Controls are clunky (you can't even direct the horse without clicking) and the play area is super small without any of the DLC packs. :C
This game is just a port of a free mobile game.
go ahead and search its name on any app store and its right there for free. do not waste your money on this when you don't even get anything out of it. as much as it appears to be a big open world for rp and playing with your horses its not. you only get one room without a DLC and its very small. the entirety of the game is just a jumping race, and hide and seek. that's it, there's nothing else to do but race and play hide and seek with horse shoes and other objects.
don't bother buying for the sake of easier controls either because it doesn't have any, its still tap to move around and interact with things despite being a pc port. also to be noted how a bunch of mobile features like the free gift, account connecting and other things are just plain broken.
I love this game! It's my favorite by far! Great community ♥
kind of just a click farmer. not much to the game, i can see the appeal to roleplayers but in my 4 hours of gaming ive already encountered some creeps so not really kid friendly. have to grind for ages to unlock different colors/types of horses, and randomly unlock accessories that you cant sell or even trade between different horses, so all the ugly ones just sit there uselessly. and then you have nothing to do with your horses other than roleplay in chat and do the bugged unfair races that spawn obstacles too close together. cute time waster but not worth £7, it has the quality of a free mobile game.

This game is awesome I love it. I have a pegasus unicorn and a pegasus foal.
The PC/Steam version of this has long been abandoned at this point while the far more popular mobile editions see constant updates, so I only suggest buying this and its DLC when it goes on steep discount. Note here the developers attaching "My Dream Ranch" to the title is fairly misleading as aside from having a virtual stable of lined up stalls to store your horses in there is no ranch.
This is fairly kid-friendly, but to any parents considering buying it for their little ones I strongly suggest Mom or Dad be watching while they play. Public server instances (the default setting for the main area is Online, this can be changed in the Settings) have functional chat that can get weird late at night and there's no report functionality for the creeps. Most of what you'll run into are kids roleplaying being horses from cartoons, but every now and then the odd ones show up.
If you're looking at value for money, getting into HP with the intent to max level all of the horses included in the base version would likely take you around 25 hours. There are some in-game achievements in the fashion of a story mode which can be repeated for every horse. Zero tech issues in this revamped edition apart from chat refusing to accept some common keyboard characters and portions of the HUD disappearing upon entering the DLC map areas if you buy those.

I really want to like this game and grind up all the horses and levels and things, but you really just hit a wall and it becomes impossible.
As you level up you get less and less from racing to the point where you can't even make a profit. Then your only option becomes free runs but those take much longer, and the game will generate jump patterns which are impossible to make. Plus there are no iframes when you hit something, so you can end up losing 2 lives before getting control of your horse again.
I know it's silly to want to tryhard this game, but it's also silly that you can't really get beyond lv 21 when there is more content after that.
Fun little game. You find yourself wanting that horse and realise you need to be around level 28 for it. There is no pay to win (that I can see) and the game doesnt make you feel like you want to pay for things. Its quite easy to farm/grind out the money and such. I use this game as a little time killer. It would be cool for more open flat lands, and maybe some more horses, always more horses :D Also there is online racing to race other people horses and its fun to see if you can destroy them or lose.

I like the game because I get run around as a horse and I have never seen a game like this one, I also get to dress up my horse like a popstar! can not wait for new features.
Key to note: the "online world" is instanced to 12 players but the races pull from multiple instances so the queues are always working. The game runs comparable to many app/Facebook style games, easy to learn and casual. The background music is ambiotic and peaceful, very relaxing and enjoyable. The horse customizations are cute. Racing is interesting, wouldn't say it's my favorite nor least favorite activity. So far, the game is enjoyable and would recommend, but not perfect. I would like to see more of Foxie's games available on Steam. I will update this review as I learn/play more :) Thanks for reading and have a wonderful holiday season!
