This is a Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game, meaning a specific genre of story-driven, point & click adventures. Throughout the game, players are tasked to find a list of objects hidden within a particular scene, and to occasionally complete various mini-games/puzzles.

getting high and playing these types of games is a new christmas tradition.
Smashing game. Ideal to play either by yourself or with others.
This was my second game in the Christmas Stories series. It took me 7 hours to play the main game & the bonus content. I really enjoyed both - they flowed well, a nice level of difficulty & the illustrations were really charming. The bonus story especially made me smile. I got the game on sale and feel like I got more than my money's worth.
Elephant Game's sequel to Christmas Stories deviates quite a bit from Charles Dickens's story to the point it feels like an alternate timeline. This is especially true if you play the collector’s edition. Yet it would be wrong to say the game is a failure. Its intentions to change the story show the developers putting effort into making something new while trying to make it still feel like the Dickens story. In other words, it retains enough of A Christmas Carol but isn’t afraid to change things. The fact the developers have created an adaptation that still somewhat no pun intended keeps the ‘spirit’ of the Dickens story is frankly a Christmas miracle. God bless everyone!

Christmas Stories is an incredible series of games. Most of the scenes look great. They all look interesting. There are so many twists and turns and animated characters in the games. I was expecting this game to be rather dull. I thought I would be looking at flat, boring scenes similar to what's on a Christmas postcard before I started playing. This game is about the life of Ebenezer Scrooge. It is a story about what his life could have been like. There is a bad Scrooge and a good Scrooge. The good Scrooge helps you along the way. The bad Scrooge tries to ruin your plans. It's a completely different way of telling the Christmas Carol story. I've played this game for about four hours. It feels like I've been playing much longer than that. I spent a lot of time solving some of the puzzles. This is a game that I want to keep playing because I don't know what will happen to Ebenezer Scrooge. My only complaint is with the sound in the game. Sometimes all the music and ambient sounds will stop. There is nothing but complete silence until I move to different area of the game. I still recommend all these Christmas Stories games. It's obvious that a lot of work went into creating them. The puzzles are complex and take time to solve. I couldn't solve a few of them. They didn't look similar to puzzles I had seen in other games.
I played this last year (2023) and really enjoyed it! It was my first game of this type and I loved the cheesy art and the puzzles and hidden objects. I remembering needing a hint every now and then, regarding what to do next or rarely also at a puzzle.
Idk if it was just because it was my first Christmas Stories game (I do like puzzle games in general) but I found this more challenging than "Enchanted Express". In a good way. "A Christmas Carol", albeit older, seems to be longer and have more variety in its puzzles. Overall more enjoyable. I wonder how it compares to more of the Christmas Stories series, I will definitely try another one.
P.S.: the 3D cats of the bonus quest are weirdly creepy lol and kinda ugly to be honest, but it's still fun for the puzzles.

This was a really fun game to play! The mini games are really creative and there's a huge variety of them to enjoy. The HOPs are all beautiful and fun to play. The story is fantastic - the classic Christmas Carol with Scrooge - and ties together well with what you do throughout the game. The bonus game is a lot of fun too! I highly recommend this one. :)
You're certainly getting value for money with this one. it's quite long, without frustration for the most part, and a nice story. the only complaint i have is... you guys know you don't have to cut a rope every time right? knots can be undone! i promise!
