While the design looks and feels like something straight from Flash games you see on websites (anyone during 2000 era that does this knows what I'm talking about, though I'm sure some people still play those things), the gameplay is beautiful. Its practically made into more Megaman-like style which is pretty challenging but also fair. Boss fights are tough but possible to get by. Really good game overall, so I recommend it.

I am a major fan of Megaman, and have played a lot of clones. However, not one of them, even the most acclaimed ones like RKS, can come close to being as enjoyable to me as Invasher is.

Invasher is great at being both a good Megaman clone, and also carving it's own identity with the way it handles boss fights. The levels play like your standard Megaman clone, but the boss fights are typically in two phases: the combat phase, and the bullet hell phase. In the combat phase, you get your chance to damage the enemy using whatever weapons you have. After they take a certain amount of damage, it switches into bullet hell mode, where you are unable to hit the enemy and have to dodge a barrage of attacks before they come back. This made learning the boss patterns very fun.

The graphics are simplistic and adorable, really matching the feel of the old school Megaman games. However, a lot of modern Megaman mechanics such as easy modes with added platforms and a shop are added. Unlike Megaman, you will need to buy any weapons after unlocking them, but they're all worth getting even if some bosses are easier to defeat shot only. There is also a melee attack added, and a choice of 3 characters with slightly different stats. Also unlike Megaman, you can change difficulty between levels if the game is too hard or easy for you.

Invasher is a great game because it maintains a lot of what makes a Megaman game so fun while also remembering to carve out it's own identity that's similar in tone and style to Megaman. It feels like it's own original project that doesn't ride on the coattails of another game's success, while also having a lot for fans of the game it's inspired by to enjoy. I highly recommend this game!

To be brief, this is a classic Megaman game with a different skin. Instead of a robot boy, you are an anime girl who is part of an Earth protection force known as Invasher Team. Instead of an angry scientist in a UFO, you fight a weird cat alien from outer space. Instead of robot masters, you fight other weird aliens conveniently color-coded so you know their elemental weakness. The plot boils down to 'these aliens are evil, go kick 'em off the planet.'

The gameplay is extremely familiar to those who have played classic Megaman. Go right, kill anything in your way, jump across platforms, reach the boss room, kill the boss. There are eight elemental aliens to defeat, after which you challenge Veg (the weird alien, as the game calls him). There are three difficulties, and speaking as someone who only tried Easy and Medium, there are noticeable differences in both level layout and boss patterns. Easy Mode has the quirk from Megaman 10 where extra platforms are added to the level to make platforming easier.

There are some differences from classic Megaman, however. You have two methods of attack; one is the usual Buster, the other is a melee attack with decent range. Instead of instantly acquiring abilities after defeating each alien, you have to buy them from the shop. Money is fairly plentiful and you can revisit stages to grind if necessary, so it's not that big a deal. Abilities affect both methods of attack, with the Buster gaining different shot types that consume energy. Punching only has an elemental affinity added to it, but it does not consume energy. The game's campaign does not include a boss rush, but the game will allow you to fight individual bosses or all of them at once after you beat the game.

The presentation is decent for a game of this genre. The graphics are a mixed bag, with the girls of Invasher Team being the most detailed spritework in the game. Veg and the other aliens look very crude, like they were made in MS Paint. While the enemy variety is decent, many enemies in later stages are simple palette swaps of enemies in early stages. The backgrounds and level assets are inoffensive, serving their purpose well. The cutscenes are hilariously bad with awkwardly translated dialogue and rough art direction. The music evokes classic Megaman to a fault; I recommend purchasing the OST to switch to the Plus music, as it sounds better than the hollow, samey chiptune arrangements included by default.

If you like classic Megaman, this might scratch an itch for you. You might still find something to like here if you don't, but don't expect anything as polished as Capcom's historic franchise. I got this on sale, and I highly suggest you wait for one if you're considering playing this.

Invasher is a steam videogame featuring a girl with a purple combing twist of linear oriented action like a megaman blown to the top clone!

First of all lets get the speculation positives out of the way so i can mention the negatives later in plumping garbage headliner scenarios!

I like the boss battles that are meaningful as threatening and flimsy challenging as u continue on the game! They gradually get clamping harder as u proceed to the next stage!

They are unique and very halftime show creative as ur fighting for dissects stardom as u unite your menacing attacks on these showstopper foes!

The music is alright and a decent soundtrack some can get trickly drama annoying and it may make you rage into a thunder burst of loudness as it swiftly irritates your gloomy head of yours!

The controls feel in a same change of pace as a megaman look-alike and its comfortable for the most delicate part!

Here comes the negative entries what i didnt like about this glistening game!First of all the level design is bland every stage is really just a wallpaper background with a flashy cent of animation and it never shows that the world is alive and well presented! So it gets a drifted nasty point for that basis!

The enemies are just placed in here and its very double edged frustrating as you encounter these lushed enemies and bouncing minions all over the damn place! Its never satisfying and it can get on your ouchy nerves in a multitude millisecond heartbeat!!!

Last thing i hate is that the levels can be very boring and never last in installments as megaman selections as Capcom knows how to craft great artistic level design! But this guy did his best and i say pick it up for when its on sale directly and give him some praise for the effort he did to create an alright masterpiece but its never reunited as a classic!

I give this game a 8.9/10 its not bad its worth playing once and beating the boss rush mode but i wouldnt play it again because the 3 negative outtakes of what i think about this game love the burrito master!!!

Actually a quite fun and engaging platformer despite how simple it otherwise appears.

The game maintains a really consistent and satisfying level of challenge, having a long range and short range attack as well as alternate attacks to be swapped out adds a lot of depth to the feel of the combat. The character upgrading and currency system is a great addition to help make the progress feel more meaningful.

It's really nice that each stage has its own completely different environment and soundtrack, as well as new enemies that are introduced. The bosses are alright but the bullet spam sequences they all go through at half health are really frustrating and mostly just serve as trial and error gates that kill the player a few times. It makes stacking extra lives extremely important especially since every boss is going to take multiple tries generally while the player learns the pattern.

It also would of been nice if the game had an actual story to it, with at least a dialogue sequence before or after every boss. That would of added a lot of substance to the game as there's not really a story to it, and the dialogue that does exist is extremely generic. Only really made entertaining by the bad translation.

Surprisingly enjoyable and the challenge really makes it compelling the play, with a fair amount of decently unique content to play through.

If you're interested in finding more games like this I've probably reviewed quite a few on my curator page here .

Eng:

A great platformer based on the good old days.
Nice jump 'n' run action, a lot of shooting (yes, it's fun), and evil boss fights with a lot of bullet hell!

The original soundtrack can be activated in-game if you have purchased the DLC. And it's worth it, because the DLC sounds are much better than the 8-bit soundtrack you normally hear in the game.

Unfortunately, you have to fiddle a little, because the controller mapping only works really well with the Xpadder. But as soon as you have your desired key assignment, you're ready to go!

8/10 points

Great music, very lovingly designed levels and clean collision detection. It's worth it, especially together with the Soundtrack-DLC!

Don't be misled by the simple graphical style, this is a well-designed, fun platformer.

The gameplay is reminiscent of classic Mega Man games. You make your way through a total of 15 stages, each with new obstacle and enemy types. Your character has a rapid-firing gun and a melee attack that deals double damage. The stages are well-crafted, even if they're rather on the easy side due to the large abundance of extra health (you practically get 1 HP for every 10 enemies you kill). Nothing you haven't seen before, but enjoyable nonetheless.

The best part about this game are the boss fights though. Each boss will launch a bullet-hell-type series of attacks midway through the fight that you need to survive before you can continue to attack them. Those bullet-hell attacks can seem impossible at first, but you will feel all the more accomplished once you've actually mastered them (or at least barely survived with one remaining HP). A boss rush mode lets you practice individual bosses, so the game never feels unfair, and if you're in for a challenge, check out hard mode with altered level designs and even more difficult boss patterns.

EDIT: The game recently got a major update. There are now 8 regular stages + 7 "Dr. Wily stages". Furthermore, you can now select which stage you'd like to play next, like in a Mega Man game (if other reviews say something else, then they're referring to the old version of the game, when stages used to appear in a consecutive order). Each of the first 8 bosses now also drops a power upon defeat, which you can then purchase in the lobby and use in future levels.

I also really loved the chiptune background music, so much that I even bought the DLC, which contains a remastered version of all the tracks in the game – very neat.

As for replay value, the game has speedrun leaderboards for the main game and the boss rush modes.

So if you decide to get this game, one final warning: Watch out for Pedobear hiding in crates.
