simple yet effective tower defense with multiplayer
Updated September 2021: The game started working. The game menu did not show in VR but it did show on my monitor. So I could point with the valve index controller and start the game while looking at the monitor. After this the game started working and the image is now shown in the VR headset as well.
Now that the game works, it is actually a great tower defense game.

Old review:
The game cannot start with Valve Index... It crashes on startup and unfortunately I cannot get a refund because it has been too long since I bought the game.
Awesome game! Using standard HTC Vive and no issues at all. However, the difficulty gets quite challenging quickly. I am still working on different strategies to beat some levels.
Very well done, Devs! Please give us more Islands to conquer!
Update 2021-02-24: I just finished this game yesterday. It abruptly stops after the 4th Island, level 2. I beat Level 2 on Islands #4, and the games says "The next level is not ready yet". However, it looks like it never will be ready because it has been years since this game was updated.
Great game, but I would like it even more if the Dev just finished it and even created more Islands, even if they were to be purchased DLC's. Such a shame to see such a great game stop without even a sequel.
Why does this game crashes everytime I tried starting it?
Is there an issue here???
I was going to thumb this up, because the gameplay is mostly solid. It's basically your run-of-the-mill tower defense game with occasional "boss levels" where you can send waves at your opponent in addition to defending. However, the game ends abruptly and the final levels are not implemented. The game is still in Early Access and there has been no word from the devs for over a year, so I'm going to cry abandonware and give it a thumbs down. A shame.
Some other things worth knowing:
This game works fine seated, except for the 3 boss levels where you have to look behind you. Swivel chair saves the day!
There is about 5-8 hours worth of content, so if you grab this game on a sale it's kind of worth it. Just be aware that the game is not fully finished. Also, there are some issues with player height on Oculus headsets, the camera is clearly higher up than intended.
Very fun game with the cool idea of having to manage both defense and offense even though currently, it seems more logical to only do defense and maybe work towards upgrading troops that you know will come in mass quantity later in the base waves. It's an early access game but as far as I can tell it was never updated? I'm still gonna put a positive review because I enjoyed my experience with it, especially for a $10 pricetag.
Short review after 3 rounds:
First of all I like the game and it is a good tower defense and can make some fun but there are some things that need to be changed.
So I will recommend the game when these things change:
1.) You can only set towers on predefined positions.
Thats a major issue... Would be 100% cooler if you could set towers where you want.
I mean building them like in Warcraft and not on these predefined boxes.
2.) Besides your roomscale you can't change your position on the map.
Add more positions or enable Fly-Over.
And also give the option to zoom in (that youre closer to the battle and everything looks bigger).
Currently you sit in a chair and spectate/build towers from some distance.
There is no real VR-necessity. You could play this game on the Desktop aswell.
These two points would be quite important for me.
I bought the game during a sale for ~6,99€.
That's OK but I would not pay more money for the current state of the game.
The game has some potential though.
Starts as a standard tower defense. Ideal number of units, towers and upgrades.
Additionally there is a battle mode, when you can set up your wave while still must do the tower defense thing.
Very well balanced. Fun for a 7-10 hours.
Not really uses the VR capabilities, but controls are fine and easy.
Recommended!
Really fun Tower Defense game with easy controls and nice graphics. It reminds me of the old original Warcraft game. There are three islands where you fight in multiple rounds. For the price, it is a great game and fun time waster.

It's a VERY basic for TD game. Towers are very typical and tower effects and placement options are very limited, why are they spaced so far apart? There's very little room for strategy, doesn't seem to be any focus on tower synergy. Just watch some youtube videos and basically everyone ends up doing the same thing because it really is that limited. I didn't play the offense part however.
There's also no way to adjust the camera and you're so far from the battlefield, I don't see the point playing this in VR, unlike Brass Tactics and Castle Must Be Mine which let you zoom in anywhere and get INTO the battlefield which is amazing to see.
I might revisit this game when it's complete but for now it feels very underwhelming. I think you'd only enjoy this if you're totally new to TD games. I've had far more fun in android TD games like Fieldrunners 2 and Prime Defenders.
Not really a "VR" game, sure it's 3D and all that, and it's a fun little tower defence game, but there is litteraly no need, rhyme, or reason, to play in VR.
But it's cheep (when on sale) and fun to play so I can't not recomend it.
A neat little game that's a mixture of Tower Defense and Warcraft. I really like it.
Game info:
* 3 worlds with 5 maps in each. About 5-15 min gameplay per map.
* Really great tutorial where you start playing immediately.
* Quite difficult to earn a perfect score, but it wouldn't be fun otherwise.
* The game appeals to strategic players.
That game uses nothing of the VR, the sound is broken, and I ain't gona play 30 level until it gets interesting....
It's not bad per say, it just as nothing unique right away. Maybe later, but I won't play a series of level where the only goal is to build basic towers from a third person perspective that fell like a flash game in term of mechanics in the hope that something somewhat good will come eventually.
Am disapointed, and hope this game get better.
Awesome tower defense game. Beginning levels are pretty simple the later ones can get challenging. Love the tower defense levels where you attack and defend on the campaign.
its basic but very fun just you looking down placing towers and upgrading them recommend for a break from manic vring
Classic tower defense game. The graphics are perfectly done. The tower defense is straightforward - nothing new here.
The twist is at certain levels and non-campaign games you have the opportunity to attack as well as defend. Unfortunately the economy part of this doesn't seem all that well thought out. I found it most productive to ignore upgrading my attacks and instead spend money on defense. Maybe I don't understand it well enough.
This is a very addictive game! Be Warned!
This has easily got to be one of the best most re playable games on the Vive right now. Its a very well worked stratagy game that has you try and stop opposing forces from getting into your castle.

10/10.
Really fun game, I didn't think I would like a tower defense game in VR but they do a good job at implementing VR into it.
1 of the best TD in VR. Highly polished, well balanced. 3 worlds x 5 levels each. 7+ hours of gameplay.
9/10.
Me and my friends love this game! Big thumbs up! but PLEASE make it cross platform! I ant to play with my Gear Vr friends!
It's been a pretty standard tower defense game so far with a VR flair. Been enjoying it. I want to play more before I leave a more thorough review though. At the moment, I can recommend.
