Animals Memory: Underwater Kingdom is the exact same game as all other Animal Memory games. It is a very bare-bones memory puzzle game, where you are allowed a maximum of 3 mistakes per boards. It doesn't offer anything impressive in the graphical or audio department, has no story at all and takes only half an hour to complete.
I would've given this game a mixed or even a positive review, but not for a $4 game. The fact that the game gets harder so quickly and only has 18 levels (which can be completed in around 20-25 minutes), doesn't justify the old price of $1 which is now $4 for less than half an hour of content.
Overall, as a quick achievement game or very simplistic memory game, it's fine.
Nice game EZ to get all achievements 100%
Just restart 1st lvl to get all achievements 100%
Achievement hunter material.
Cute underwater kingdom
There are only two reasons to get this game:
1) if your kids want to play on your PC
2) achievements
The game is simple, no challenge whatsoever, art is basic Google images thrown into Unity, nothing spectacular. If you get this on sale, that's an even bigger perk.
This is a classic memory game with animals. It also has easy achievements, however I would not recommend buying this game at full price, as it is quite expensive and goes onto 90% sale often.
Warning: Asset Flip!
Animals Memory: Underwater Kingdom is an asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The Russian "developer" paid for/pirated someone else's Unity card matching tutorial game demo/asset pack, slapped on some stock images of fish that Laush stole off the internet (again without crediting the owners of those images), and submitted it to Valve as if it was their own game.
Laush Dmitriy Sergeevich/Laush Studio have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:
- "Unmanned helicopter" = Simple Town Pack developed by MyxerMan
- "Old Factory" = Realistic FPS PreFab developed by Azuline Studios
[*] "Tower Defense Sudden Attack" = Tower Defence Template developed by Keeree Games
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
The game features simple 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and competence and unfortunately not all developers have the budget or talent to deliver this, despite 3D graphics cards hitting the mainstream in the 1990's. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing.
This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all).
Regardless, for all intents and purposes "Animals Memory: Underwater Kingdom" might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
It's also important to note the "developer" here has connections to a number of shady Russian asset flippers and review manipulators (Repa Games, Falco Software etc) who show an organised pattern to scam and defraud gamers with fake reviews and asset flipping the work of others for profit. While reviews are about the games, gamers should be informed when developers act unethically. Whether these connections are the same developer using multiple accounts, or just working closely with other unethical developers, gamers should be warned about the harm to gamers by this developer and their associates. Buying games from unethical developers puts your money at risk.
Warning: Review Manipulation!
This game features a small number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian or broken English, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product.
Animals Memory: Underwater Kingdom has the unethical price of around $4 USD (for software the "developer" stole from others), it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the unethical nature of the developer. Remember that if you buy a game from an unethical developer, you're putting your money at risk. Because this is the kind of game you can just play for free on mobile phones, it's impossible to recommend anyone should pay money for the same experience on Steam.
Decent pics, but too small. Easy 100% chevos. Good for memory if you really play the game.
A lot of levels, good graphics, good game.
Animals Memory: Underwater Kingdom.
+ Easy completion
Animals Memory: Underwater Kingdom is the sixth game in the series that presents 18 unique memory tests displaying pictures of various underwater creatures. There are 55 achievements related to each memory test you pass meaning you will have to play more times than levels provided. This is not a problem for the harder levels, but if you pass each level without making a mistake then you are left with achievements that are still locked even though all the levels are completed with three stars. It's a bit contradicting considering each game in the series has a random number related to the achievements tied to the amount of wins. Rate 5/10 (neutral) meaning the game is not good or bad and the way the game is sold as individual titles versus downloadable content which would have this one game with a bunch of different themes.
5/10
I realize this is the same game copied with the pictures changed ,but it is simple and the easy achievements too, the game in it self is a okay puzzle
Easy 100 %.
A cheap memory game. Not that difficult, and not over-priced. Featuring aquatic animals.
I am here only for achievements. Game was good at its first 1 and 2 installment, this one is the 7th. Cheap grab.
Suitable memory game for children of all ages, babies, preschoolers, school children, teenagers and adults with 18 levels. Ranging from lightweight to large and complex levels. Easy for achievementhunters.
Another match 2 game that should have been a DLC to the original game, a FREE DLC that is. How can you justify charging money each time you just change the Googled stock images for the cards?
