I get to black face and secretly record women.
Game was repetitive and boring and the jokes were lacking in this game. Would recommend for fans of the series. Graphics and movement are improved.
No traps, no deaths. This is perhaps the best Larry game I've played in the series, and the ending is just spectacular. A lot of fun following Larry (and sometimes Patti) along on a journey through four U.S. cities and seeing the shenanigans Larry gets into in each place.
Puzzles felt logical, and no item-environment combo felt far fetched. Would recommend for any fan of humorous Point N Click adventures. Sierra had a real gem with this one.
5th game of the series (where did the 4th disappear?) and switch to nice vga graphics and new engine. Has some catchy tunes in the soundtrack that i liked. No more typing text commands, you can switch to different icons to look, use etc. different things in game. They gave up with punishing design and thankfully you can't die in this at all unlike every other minute in previous entries. You have different chapters playing either as Larry or Patti. Parts of it were bit tedious like having to go through airport and calling payphone so many times. Fun experience and main characters finally reconnecting was a sweet moment. Recommended for fans of adventure games.

Leisure Suit Larry 5 is the 4th game (yes, you read that right) in the LSL series but the first one that's a true Point & Click Adventure game. Though the events of the game do occur after LSL3, there is a gap which the game refers to in game as a sort amnesia and references Leisure Suit Larry 4: The Case of the Missing Floppies. The game doesn't actually exist and what happened in it has never been resolved. So while LSL 3 left us with Patti and Larry happily together, LSL5 has Larry remembering Patti mostly in dreams. He starts out unsure if she is real or a dream and becomes certain she was real. This gives the characters some freedom to explore other sexual partners in the game, but is a little unsatisfying story-wise since nobody knows what happened. Following the lead of LSL3 the game is played as both Larry and Patti. You alternate play between the two so in one segment you play Larry and then the next segment is played as Patti. This continues till finally you meet each other at the end of the game.
The gameplay on LSL5 is quite a bit different from the previous games because it is no-longer a text parser. Instead we're given a classic Sierra point & click UI. This includes the walk, look, touch, talk icons as well as a zipper icon for sexual interactions. You no longer need to type "look at woman" then "talk to woman" but the format is still the same that you need to use the eye icon then the talk icon. You can cycle through them quickly with a right-click or hover over the top of the screen to select the desired icon from the menu.
Gameplay isn't the only change LSL5 had though. The graphics of LSL5 are where the series also takes a big turn. In LSL1-3, Larry is a fairly average sized man with mediocre looks. The graphics are meant to look realistic... well, as realistic as one can look in 8 bit graphics. LSL5 takes a dramatic twist rendering Larry as an extremely short cartoonish character with a large bulbous head. This look becomes the iconic Larry look for the rest of the series. It's only in the new Larry Series from 2018 on that he starts to take on a slightly more normal appearance again. Most of the women in the game look semi-realistic with the exception of some having unrealistically large bosoms. However, most men in this game, not just Larry, end up being very cartoonish. The styles that the sprites vs cut-scenes vs dialogue box animations are not made in a consistent style either and look like they were all done by completely different artists in 3 different art styles. While it's an odd mix it manages to somehow not feel like playing dramatically different games from one part to the next.
While many things have been streamlined and made simpler in this game, it isn't by any means the easiest game to play. While Larry no longer has to survive numerous deaths, the game can be soft locked in several places. If you didn't grab everything you needed or write down important numbers (seriously, keep a notepad handy) you can put yourself in a situation you can't progress from. There is no going back and since you alternate playing part of the story as Larry and part as Patti you might play through both parts and then realize you didn't do what you needed 2 parts earlier. You'll have to return to a much older save game and replay both of those parts. You want to make sure you try to grab everything you can whenever it's available including a few items from the plane/cab scenes. While that can be frustrating , one of LSL5's better points is that there is considerably less moon logic. If you look at everything, interact with objects and read the dialogue boxes you're going to figure out what you should do with relative ease. It's mostly straightforward with logical objectives and interactions.
While plenty of sex scenes occur in this game most of it occurs off screen. You see far less of the actual acts and pretty much no nudity in this game which is different to the previous games, but they humor the series is known for is still there.
While LSL5 has some oddities, it's a thoroughly enjoyable game to play. The addition of a skip button to pass long cut-scenes is nice especially if you soft lock and have to repeat scenes multiple times. If you don't make too many soft lock mistakes the game probably plays though in 3-4 hours, if you make a lot of those mistakes, like I did, you're looking at closer to 8 hours. The best way to purchase this game is to buy the Retro Bundle especially if you watch for a sale. The bundle frequently drops below $15.

Old Skool Adventure Game - Funny Story like always with Larry! This story goes deeper than previously in the storyline i would say. And i love it all! This is another Must Play (Several times) imo.
This one was my favorite out of the series. It have full mouse integration . No more typing commands. The story-line is funny and pulls you in from start to end. If you like puzzle / point and click games, you should enjoy this one.

Leisure Suit Larry's next outing (the fourth, actually -- but Al Lowe doesn't believe in "4-play") finds our hero starting his typical workday for the local 'Porn Prod Corp'. His workplace, though, is secretly a front for the Mob -- and Larry is put on a talent scouting assignment, trying to get lucky on the side.

A ScummVM port like the rest, the game's golden and easily accessible, but with the same slight cropping.
Text-Only VGA graphics continue the style set up in the 'Land of the Lounge Lizards' VGA version -- and are still cheeky and fun.

LSL5 is a mess. I think they tried to mix the best of LSL2 and LSL3 into a crazy spy parody with classic Larry elements and Al Lowe humor, but they failed on all accounts. Larry just travels from place to place and performs repetative tasks with barely-fleshed out girls. Patti has been given all plot-driving elements, but she never feels like a Larry character so the humor just falls flat.
It is unfortunate that the game was never voiced, but atleast the cartoony graphics looks good, and the game does sport a good soundtrack. The main problem with LSL5 is that is boring, I felt bored a few scenes into the intro and the game never managed to rekindle my interest. Recommended only for fans who has played every other game in the series and still wants more.
