And again great work.
Oleg pls tell me what can't I just buy the whole soundtrack it is fcing pleasent sooo pleasent.
Fantastic art work again
that music muuuaaahhhh <3
More broken, more repetitive & more dull, compared to the main entry.
Expect getting bored to tears, constantly stuck in geometry and the sponge enemies that sometimes get 4 times as spongy due to some damage multiplier bug.
Nothing stands out about this 'add-on' that adds nothing, and with the dour looking urban / industrial locales and zombie enemies you'd be excused to mistake this game for Slaughtering Grounds or any other generic asset-flip Unity FPS.
Pass!
I played through all the Putrefaction games now. Voidwalker was the best game, and the original one had bad shooting mechanics but was decently atmospheric. I also liked the two bosses the original game had.
Anyways, Rumble in hometown costs 1 dollar. There are only 4 levels in the game and a single bossfight in the end, which I actually quite liked. Is this game worth the 1 dollar? I would say yes, but at the same time, you could use that 1 dollar to save up for another game. I will say if you liked Void Walker, then get this as well. There is nothing I really have to complain about, except for one thing, and that is that this "game" just feels off and makes no sense at all. It is just 4 levels and a bossfight. What is the point of this thing?? Maybe the dev wanted to make another game but grew tired of it in the process? At least from Putrefaction 1 and to Voidwalker, you felt the story continued, and it actually did this really well by carrying on straight after you teleported from the final boss. In this game, it is just some random nonsense. It is strange that this game even exists but oh well it is not bad.
a nice improvement over the first one new enemys weapons and and our badass void walker this is defently a gem of a game i recommend get all 3 putrefaction games

Easily the most inspiring game I have played. The zombies really symbolize natural human savagery and the crumbling societies of today, and the enemy humans that spawn show how deep you can fall into a life of crime, and serve as a reminder to keep your life in check, and to plan your future. If you like games that give a heavy societal commentary and symbolism surrounding modern society then this game is for you.
Great expansion, it was fun, but could've been better.
+ Great soundtrack.
+ Fantastic gore.
+ New enemies.
+ Now features flashlight in dark areas.
- You can easily get stuck or fall through floor in many sections, leading to death.
- Kind of cheap boss battle.
- Abysmal checkpoint system. Most feel so random. Sometimes there is a checkpoint once every battle, often only one checkpoint in between 3 battles or so.
- There are so many glitches, you can easily get out of map. Secondary firearm mode doesn't always work properly.
- You gain upgrades the same pace as in original game, but original was twice as long, so you can barely upgrade anything here. It should have had a much faster upgrade gaining rate to compensate for it's shorter lenght.
- Huge lack of New Game +.
7/10
Eh, it's fine.
This game functions exactly like the main Putrefaction 2, as expected, and it's essentially a map pack.
This DLC has only 4 levels to explore, featuring all the same weapons from the main game, with the big change being the enemies, which aren't that great anyways.
Most of the new enemies are just zombies, which are alright, but they're not as fun to fight compared to the enemies in the main game, since you can kill most of them with just a single shotgun blast, and are in general much easier to deal with.
The levels are mostly city enviroments, and you also have the sewer level (Couldn't have left it out), which is also fine. It mostly uses a mechanic where you step into a platform and that actives the hordes of enemies (with others thrown in your way to these platforms).
Last thing I'd like to mention is that the final boss is total and pure frustration, I easily went through the entire game in the hardest difficulty and I just had to reduce it for that fight 'cause it's just unfair, most attacks kill you in 1 or 2 hits and, on top of that, he's also a bullet sponge.
TL;DR: It's alright, if you liked the main game and want some extra levels it's fine for the price.
A dollar you wouldn't regret. Don't expect to much, but don't suspect to little. This game has some pleasant surprises and the hardest game mode that's still possible. Think Halo or Doom on hardest difficulty. Sacrificed story almost to a fault for mindless violence, yet that's also what fun about it.
+Would like to hear the voice give dialogue, to sexy not to.
+Different texture for gunner bullets (you'll know what I mean)
+Day level bright af. With convenient graphic options like FOV you'd think a brightness bar would've been in the menu.
Better character dialogue ( Not even a story, just commenting on stuff level specific ) one or two texture tweeks and some ray bands (or a gamma bar) would make this an easy 3 dollar game. 4-5 if they throw in an extra level or two. ;)
Putrefaction 2: Rumble In The Hometown
fast game with modern day graphics with easy controls that moves from location A to B to C and so on,
good amount of action and special effects,
good game.
Personal Suggested Purchase Price: $0.49 Or Less During Sale
This guy can't make a balanced game. The overall shooting is quite good except for some ridiculous levels like the warehouse where you are in a confined space and have to fight off dozens of enemies. Also the end boss is idiotic design again. He takes an awful amount of bullets while dealing out instant kill damage. You are in a confined space again and lots of lower enemies spawn which have to be taken care of as well. If that wasn't enough a circling laser appears regularly.
I will give it a thumb up as a support and because it's better than the base game Putrefaction 2. Despite some frustrating attempts the end boss can be defeated if you use the grenade launcher and take attention to the lasers. Still a fps should all about shooting and not running avoidance circles or jumping around like Mario Brothers.
I do not know why there are so many positive reviews for this game, and I honestly think something fishy is going on here.
This game may be very cheap, but if it's not a waste of money, it's a big waste of time. Terrible AI and bullet sponge enemies, atrocious level design, terrible graphics, no juicyness at all, glitchy movement and controls, and full of bugs. That is, of course, when the game even manages to launch without crashing. In one of my PCs, it simply wouldn't launch at all, ever. In the PC I used to play it, I experienced tons of crashes.
I don't know if this is an asset flip, because the assets are so low quality I don't even know if they're being sold, maybe this was all made by this developer. But it sure feels like an asset flip, and a cheap one, at that.
Not worth your money, and for sure not worth your time. The best example of Steam's lack of quality control.
I would have asked for a refund, but I waited too long to try this one out.
Game starts off as a boring and unchallenging zombie shooter (even on the hardest difficulty). After the first checkpoint of the first level, however, the guys with guns turn up and kill you in three hits from a long range [while you have nothing but a peashooter pistol and a shotgun that won't reach them effectively (and sometimes fails to kill them with a direct hit even at close range)]. The game feels like a frantic cross of the retro Serious Sam games crossed with the movement of Halo (with the addition of a double jump).
What ultimately ruins this game for me, is the fact that the twitch gameplay this game demands isn't censored possible because the game will randomly stop registering your keyboard input and leave you standing still - which, even if it only happens for a second [while playing on the hardest difficulty], is a death sentence.
That doesn't sound too bad, you say?
Well, couple that with the TERRIBLE checkpoints in this game - which will often force you to replay 30% of a level whenever you die - and it soon becomes frustrating, tiresome and boring.
This game is cheap, in every possible way. 2/10.
I had such a great time playing this game! It was so much fun and well worth the price. The only real downside is the 2 hour length, but again, this is only $1! Please make Putrefaction 3!
It's a decent game with Early Xbox 360 Era Graphics.
I havent played too long and as a result am only picking at gripes from the first level.
Pricing - Bought this on sale for £0.39 Which I think is more apropriately priced for this game.
Graphics - They seem to bug at times and as previously mentioned they look early Xbox 360 Era Games.
Gameplay - Repetitve, So far there are only a few guns in my playthrough those being the Handgun, Shotgun and Dynomite, theres a lack of enemy variety just; Standard, shooter, tank and Slicer, but It does have some entertainment and thats the Decapitation system, shooting an enemy in the leg, arm or head with a powerful gun causes the limb to come off.
Difficulty: EZ, blasted through the first level on the normal mode, although this curve could increase in harder difficulties we'll find out.
Overall - Its not a bad game but I could stand to be better, and for 40p, who can complain. Final Rating 4/10
I am 68 and love these simple games. Just a bunch of running around and shooting. No real plot. Only wish it had more levels but for .99 was 3 hours of simple mindless fun.
Eventually I will get lucky and make it through the fourth chapter on EXTREME. But there just is to much going on in the last boss fight on EXTREME. 1 hit kills, crap spawning all around you and three or more times of spinning laser beams, with spawns and spawn portals which if you touch said spawn portals will damage or kill you. Unfortunately just makes me mad as hell :/ Not a pleasant experience for myself. Others may enjoy it as it's better than the dark orginal Putrefaction and super cheap when onsale...
^EDIT: Finally Beat it on 4th chapter boss on EXTREME, and still MAD lol, I intially left a NEGATIVE review but that wouldn't be fair so I changed it to POSITIVE, as the game in other lvls and different setting can be quite fun, and games should be fun and this one can be... Won't be playing Putrefaction Void Walker anytime soon as to let my blood boil settle down :)
If you liked the original Putrefaction 2, you'll enjoy this one just as much. Officially billed as DLC, so set your expectations on length a lot lower, as the whole thing can be blasted through in under 2 hours on hard difficulty.
The setting is very much more Doom-esque than before. It's the modern world, but not as we know it. Demonspawn from beyond have invaded and ruined everything, and it's all down to you to defeat them. From that premise, you basically murder your way across 4 levels to defeat the big bad boss. On the whole I found it slightly easier than the main game, as before the boss battle there was really only one or two spots that gave me any bother.
The final boss battle was thoroughly enjoyable, and required quite a bit of skill and a fair number of repeats to get through.
Secondary weapon upgrades return as well as skill points, though the whole game was over so quick it didn't really give you time to earn as much as the original and get many upgrades.
Definitely worth supporting this developer, as they're output quality is higher than a lot of the ones we get on steam nowadays.
Hey, it's more Putrefaction, for very little money. Putrefaction 2 and this one have a Serious Sam vibe, original Putrefaction sort of reminded me of a polished Sauerbraten. I find the checkpoints are quite fair, if (when) the baddies get you, you don't have to repeat a lot of the game.
..got it on sale, always nice. I, like others, .. try to support the small developers, sometimes gems, never know.
ANyhow, good music, controls and mechanics are fine with KB. Guns fire on spot, movement is good, graphics dated, with rough edges. Then again, its a dirt cheap game. Monsters respond well, good AI. Im playing hardcore, so yeah difficult can be a challenge.
Main gripe, and its a big one. THere seems to be a driver error compaltibliy issue. Could be graphic or system, dont know? I got BSOD 3 times playing this. WIndows 8.1 64 bit. So with saying that.. I cant recommend the game.
