PERFECT except the bleak falls duengon is A bit hard but i would recmend to beat bleak falls is to enable god mode click on this to type it ` and type tgm to enable it
By thye time your character is finally powerful enough to get fun to play the quests are all but gone and the game all but over. Could really benefit from faster perk accumulation.
Arguably the greatest game of all time for how long it has remained relevant. You can unironically still get this game and have genuine fun even in 2025 which frankly says a lot more about how bad current games are and how ahead of its time Skyrim was. Biggest downside is its heavy reliance on mods to stay fun and relevant.
I gotta be honest, I have owned this game for years and I have never been able to get it to work right. I shouldn't have to fight with mods, ini files, and what seems to be a useless remaster to enjoy the game on its default settings. Forget the refresh rate issue, the bugs in the first hour of the game are just fucked
Never thought, I would complete Skyrim and yet here I am. It's just a 10/10 , not much is needed to be said, the game , gameplay, mechanics, characters, the world of Skyrim itself is just amazing. The game is perfect , it's really easy to get hooked on it, if you never tried it, I recommend it 100% (Do the Special Edition doe) 100/10
For me, Skyrim was never just about saving the world from Alduin. It was about getting lost, again and again, in one of the most beautiful open worlds gaming had ever seen.
Every time I started a new game, I told myself, "This time, I'm going to stay focused on the main quest." And every time, within minutes of stepping out of Helgen, I would find myself wandering off the path. A strange ruin on a hill, a flickering cave entrance, a distant mountain peak calling to me — there was always something just a little more interesting than my supposed destiny. I wasn’t Dragonborn; I was a professional side-quester, a full-time wanderer of Skyrim’s endless wonders.
This cycle repeated for years. I played Skyrim on PC, on console, with mods, without mods. Each time, the story of Alduin waited patiently, untouched, while I chased butterflies, cleared forgotten tombs, or spent hours just watching the northern lights dance across the sky.
It wasn't until 2022, 11 years after the game's original release, that I finally did it. I stayed (mostly) on track, fought my way through Sovngarde, and stood victorious over Alduin. It felt surreal, like finishing a chapter of my gaming life that had been open for over a decade. Skyrim had been my escape, my adventure, my second home for so long, it almost felt wrong to see its main story finally come to an end.
But that’s the magic of Skyrim. It’s not just a game you play;
it’s a world you live in, one slow journey at a time.
This is the best video game ever if you don't like video games.
Like I'm being so serious. If you grew up playing sport and car sims you probably think this is a master class with a living world and deep narrative experience. But like, put a couple dozen hours into literally anything else in the genre (even Oblivion LOL) and you'll understand that this is a boring shallow theme park with terrible combat, terrible dialogue, terrible story, terrible quests, pretty good graphics, and pretty good dungeon design.
Now I played it 5 times. The last time was with visual mods. I would really recommand to play it with some mods it really improves the immersion.
The story wasn't that fun. I liked to grind through the caves and dungeons, explore the world and play it with some made up rules. Like not using "fast travel". This makes it much more immersive. you really explore the world in the right manner and think more about your actions. Without fast travel you finish the local tasks and you don't end up playing a HUD clicking simulator.
Some mechanics are op but who cares
A ton of fun.
Best single-player game ever. Play it if you are sick at home or sumth.
Either fix the opening cut-scene so you can actually start a new game, OR give us a discount on the remastered version. $40 for a 15 year old game is outrageous.
TODD YOU HOWARD-COWARD!!!
On widescreen this is glitching so bad that it's unplayable.
I wish I could erase playing this game from my memory... and play it again anew. One of the best games ever made.
Best game from the elder scrolls, i have it for every console.
Game-breaking stutter issue for some reason made the game almost unplayable on my new PC. The special edition had no such issues. I would recommend that game wholeheartedly.
Great game. I've probably spent over 1000 hours between computer and xbox... that's maybe too many hours.
this might be the best game to ever exist and is a timeless classic that will forever hold a spot in my heart
This is a highly immersive and engaging game that lures the player into this ancient world. there are many hours of game play, and the story line is superb. The open world is vast, many factions to choose from, and depending on your style or chose character type, the story changes as you play and choose different characters. This game has a great following, and is very mod capable. various mods add additional locations and game play. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have, and I would highly recommend this to anyone, and everyone.
Skyrim is a great GAME.
Modded Skyrim is a World you could consider living in.
I am living in it almost every day.
Awesome game, but only with mods, I don't recommend it without in 2025 (the mods fix everything in the game, the bugs the dated graphics, etc and feels like a 2025 title, 4k textures, etc)
6/10
This version of Skyrim doesn't turn my PC into a rocket engine unlike AE, there are however quite a lot of things to note if you're going to get this version; The graphics aren't as good as AE's, there's an unfortunate z-clipping glitch with the mountains, you don't get the AE Exclusive content, and it's more expensive than AE in terms of getting the DLC. This can be seen as a lightweight version of Skyrim AE, however you will miss out a considerable amount of content. I give it a 6 since it's not the definitive version of Skyrim, but it's one that can be run better on older PC's, plus this version has some mods that isn't available for AE.
amazing one of my all time favorite games ive been playing since oblivion and absolutely loved skyrim
It was great, for a while. Then it started crashing everytime. As you progress, you notice the Bethesda treatment ever-so-often. Unless you can handle the constant crashing, bugs, and glitches. This games not for you.
Paarthurnax is killable but annoying children aren't.
Also, Serana isn't romanceable.
Literally unplayable.
Hours of free discovery, with a map and neat things that can be found on every location, assuming you can withstand the enemies responce. Then mod the game
Skyrim is one of the games of all time. It has many flaws, but overall goated. Looking forward to 25th release!
Stop going down the path of shareholder maximization. You're literally destroying the reputation and playability of one of the greatest game franchises in human civilization simply because you want to squeeze it for all it's worth. I PROMISE you if you put artistic creativity and making a good standalone game you will make sufficient quantities of money, AND people would LOVE you. Don't destroy bethesda just because you're greedy.
I have spent a lot of time in this game since it released. It's one of my favorites. I love the Elder Scrolls and can not recommend this game enough.
Great game, lots to do with the base game. Where it becomes an absolutely insane game is with the plethora of mods, ranging from simple graphics mods to making this game into an entirely new original game.
Absolutely recommend this game, because you get a great base game but also the ability to turn it into hundreds of different games with mods.
playing for years...Mod Makers changes keeps it interesting and new.... a game you can get lost in..
Game will not run anymore. Adapter not found. Can not uninstall game!
Now I play anniversary edition, but this was my start with skyrim. Id say if u can get this one, go for it. 660 hours , wow , I spent way too long on skyrim. Well worth it.
9-10/10 recommended.
Story yes wow amazing detailed long fun
grafix - dated but wow for the time
crafting - wow AMAZING USEFUL DETAILED
side quests - maybe more fun than main?
why hasnt sequels been made after 14 years? coulda had 2-3 more fun rpg games... they might have made sooo much money and we had sooo much fun!
oh well, who knows what goes on other peoples minds
This game is not like your typical RPG games.
It has more lore, which you need to learn from the NPC's and books within the game.
There is also so much to do and it looks like everything you do can effect the out come of the game.
Its that huge, I have no idea how far into the game, but basied on the fact I'm only level 11 at the writing of this review, I would say that I'm not even 1/2 way there yet.
OMG buy this game what yall doing so fun better then ok well not better then all the games but you will like it even on pc my boy gave me steam famliy sharing [bad grammer btw]
The Elder Scrolls 5, Skyrim has always been one of my favorites. There's a lot of cool stuff in this game.
This game was great at its time and is kept alive by the modding community and the dense lore.
Entertaining, I prefer Morrowind and Oblivion though. Skyrim still is an excellent game, and I look forward to playing a higher level character.
One of the most memed games of all time. It's a deep world with a lot of lore for you to get into. I'm just not particularly engrossed in the world. The game uses a lot of nouns that mean nothing to me and I didn't feel like engaging with the gameplay to dive deeper. Most of the time you'll be fighting the same humanoid enemies with little variation in their fighting style. Everything scales with you so there's not a feeling of power progression, all the enemies have the same sort of difficulty feeling.
You could probably get in, zone out, and enjoy the atmosphere. The game is good about that. But the actual gameplay, I'm not a fan of. Very modable, but you gotta fiddle with the fps settings to not have poltergeists flinging objects every time you or an npc goes through a door.
Bad game. Strips away everything that made the series fun, interesting, and unique in favor of appealing to the lowest common denominator. Magic is a barren wasteland. Every build eventually ends up the same. The world is built around fast travel and isn't fun to explore at all as a result. Every dungeon has the same dumb puzzle that is so simple a glue-guzzling toddler with crayons stuck up their nose could solve it. Not to mention they're filled with the same enemy - Draugr. No variety, no spice of life.
The real damning bad stuff, however, comes with the faction questlines. I have never experienced more underwhelming, poorly written faction quests. You fast track to the top of all of them regardless of if you're even good at what the guild is about. You don't have to be good at thieving and skulduggery to go through the thievs guild, you don't have to be good at assassinations or stealth for the brotherhood, you don't need magic to become the archmage. It all funnels into the developers cowardly desire to make everything playable by one character because they don't want any player to miss any content. Long gone are the days of interesting branching quests and replayability. This game wants you to play the same character forever. It wants you to do every questline regardless of whether or not it makes sense. And none of the guilds can overlap in any interesting ways because of it. It makes the game world feel like an amusement park where you hop ride to ride rather than being an actual consistent character within a consistent world.
The people who made the game defend this as the players making their own stories, however, this is a lie. They don't want us making our own stories. They refuse to let us. Exhibit A: Ulfric Stormcloak being marked as essential and unkillable as he is essential to the quest "Assassinate Ulfric Stormcloak". The game is filled with this railroading garbage because the people behind this game haven't the same skills as the minds behind Morrowind or New Vegas. Your choices are meaningless because they have already decided what your story is. Even choices like Stormcloak or Imperial make no difference on the game. It simply changes the uniform the enemy is wearing. Instead of having an actual interesting storyline for both factions with different missions and objectives they are effectively identical. Because god forbid a player doesn't experience every ounce of content the game has to offer in one playthrough.
In short, the game betrays it's legacy, treats it's world as an amusement park, the faction questlines are not only horrifically written but also don't require you to even be good at what the faction is about, the dungeons are filled with the same tedious enemy a thousand times over and filled with the same baby puzzle in each and every one, and magic has been completely gutted from the game to the point it might as well not be there at all. The developers try to push this as player freedom and choice, yet they seem dead set on streamlining everything so that any character can do any quest, any faction, and no matter which side they choose get the same quests. This completely flies in the face of player freedom and choice since it's ultimately the same no matter what build you choose, what character you make, what sides you choose, etc.
its a great game and gets better with mods
This game is one the best i ve ever played. And the storys, WOW ! I have on both normal and special edition 400 hrs and in the future i will play again from beginning !
I hope i will alive when Elder 6 is coming out.
since the release of Starfiled ( i dont like starships adventure - Movies yes, but to play .....
I think the release of Elder 6 will be in 2035 - 2040 !
At this point if you haven't played Skyrim you should at least try it.
It's the most mainstream game in the franchise, but it's still great.
The game has so much depth. Great stories. So many options in building your character. it is old but I come back to this game often.
This is the original Skyrim for PC. There are so many legacy mods that are available for this version that just never made it into Anniversary edition, but enough time has passed to where there are mods that are available for Anniversary edition and not for this one, AND the Anniversary edition ones are being updated. I'd say look at the lists and decide for yourself which one you would prefer. Tbh, both versions play the same lol. I just keep this one around because Steam has hidden the link to this version despite still supporting it on Steam.
By far, one of the best open-world RPGs out there. If you're looking for a story to immerse yourself in and watch time fly out the window, this is the game. The story is amazing, the music is soothing and nostalgic, and the janky bugs make the experience even funnier.
Easily in my top 5 games I have ever played. It still stands up today. Although, you would be best off using Wabbajack to install a mods package such as Lorerim or gate to Sovnguarde to get the most out of this game today/
Skyrim is a very good game, but it's not a great game. A mile wide but an inch deep.
Love this game and almost everything about it. Now I Steam I have to repurchase it even though I have over 1200 hours logged in it on Steam thanks to Bethesda. Unfortunately I also have the Special Edition Skyrim with many new adventures but just as many glitches. I want to play, but do I want to be locked into a building after completing the adventure or to buy another Skyrim. Confused and unhappy. Would I recommend this game, can't decide. I used to love it.
Skyrim is quite a fun game, and is also moddable, if that's how you like to play it. 100% recommend it to anyone who likes anything fantasy or D&D related. You WILL love this game.
(Around 400 hours, excluding AFK, at time of review.)
This review is for Skyrim, with DawnGuard, DragonBorn and HearthFire DLCs; but NOT Special Edition (which, it is my understanding, disables the huge collection of previous private mods).
Easy 9+ out of 10. Extremely immersive and enjoyable game!
Satisfying exploration and combat in any of the broad areas of melee, ranged, magic, or stealth; and many mixes of these. Lots of surprises around almost every corner of the very large, variegated, and beautiful game world. Quests are quite varied and, except for the relatively few in the main quest line, are all optional. The game can be finished by a normal player in maybe 30 hours; or one can meander their way to the finish in 300.
Extremely open-world game, with an extensive modding community. Many ways to play, which leads to a very high replay value.
This is the only game I know where you can shout a troll off of a mountain. Also, we might be getting GTA 6 before we get The Elder Scrolls 6.
