In Influence, you will lead a civilization and be responsible for its expansion into the galaxy. But there is no point in resorting to violence because the best weapon is the influence of your culture.
Propagating the culture
Extend your power by recruiting the most famed men and women of your civilization and send them on missions across the galaxy. Your artists will transcend the beauty of your civilization. Impose your religion: send your priests to spread the one true faith, yours. Your scholars will be an ideal tool to show the rest of the world the knowledge your people hold. Once your traders are on location, buy everything, planet after planet.
Erect to impose
Keep conquered systems under control by building grand buildings that reflect your civilization. The Citadel of the Arts, the Manufacture, the Astroport or the Monolith will be welcome havens for your emissaries. Building the Crypt will protect you from outside influences. The Embassy will bring you prestige. And finally, why not dare to build a Dome to defend your faith or a Holotheque to preserve your knowledge.
No glory without prestige
Accumulate prestige and give your empire the opportunity to accomplish great things. Plan the assassination of an opposing emissary, raise funds to support your expansion or trigger a coup to turn the situation around.
Sector by sector
Your accomplishments will happen progressively over the course of various planned missions. Many enemies will get in your way and you will have to use various strategies to get out of tricky situations. Sector after sector, take control of the galaxy.
Campaigning for victory
After earning your stripes as a general of the great Imperial Order, play other characters and factions. Step into the shoes of a great dignitary of the Church of Cardan seeking to emancipate himself from the imperial yoke. Use your technological know-how within the very erudite Province of Aphera. As you wander, you will face the Kovahkarh Swarm, the rich Seldarin League, the Neo Humanist dissidents or the fanatics of the Magotic Cult.

I have the game for a long time, forget about it and come back. it's easy, it's quick you can play 1 game of 5 min and quit again or play level after level. I play it during work breaks and it's a good challenge with feeling of satisfaction once you beat a hard level. recommended for the low price. (1 euro per hour = easy!)
“Really unique mix of abstract realtime strategy and a puzzle game.”
At the lower difficulty levels, Asylamba: Influence just isn't very compelling or rewarding.
At the higher difficulty levels, it simply isn't skill-based. It needs re-balancing to be a well-built game whose design fulfills its aims. Sadly, there appears to be no one reading the Forums and no other method for providing feedback to the Devs.
This game is almost unparseably sterile, and I admire it as a minimalistic construct in worldbuilding. It is playing its setting to the abstract limit. The developers code-golfed their worldbuilding. If there was less worldbuilding, it would not have any, and at such a small gap the game might still be unrecognizable for the loss of it.
Having thus remarked upon an achievement in story construction, I wish I could say the same about the game's sense of narrative. It is still kept minimal, but I think it might be too minimal. I am not sure it is a qualifying construct in narrative, because I am not sure that stories can be made for this flow of gameplay. Still, this might be an interesting rather than disappointing uncertainty. Can you imagine stories for a flow of ambassadors and symbolic central structures, in a story of the vaguest description between competing planets?
I like this game but the framerate is horrible. This is running in a GTX 1060 with an i5 3570 and there's noticeable lag in the second campaign. I've updated my CPU to something more modern (AMD R5 3600) but take note!
It's okay. It's just a reskinned SPACECOM with military terms replaced with cultural/diplomatic ones.
Nice strategy game, terrible music except the main menu (I had to mute it).
I hope music folder can be made accessible, so I can replace the tracks with something relaxing instead of being forced to listen some noise that disturbs my peace when playing this nice game. There is a terrible music playing in Skirmish or Campaign levels that is like made of noise instead of tunes. I don't remember if I had to mute music in any game completely in the last 20 years.
Gameplay is requiring you to make quick decisions, and handle both economy and invasion at the same time. In the game, we have to do planetary Invasions by expanding from one planet to another.
That's interesting that the invasions are rebranded with nice, peaceful words which we have to occupy planets via sending Artist, Priest, Scholar, Merchant. If a planet's faith is weak, you can occupy the planet by sending a priest, if a planet's culture is weak, you should send an artist, etc. which sending the right envoy (or invasion fleet) gives stronger influence than other envoy types, so that can impact amount of envoys needed to be sent to occupy that planet (less envoy means less costly occupation).
Also there are various different buildings you can build in a planet but you can build one building max. in every planet, which this affects your strategy to victory tremendously.
Therefore, this is a little, nice strategy game with lots of elements to think to conquer space against capable AI. I highly recommend, but I really disliked its music, although I respect others who liked it.
Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 2/10
Music: 0/10
This is a nice little strategy game for times when you can't get involved in a long campaign. The interface and graphics are streamlined and clean. Definitely worth the price, especially on sale.
This is a great little puzzle strategy game. However, it runs painfully slow. If you can handle that, then do get it.
Achievements are bugged making them tedious to unlock. I beat it on the hardest difficulty but still have to go back and do it on a lower difficulty. FML.
Entertaining for a short while, at discount price. While thematically non-violent, the mechanics could just have easily have been for a simple wargame. The four different classes of influence also all appear to be mechanically identical. As a result of these factors it ends up a bit disappointing, despite an intriguing theme. Soundtrack is pretty good.
Interesting strategic game, enough content for the price.
Agreeable for short playing sessions, with different difficulties suitable for harsher games.
A single-player strategy/puzzle game with a space opera background. The interface is intuitive and a pleasure to use, and the price point is reasonable. Several levels of difficulty promise replayability. I recommend reducing the difficulty while unfamiliar with the mechanics.
If you like puzzle and space colonization games, it s definitely a no brainer, it mixes the two genres like nothing i ever seen before ... The price is very appealing, so if you are curious about it you should give it a try... But i must warn you that it gets tough and you may find yourself screaming in frustration
Review in a) german and b) english at release (Mai/may 2018):
a) german
Pro:
- stimmiges Design
b) english:
pro:
- good design
- the grade of difficult is good - some level are a good challenge
- the strategies and levels are not repitive, so you have some alternation
- the concept works, game makes fun (so far)
contra:
- some bugs in moment: steam-awards doesnt works, language translation into german language doesnt work in all texts, tutorial finished at me without end-screen
- tutorial is too long
- save in cloud is not possible
result:
The concept and design works well. Its a good, small game for strategy-players. If the game does not cost more than 8 € ( = 1249 northcorean Won : ) it is a good price for a game and strategy fans should buy it.
Very nice little real time strategy game with a polished design and interesting mechanics. You sometimes have to restart a mission several times until you figure out the best path to success, but the game is enjoyable enough that it never gets frustrating. Very addictive, would recommend. :)
Although the tutorial is a bit long, it explains all the mechanics and gives clues about the different strategies to adopt in future missions.
Otherwise, I like this addictive side that forces us to redo again and again missions after losing lamentably against the AI. I have several times shouted against my screen when she took me hostage. I hate it I hate it I haaaate it! But at the end, I AM THE WINNER!
Last point, the design: I'm more than a fan! Well done!
The price is more than correct for the content provided. The images when launching a mission or mission choices are absolutely beautiful.
I enjoyed discovering this space world where the expansion of culture is the way to rule the universe. Thanks for this game!
What I can say so far is that the way you get to influence remind me a lot of Asiimov's Foundation story. You are provided many different possibilities (which I won't spoil here) to create a network of stars. Graphics are great, wallpapers are wonderful and worth the price. The music is sometimes a bit boring but that's just a detail that may be changed in an update (I hope).
All in all the price is totally worth the game. The quality is very good, and the strategic aspect is quite original also.
Very good game with an original gameplay and gorgeous design!
The mechanics of the game seems quite complex at first but the tutorial does its job by introducing them step by step.
After a few hours of playing I must say I'm getting quite addicted. For a 6$ game, I'm stunned by the neat design!
