknowledging that there is an easy out for those of you that want it.
Cons:

2) Bugs - There were a few moments when my knife would just flat out stop working and I would die and have to start that section over. The knife would still not work and I'd have to kill the guards with the bow and arrow and just pray that it wasn't one of those moments when the guards just refuse to die even after being hit in the face four times. However, I did not find any bugs that I would say were "game-breaking," just a few that were annoying.
This game regularly crashes & is not of the quality expected for the money paid $10USD. I didn't find this fun & only persisted because I wanted to give the game a chance to get better. It was short but the ending was terrible. So bad that it just made all the experiences in the game no worth it. The constant glitches, issues with enemies, glitches with weapons. The list goes on. This game is more like an early access beta. It's not a finished title and shouldn't be classed as one. The devs need about 6-12 months more work to fix all the bugs and they definitely need to rewrite the ending. It was so bad & not a reward for finishing it. Highly NOT recommended.
Played with Windows Mixed Reality (Acer)
Pro:
- decent art style
- adequate game length (2.5-3 hrs)
- German translation
- smooth locomotion
- save points are well spread, you can easily stop every ~10 min
Con:
- stupid guards - AI is non-existent
[*] aiming with the bow is rather a game of luck (at least with WMR)
I've enjoyed the three hours of game play the devs even prepared a beta for me to run on WMR headsets - which they (currently( don't have themselves. Therefore I had to use the touchpad for locomotion, so WMR users should be aware that they can't use their thumb sticks.
The game tries to walk in foot steps of Shadwen but does not really achieve that goal. Still, the art style and the sneaking gives enough entertainment for the few hours. The current price tag of EUR 8 is adequate.
Experienced on the Oculus Rift with Touch Controllers. Spoiler-free Review.
This game has so much wasted potential. I originally saw this game when it was priced at $24.99 and I was tempted but I figured I'd wait for some reviews before splurging. A little while later I see the game has dropped in price to $9.99, but I'm seeing the negative reviews. Then a few days later the Steam Summer Sale starts and it's down to $6.99.
Is this game worth it? Sure. As long as you keep your expectations low. I finished the whole game in 2.6 hours. It starts out with a very good opening narrative scene. It also has an okay ending. Unfortunately, there is little narrative in between. It's really either kill the guards or avoid detection. I, of course, decided to kill everything in my path. The practice of law will leave you with that inner silent rage that ... well, I digress. Long story short, I enjoy backstabbing stuff.
However, the core combat stealth mechanic is just not very interesting. It gets tedious after awhile. You stab things in the back for 1 hit kills. You avoid line of sight and running near guards as they will hear your footsteps if you run near them. You can break line of sight by getting behind objects (crouching in real life helps). The chickens & rats making noise when you get near them don't seem to attract the guard's attention. Humans making noises however can. Backstabbing a guard and launching them in the air also doesn't seem to get much attention. Although, killing by bow does seem to make them walk towards the dead guard if they are close by.
You can also kill guards 1 on 1 out in the open. 2 on 1 is probably your death. You have three targets to kill. One is at a camp, the other is in a castle, and the other is in a prison. You basically go down the corridors for the most part and just clear the area or stealthily walk away. There really wasn't a whole lot of graphical variety, just very generic for the most part. There's daytime, nighttime, and I guess dusk settings as well. Killing the end targets is anti-climatic. Killing civilians gets you an achivement.
After you progress you gain additional abilities. You get a bow, then a throwing knife (that's really just for distractions of killing chickens/ rats), and finally a smoke bomb to disorient enemies away from you. Those unlock sound cool, but they are all clunky in the execution. The bow does have a larget hitbox, but that's good because you need to get headshots to 1 shot guards. It just doesn't feel good shooting it. The throwing knife is just not that useful as a distraction unless you're going for a pure stealth no kill run. And the smoke bomb is kind of op, but annoying to use. You can't see anything and you get disoriented as well.
Still, despite all the shortcoming, this is good amount of content for $6.99, especially in VR. You have a nice-length game that is at least something different than most VR offerings.
Rate 6/10.
This game sucks.. nothing more to say. Don't waste your money, the trailer makes it look like a lot of fun, but it's horribly made, don't even buy this on a sale.
A really cool concept but executed poorly for VR. the graphics although meant to be blocky are just awful even on the highest setting. the story is plain and simple but due to bad execution of the stealth mechanic it really throughs off the stealthness. the bow is awful and has a big hit box so even if you shoot around a corner it can still hit the corner. the begining has the length of the skyrim opeing cutscene. the dialouge fits in poorly with the mood and character voices a really odd. there is a loud sound that plays when you put away your blade and gets anoying after a while. in the eggining segments where you kill people it seems odd that you cant blend in. one mechanic taht is good is the climbing but just get climbey if you like that sort of thing.
Not a good game, not worth thirty dollars, 10 dollars at most.
Fun game where you can unleash your rage on innocent people by shoving a dagger anywhere you'd like. Satisfying combat and a pleasing look. The developers care about this game and it shows, but I still think 29.99 is a bit too high.
