Although being created with electronic music in mind, it works well with many genres from Jam to Hip hop. You can adjust the BPM easily in-game at any time by glancing at your wrist to customize the visuals from the grooviest slow jams, to the fastest drum & bass beats. Soundscape allows you to curate the visuals and easily control the pattern, color, strobe, rotation, speed, and scale of lights along with other special bonus effects. You'll also control various fireworks, glowsticks, trails of neon light, showers of sparks, and massive columns of flame. Watch the particles ricochet around the environment as gravity warps to different levels and your cosmic environment shifts from one galaxy to the next.
The launch of Soundscape is only the beginning of what's to come. Soundscape is being designed as a new platform for music experiences across the globe and as the intergalactic VR music festival of tomorrow. Ever had a new song you were addicted to and couldn't wait to share with friends? Coming soon you can connect with them directly and listen to any song simultaneously - together, all while dancing in VR, chatting, and creating incredible visuals for one another. Or just create and DJ your own virtual party to find strangers who love the same artists as you do.
Soundscape can be enjoyed sitting, standing, or even lying on your back. Teleportation movement allows you to pick your ideal vantage point anywhere in-game. You can swap between different modes of play easily. Choose to chill out and let the program do all the work creating the visuals automatically, then take complete control again at any time whenever you're ready! Soundscape strips away all the inconveniences of the modern music experience - waiting in line, aggressive security, expensive drinks, poor visibility and audio equipment - and puts the power in your hands instead.
Soundscape is a cutting-edge virtual reality visual experience, choose your graphics options wisely in-game. Similar to Crysis when it was released in 2007, GPU hardware does simply not yet exist to drive Soundscape to its maximum potential. Even a 1080ti will not be able to supersample significantly due to the extreme nature of the layers of visuals and the variability of how each person chooses to play the game.

Great visual experience that you control in harmony with the music of your choice and set the lighting tempo so the visual feast works with any type of music.... Would be awesome if you could somehow save and playback what you have created and just experience it again and hone it in so the visualisation is perfect for the song of your choice. Wishing aside if you enjoy mind bending visuals set in a dome shaped club with an amazing backdrop of the cosmos where you can control a vast array of lighting effects to the music or you can just kick back and let it auto to the beat this is head and shoulders above other music visualisers ive tried in VR and well worth picking up
Let's put it this way: If you like to get high you're going to love this game. If you don't, then you might just be one of those people who doesn't get it.
I understand why people are complaining about this game. It's far from perfect. That being said, if you walk away from the experience dissapointed, you are probably an unimaginative person. I wasn't sober when I played this, but I found it to be the Goat Simulator of rhythm games. Unlike all other rhythm games, Soundscape isn't about what the developer's world can do with you, it's about what you can do with the developer's world. It is definitely lacking in features, but its clear to see that the developer is taking suggestions into serious consideration, and I've got the impression that the developer takes this game very seriously, so I think we can only expect improvements, at this point. One thing I would like to see in the future is the ability to play your music through Soundscape without starting playback independently of the application. You can play YT videos within Soundscape, but I think anyone who takes music seriously doesn't use YT videos as their source of music. Anyway, I had an existential moment with this game, so I've developed a bit of a bias, but I recommend giving it a try. Interacting with rhythms can be pretty fun when you're the one creating the interactions.
Here's the 30 minute playlist I made for my Soundscape experience:

- "ur phone" by boy pablo
- "My Jinji" by Sunset Rollercoaster
- "sunday morning idea" by salami rose joe louis
- "everytime" by boy pablo

Bad design choice for those that want to just turn it on and enjoy the visual/audio experience, The program does not sync to the music you play. Perhaps he will add it later but until then I'll stay with virtual Desktop's implementation of milkdrop. Playing around with the controllers is cute but soon gets wearisome. I just want to lose myself in the music and visuals. I'm still looking for something as beautiful as the Electric Sheep screensave with audio sync. So far it just isn't available.
Refunded. Could be great but without any reaction to the beat of your music this feels completely disconnected. Hopefully the dev will add music reaction, without it this falls flat.
Saw this mentioned on Reddit so thought I'd try it out. After buying I then read a couple of reviews saying it didn't change the visuals automatically with the music, and it wasn't as advertised. I thought I'd give it a quick try and then maybe get a refund.
I really love it! You can generate your own great visuals to the beat. It's definately one I'll use to show off my Rift to my space head friends. Best bit is shooting firework rockets across the floor and watching them ricochet upwards then explode. Youtube integration is great but can't work out how to play local files yet.
Very clever programming for sure.
It calls itself a music visualiser, but it doesn't react to the music. Instead you are expected to press/hold all kinds of arcane buttons to get something intereresting to happen.
Dev isn't interested in feedback, he obviously thinks it is faultless.
Negative review as description is misleading. Getting a refund.
Did not like it at all. This was not at all what I thought it would be. I thought it would be auto generated cool vr visuals that would change to the beat of your music and you can change it up by pressing a button. Instead the visuals did not change to the beat of my music, I had to manually press and or hold a button to the beat of the music to change the visuals. I guess if you don’t mind pressing buttons to the beat to make it look cool it’s not bad but if your looking for something cool to relax and space out on music visuals, this is not it.
Soundscape is the first program I have tried that immersed me in the electronic music experience the same way as I would be in real life. I have been going to Music Festivals all over the world for a long time now and always thought VR would be a great fit for those kinds of otherworldly visuals. For the longest time I continued to use 2d programs like Milkdrop or Electric sheep because I wanted to listen to the music I love, but after trying Soundscape I think I may have finally found a replacement for those. I love that I have control over the timing of the visuals, it makes the experience so much more immersive to me than any other visualizer could be. The small details really add up to make the experience what it is.
I have my home audio setup through Google home / chromecasts and being able to control the choice of song with my voice is a perfect complement to the limitations of VR input. I’m running on only a GTX 970 and get better performance than I expected, there is a LOT going on with different visuals going on at a multitude of ranges from within your hands to the furthest reaches of space.
If you love music or surreal visuals this program is a must-buy and is an absolute bargain at the current price. It is clear that this kind of experience is going to be a focal point of VR in the future and I am curious to see how the music industry evolves alongside these kind of tools. One thing is for certain, it’s never been a better time to be a lover of music than it is now.
