Disappointing reveal. Shorter than expected.
I won't watch it again and it's not something I'll show people. I don't see how I can recommend it. I'm going to refund it as credit and put the two bucks towards something else. Sorry.
Cute experience. It seems to make me face the wrong direction so I have to keep turning to see the action, though.
Wonderful Story and so much fun. I really like the dog also. This is great for Children and Adults too. It is a Feel good VR Adventure. Thank you
+Beautiful little story
+Whimsical
+Merry
+Not too expensive for short movie
-It's only a short movie with nothing you can interact with.
3/5
Great short little film, though would be better if there was some interaction, For 2 bucks I'd definitely give it some love.
Extremely short (about 12 minutes) and very lame story where nothing really happens. It should be free for what it is. DO NOT BUY!
Excellent little short film for VR. This is the future of animation films. At the moment with 80 percent discount for 39 cents. Absolutely must have.
Check out my video review (spoiler free - trailer and comments)

It's a good animation, really spot on with the details, and also cheap. Recommended to showcase
Wonderfull VR movie. Nothing interactive, except where you look, but that doesn't lessen the production value, or the really touching story.
To those who complain about the price tag (got it for 1.39 on sales, it's 1.99 normally at the time of this review) I can only say "you have no clue". Fromwriting the story, over modelling, lighting (big part in this one), and animation it's a lot of work.
It`s not a game, because you don`t control a thing.
It`s not a story, because there is none.
It`s an experience. But a really, really short one.
This would be worth 50 cents of an Euro, just to use it as a demo. At full price, DON`T buy it.
PS. If you own Oculus like me you will struggle to start the thing. It is doable though, it just takes a lot of clicking and twisting the touch controlers
this game doesnt seem to do anything more of a movie with no sound thn a game no interaction SUCKS
although it is very short it has a very interesting story, good environment visuals and sountrack, definitely looking forward for more of this kind of storytelling games
Even for it's low price... (I even got 20% off, and ended up paying only 1.59€)... I can't really recommend it.
It's a short film... like there are plenty of for free. I knew this, but this one having a price tag let me think: "Ok, this must be really good!"
However it is not.
- The animations are good.
- There's some cute element.
- But the graphics are just semi ok... It's really only 3-4 simple scenes that are being reused. The textures could be way better.
- The story is short and could be told in one sentence.
[*]The story is not interesting. With the title and the "dream concept" I expected more than a extremely simple christmas story, that hardly goes anywhere.
im still tripping out that people gave this a positive.
you sit there watching a man that collects what people throw away. he repairs it. then turns into santa and returns all the presents back during christmas. most worthless vr so called game ive come across............................................................
Fantastic storytelling. Maybe a bit cheesy :) Best transitions/cuts I've seen in a VR film to date. Try it!
I adore this short film -- it perfectly demonstrates the immense potential of VR as a storytelling medium. Honestly, I wish it were a full two hours. I think I watched the entire thing with my mouth open, gazing at all the clever, beautiful ways that the story was told. I showed this to everyone in my family, one by one, after watching it myself, and each one of them was mesmerized by it. Even my dad, who has severe mobility issues and can't do most VR experiences, was able to sit in a chair and watch, and he loved it. I can't wait for more films to be released that use this sort of immersive, "placing the viewer INSIDE the story" kind of format. The ability to move around and view the action from multiple angles was breathtaking.
Heartwarming. Buy and watch before christmas.
Recommended!!

technical flaws:
Somehow went into reprojection even on my GTX1080ti,2Ghz @ SS1.0x especially when lightsources have been added to the scene. But you shouldn't notice much/anything of it while the movie plays. However the animations will not look as smooth. Initially I had reprojection disabled so I could see the warning FPS drop message.
It's weird we get reprojection at such level of graphics fidelity (comic).
loved it thankyou very much
need more of this as not everyone wants to play games in VR all the time
price point is nice right now too

The opening scene of The Dream Collector shows a young man with an electric guitar, on a bridge. He plays a note, hugs it, and then chucks it over the concrete into oblivion. The next moment, his clothes are changed to business attire, complete with tie. This opening sequence resonated strongly with me, as I'm sure it will many, regardless if you had dreams of being a musician or not; the item is merely symbolic.
As you may have guessed by now, The Dream Collector is a short animated story about a magical man, his dog, and his ability to find, fix-up, and recycle discarded dreams. Whether they be broken guitars, deflated soccer balls, busted baseball mitts, you name it and the man can fix it with the help of some magic. The scenes follow him throughout the seasons, as he collects, fixes, and sends these items to an unknown location. All is revealed in a surprise ending that's definitely worth sticking around for.
Even though this title is only 12 minutes long, the graphics, characters, environments, soundtrack, and unnarrated story are all well thought out, strong, and extremely enjoyable for people of all ages. The attention to detail in each setting is commendable, and the interactive film is complete with rain, snow, and sun effects; it almost feels like it could be a Pixar movie. The regular price of $2.29 CAD is suiting for The Dream Collector, and if you manage to grab it on sale it's an even better deal. It's a great seasonal title, and would be worth a yearly watch and also to show off to family and friends around the holidays.
Rating: 4.0/5.0 - Excellent, highly worth playing.

Very cute, nice Christmas story. About 12 minutes length. Animations are well done for the most part. No dialogue. But the message is conveyed well. Not exactly Pixar, but this Pinta Studios has talent.
I played this on the Oculus Rift with Touch controller and it worked fine, except starting the thing was harder than it had to be.
Rating 7/10.
$1.39 sale price is a decent recommendation. A 10 min short story for the price of a candy bar. Not bad. There's no dialog but it doesn't need one. The story is easy to follow and has a touching ending.
