It’s just a red tomato with a silly hat, trying to be a cool tomb raider by rolling and jumping all over the maps. Help him find all the treasures in the abandoned alien base, or watch him die... in many painful ways.
Tomato Jones - Episode 3 is the exciting third installment in the fun-filled series, following Tomato Jones and Tomato Jones 2, both available on Steam.
It This physics-based puzzle/adventure game combines classic RPG platformer gameplay with the skill-driven style of ball-rolling games. Your goal is to collect all coins and the hidden golden artifact at the end of each level while avoiding various dangerous traps, obstacles, and enemies.
Unlike its predecessors, this game is set in a sci-fi atmosphere, packed with humor and funny moments.
WHAT'S NEW
30 beautiful and challenging sci-fi levels
New dangerous traps... and DRONES!
Mr. Jones talks to himself like a madman.
Innovative camera movement and viewing angles that will test your nerves.
A completely new world map and areas to explore.
Partial controller support (but I don’t recommend it!)
Expect to see the message "DS die count reached!" way more often.
WHAT'S OLD
Great-looking "soft body" tomato physics.
Multiple funny hats to choose from, plus new additions.
Fun soundtrack and SFX.
Tons of ketchup.
Mine carts?! Of course! ;)
Get ready to die... a lot.
Tomato Jones - Episode 3 is the hardest of the three games, and I strongly recommend playing the first two as well the Tomato Jones and Tomato Jones 2.

Tomato Jones 3 is yet another construction kit template copy+paste from serial shovelware pushers and asset flippers, SA Industry/Mikhail Melnikov/ZemunBRE. These guys do nothing but copy premade game templates and game tutorials, fill out a few things/stamp out basic levels using the construction kit templates, slap on an asset flipped set of sprites/assets, and dump them on Steam and into cheap nasty shovelware game bundles as cash grabs. Trying to get paid for someone else's game templates, assets... at best, this is shovelware, at worst, it's a scam/cash grab.
This time they've slapped together (or gotten their hands on someone elses) Blender Game Engine/PyGame marble platformer, and slapped a copyright infringing "Star Wars" skin on it, with fruit... gameplay is a very tired, unpolished act of rolling around 3D puzzle levels avoiding obstacles/spikes... it's tiresome in concept and even more tiresome in the low quality implementation. I really hope Disney goes after these guys for copyright infringement.
Satire may be a workable legal defense for them when LucasFilm comes with their legal action. Hopefully soon, but I won't hold my breath... there's little justice in this world for gamers, and too much tolerance for unethical "developers" who steal the work of others and try to scam gamers into paying for it. A serious accusation, but here's the proof:
HA Studio Ltd./SA Industry/Mikhail Melnikov (there's a few shell accounts and shady partners that SA Industry deals with from their crime den in Brazil) have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:
- "Drive For Your Life" = Zombie Drive - Full Game Template developed by Puppeteer
- "Falling Words" = 2D Typing Game developed by Steelkrill Studio
- "Kingdom Defense" = Tower Defense Basic Pixel Art Pack developed by FreeThePlayerOnGame
- "Fox and Bunny" = Sunny Land developed by Ansimuz
- "Bounce" = Bounce Mobile Game Unity Project developed by GhandiGames
- "Face" = Red Runner developed by Bayat Games
- "Nice Way" = White Peas developed by EVGames
[*] "Squares" = Push the Squares Pack developed by Shorka Games
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the mid 2000s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with.
Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the video game construction kit/toolset, Blender Game Engine/PyGame. This is a very poor quality toolset sometimes used by amateur/unskilled developers as it doesn't require advanced game development skills, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players, now the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian and Brazilian asset flippers and review manipulators who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk.
Tomato Jones 3 has the completely unrealistic cash grab price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the unethical nature of the developer. Remember that if you buy a game from an unethical developer, you're putting your money at risk.
As the character says many times... wow.
This game looks good. It however has many bugs.
The first two games had some horrible controls that would start auto moving in one random direction and never stop which made them unplayable. This one somehow fixed that bug but created such a large frame rate issue that it make it hard to play even on simple levels. At one point I fell into the water and the frame rate went to 1 for about 30 seconds. If they could only clean up the code it would actually be a fun game.
Star Wars: The Tomato Menace
If you don't buy all 3 of these games you're doing it wrong. Best trilogy of all time, no question.
Tomato Jones - Episode 3!!!
Alright, let's start with this review,
The Pros
- It has gorgeous graphics
- The dialogue is fun
- the idea is really unique
- It's really fun
- the hats, THE HATS!
The Cons
[*]The soundtrack can get a bit tedious at times
Overall, it is a great game, and I definitely recommend it, it has a sily idea, it's got great gameplay, and it's really great game, buy it for your family, for yourself, for your loved one. The I had a glitch where i couldn't start the next level, and the Dev was really nice and helped me fix it, Definetly a 9/10
