terrible
I like Miku, but this game ain't it imo
There's several things that caught my attention, mainly some wacky translations and inconsistencies in the tutorials, e.g: the notes in the tutorial are spheres, while in-game they're just circles
Gameplay is kinda lacking, especially considering there's less than 30 songs in the game, including the DLC, and there's only 2 difficulties for each song, Easy, and Hard, which ironically don't even have a way to measure how easy / hard it is (think of star rating in osu!, or chart constant in Arcaea) the songs in-game always have some reverb, i assume to make it sound like you're on an actual stage, but it's very basic and it shows whenever you pause, speaking of which, if you pause while there are any notes nearby, you can still hit them, and i think they'll give you the full score, too
While writing this, i actually noticed this game was released almost 7 years ago, and the fact there's no new content / bug fixes makes me think this game was abandoned by the devs rather quickly, which is a shame, because if it was just a bit more polished, i would've considered keeping it.
maybe when it's on sale i'll give it another go
If you give me Miku, i will give you a positive review.
I do think £21 is a bit much just for 10 songs without the extras, I do find it pretty fun especially seeing Miku dance in front of you, I'd recommend this if there is a sale going on and to someone who really loves Hatsune Miku
OK ok Imma be honest. As a fun little VR experience that maybe you enjoy for half an evening or perhap show to your weaboo friends who never done did any VR before, this game is fine. If you are a Miku simp, you will love it. I dont even idgaf what anyone says, Teo is one of the finest songs of all time, of all time.
I had an absolute blast with this for a few days with some friends staying over. For these reasons alone, this review is positive. But wait! There's some important context to my positivity:
Judged as a VR rhythm game it is actually pretty weak. The visual design of the game itself is high key atrocious, just generally ugly, the notes especially near the floor blend way too much into the environment. Depending on what dance moves she's dropping, Miku herself can often obscure your view. I'm like hello??? Who designed this shit? At least the environments and Miku herself are lovely.

Feedback on missed notes is barely there, so chasing high scores or perfects is super annoying because I'm like hell yea brother perfect level, only to find at the very end that no, actually I fucked up somewhere without even realizing.
Talking of poor feedback, at the end of the level on the score board, you get your score, thats cool, but then I'm like did I beat my previous best or nah? Game doesnt actually let you know, it just dumps the score and leaves.
As for what you actually do, basically just catch loops with ur wands, vaguely to the rhythm of the song. Ughhhhh..... That's literally it. There's no nuance, its boring, repetitive, and a huge chunk of the difficulty comes from the poor visual design.
If you're looking to sneak some cardio into your day, this game isn't it. If you want some tight and precise rhythm based challenges nope look elsewhere like Pistol Whip, Beat Saber, Ragnarock, Audica, etc etc etc.
Only buy this if you're fine with receiving nothing more than a cute little party game, and you have the sort of friends that wont make fun of you for liking Miku. Like Gavin. Hey, fuck you gavin! You dont even understand.
