It is indeed a match 3 game.
It's just like... a chill game man...
My grandma walked in on me playing this game and said "Is this like that Candy Crush game I play a lot?", before laughing uncontrollably. Except that did not happen, she's dead. I miss you grandma. Great game!
Just got done with 100%. There was absolutely no need to go this hard. restored my faith in match-3s as a genre. highly recommend, it's peak fiction i'm afraid.

I just like bejeweled, 10/10
Although I've only played this for 4 hours on Steam I've played it for countless hours on my PC, phone, and tablet. This is easily the best of the first three games. It's one of those games that's very easy to understand and start playing but it takes time and skill to really be good at it. That's what keeps me playing: the thought that I just played a good game but I'm sure I can do better the next time. The music and graphics are great, and the voiceover giving encouragement is a nice touch. I never feel pressured or rushed while playing this game in Classic mode.
It is the classic "match three" type game, nice music, some fun side games, and a "Zen" mode for meditiavive play.
It's a classic- what's not to love? If you need to pass a few hours vibing then this is the one for you!

This will forever be my favorite Match 3 game of all time. I've been playing Bejeweled for over 20 years now, and it has stood the test of time. I like the soundtrack, relaxing gameplay, and variety of game modes. It's perfect for when I'm in the mood for a cozier game.
Best game for your granny!
For context, I have played every mainline installment of Bejeweled up until 3- 1, 2 and Twist- and have enjoyed them all. My review is pinned as 'No', despite the gameplay being mostly unchanged from what I came to love. There are things to enjoy in this game- the core match-3 loop is still addicting, and Classic and Zen modes are practically unchanged from 2 aside from the latter featuring 'relaxation' elements in its own options menu I find interesting, though I have little use for them.
My problem is that they are effectively unchanged, and being these are the two game modes I enjoy the most I find it difficult to recommend this game over 2. One section in which I find 3 to be a downgrade is in 'Quest' mode, its effective replacement for 2's Puzzle mode. For context, 2 had a Puzzle mode consisting of a long series of pre-planned layouts of gems with defined solutions- a proper puzzle, with an intended end-state that linked in with Bejeweled's space themes quite well as you traveled from system to system to reach the center of a galaxy. Among most of PopCap's offerings being mystical to varying degrees, it made Bejeweled 2 feel unique among them.
Quest mode is in my honest opinion flatly worse than Puzzle mode. It consists of what are effectively gimmicks stapled atop Classic or Zen mode gem generation, replacing defined solutions with creative results of gemfalls and clears with random chance. Bejeweled does have a certain amount of skill that can be used in playing well, but much of Quest feels like a grind since there's no incremental progress- you either manage to not mess up long enough for the gimmick of the minigame to complete, or you fail and get unceremoniously kicked out to the selection screen to click in again. (Why you just don't get an option to restart right within the minigame, I have no idea.) There's much less planning involved, primarily with the timed minigames as regardless of what skill I can express, the hard time limit on random gem generation means they feel like ramming up into a brick wall, a waste of time.
Lesser nitpicks: the announcer is putting his heart into the voice, but compared to the measured voice of the announcer of 2 coming to 3 just annoys me more than anything. It sounds forcibly 'epic', a similar feel to the rest of Bejeweled 3's theming, that takes me out of the experience to the point I have muted the voice lines at times. The unlockable modes, as well as Lightning mode, are effectively just extended versions of the gimmick minigames- while I have enjoyed a few of them, most I find little draw to repeating again and again, though at least outside of the minigames having a score to beat rather than a hard limit to achieve makes them slightly more palatable.
The core gameplay of Bejeweled 3 is unchanged from 2, which is why I say you should play Bejeweled 2 Deluxe instead. I believe it's usually cheaper outside of discount anyways. I would have a review of it, but I still own my jewel case CD-ROM of the game and still play it that way.

It is an easy mindless game to play to music. It has simple strategy.
I played for an hour and a half, and I loved every second of it.
now the game crashes whenever I try to launch it. uninstalling and reinstalling does not fix this.
I don't recommend a game that can only be played once before irreversibly destroying itself.

This is a classic game that I love.
I have over 2 million points in classic mode right now after being on my ADHD meds for one day, and now I'm too terrified to continue the session because I don't want to fuck it all up.

I put over 75 hours into a simple match-3 game, so that should already say a lot.
Its a game from a simpler time, in the age just before the casual puzzle genre became inundated with greedy monetization schemes, annoying advertisement galore, or games that just tried too hard. Bejeweled 3 acts as kind of "final hurrah" for the golden age of casual gaming from the mid-2000s. The original Bejeweled played a huge part in popularizing the genre at the turn of the century, so it is fitting that Bejeweled 3 released near the culmination of that era.
As for the game itself, Bejeweled 3 is attractive both visually and mechanically. Gameplay is simple and addicting, with a few changes and new game modes to spice things up from the previous entries in the series. There are 8 game modes in total, each one offering a different way to experience Bejeweled's gem-matching fever. There is something here for everybody. I highly recommend.
These games were the peak of the genre when they came out, or so i thought. as time has passed I've found games i enjoy in this genre much more such as Treasures of Montezuma 4 and the flashgames Biogems and Dangerous Adventure. In the year 2024 I wouldn't recommend the game due to the superior alternatives and the fact that I fell 2 is just a slightly more enjoyable experience aesthetically.
Cozy, fun puzzle game. I remember when I was 7-10 years old, I'd spend the night at my grandparents house, my Grandma would whip out her old laptop or desktop and boot up this game. I would spend hours playing it. It reminds me so much of home when I am away, and the good times I'd spend with my grandma eating her lemon cakes.
Well, there's no question it's one of the greatest games ever made.

Even if it's been a very long time since 2010, Bejeweled 3 still holds the crown as the best match-3 game.
It's a classic gem-matching experience, this time bringing back some old and new game modes along the way.
The new menu looks more alive and interactive.
Profile has enhanced stats, like total playtime, total gems matched, most matched color etc.
-'Classic mode' is back once again, along with fan-loved mode 'Zen'
-New modes: Butterfly, Lightning, Ice Storm, Poker, Diamond Mine
One of the most notable additions to the game is Quest Mode, which contains some exclusive modes and gimmicks not normally available in any other mode.
As for the gem-matching itself, there are 2 new special gem types.
If you're a fan of, or loved spending tons of hours in Bejeweled 2, Bejeweled 3 is a must-have for every match-3 genre enthusiast.
I bought this at some point and never realized it, to fill out my Popcap collection (which is at 26 games unless I missed one in my library). I thought Twist was the last game before everyone starting spending their entire paychecks on Candy Crush powerups. I found it in my library and installed it. There's something magical about Popcap games that the imitators never seemed to capture. With Bejeweled, maybe it's Skaven doing the soundtrack, but I don't think that's it. The game just feels right.
Watched my mom play this game on our DS a lot as a kid. Honestly one of the best puzzle games out there; you can't ever go wrong with Bejeweled.
