Notes from the developer:
- This is not a puzzle game, in Citystate there is no right combination to build a successful Nation. This is a sandbox, old school style in which most building tools are unlocked at the start. There are no mandatory guided steps, aside from a brief independent tutorial.
- Micro-management is minimal in Citystate; you won't need to build public facilities or set up bus lines. Instead, the game focuses on macro-management and economics, encouraging you to explore the big picture and experiment with political ideologies.
- The game mechanics are based on today’s global economy. The effect of policies aim to mirror real-world nations and their inherent differences. Citystate is often politically incorrect and possibly biased.
- The game is specifically designed for mature audiences.

I like how they balanced the mix of economics with politics.
I used to play this game a lot 5 years ago. I would always go bankrupt because I didn't understand how it worked. I recently got back into it and after a few tries I made a successful city. Buy it. It's cool.
I am on mac and the game keeps shutting down every 5 seconds I cant even play
sick game
This seemed like a nice game. complex, yes, but with a nice learning curve. sadly, there is a bug that makes it nearly unplayable: roads constantly count as "not connected to main network" and building to gain road access. without, the whole growth system doesn't work. sad!
other city game
Citystate – "Build your dream nation, for better or for worse!" 🏙️💰
Welcome to Citystate, where you get to unleash your inner dictator—er, I mean, leader! This game lets you create a 21st-century micro-nation and explore all the economic and political ideologies you can dream up (or nightmares, depending on how things go). 🌍💡
Want a shiny metropolis with futuristic skyscrapers? Go for it! Prefer to embrace the charm of a crumbling slum? Who are we to judge? Your nation is a canvas, and you're the artist, even if your masterpiece looks like it was painted by a toddler with a crayon. 🎨✏️
The real fun comes from balancing your economy while juggling the demands of your citizens. Will they love you for providing top-notch services, or will they rise up because you forgot to fix the potholes? 🚧👥 The choices are endless, and the consequences are as satisfying as watching a poorly constructed bridge collapse!
If you enjoy city-building games with a dash of political intrigue, Citystate is the perfect playground for your grand ideas—just remember, every great leader has to navigate a few bumpy roads! 🚦🌆

its, a game. havent really figured out the city building aspect of the game, def not on par with other titles.
but, this game is more about having fun with policy,
but, theres a whole like 50 citys you can make, and develop, make a 4 of them, let them trade, sometimes they prosper, sometimes they dont.
i enjoy it cause i knew about the books and other similar games based on the book
worth checking out? idk, but its fun if youve ever wanted more politics and policy in your city building adventures.
A VERY addictive SimCity like simulation. With less of the micromanaging, and more depth to things like political features. Those are the parts that really keep me engaged; trying to make a pure communist state work, or a pure capitalist or libertarian state.
Fun game, missing some elements of city building. Enjoying the Democracy style gov options. Republic of Banana has fallen
