Simple game, no frills, but you *can* enjoy some of it. 5/10
I kept the game because it is playable and enjoyable enough with cheat engine -notable the quantity of games I finish and relish thanks to it-.
(Stamina, Health, Gold = 99,900, ... , all is 4 Bytes Exact, freeze what you want).
If you use cheat engine, the game doesn't expect you to live if attacked by various foes at once:
don't let them corner you against a wall, etc, instead have always a path to roll away.
( Otherwise, if they hit you in sequence while cornered, you can never recover sufficiently for a hit back, so you have to unfreeze health and die to restart the level as there is no other escape from the neverending attack ).
Finished, some 6 levels.
Cool concept and realistic gameplay! I definitely recommend this game if you like action-RPGs! ☺️ Although some people might say that it's "incomplete" or "not good", I see this game as a great new beginning for future series development by these guys!
I guess you can describe this game as poorly made Dark Souls with Diablo’s camera.
Weird angle for a direct-control game like this. The camera either lets you cheat and see the enemies in the adjacent rooms, or doesn’t let you see getting yourself murdered.
The combat is not satisfying, you don’t feel the impact of your attacks, the weapons have strange and inconvenient movesets. Most enemies in the game are boring zombies and similarly boring human opponents. The difficulty is all over the place - it’s “click LMB repeatedly to win” for zombies and spiders and “evade attacks for 5 minutes waiting for a good opening and then die from 1 hit” for humans. The best way to fight them is just circling around and baiting them into doing combos and then counterattacking. Using a shield and dodge rolls doesn’t seem very necessary or helpful. The enemies are placed rather unimaginatively in seemingly random places so there are no interesting fights or unexpected ambushes. The AI reacts as you come within certain distance of them and there’s a clear path to the player (they don’t care about line of sight and will come for you through the entire level). This distance is the same for all enemies, so the best strategy is to carefully creep up on monster groups to aggro them one by one (fighting several human enemies at once is pretty much suicide). There’s a lot of enemies in the game and killing them takes a bit of time, so clearing a level is an utterly tedious process. There are some special monsters that are marginally more interesting to deal with, but there’s only a handful of them in the game.
If you die, you have to start the level from the beginning (there are no saves or checkpoints) and all the enemies and consumables respawn, though you keep the loot you’ve found, and the treasure chests stay opened. At times I was forced to kill myself repeatedly so I could get a bunch of healing items to make it further. There are shortcuts you can open to bypass some areas of the levels, but they are far enough apart that you have many opportunities to die and may need to replay certain parts over and over again (not fun).
There’s no leveling up and not a whole lot of equipment to choose from so the RPG elements are lacking. Weapons of the same types have the same movesets and differ only in damage values. Some weapons have special abilities that you can only use several times during one level, but I didn’t really feel the need to experiment with them (same with accessories). It appears that some weapon types are more effective against certain enemies, but I was primarily using axes, because I was most comfortable with the axe attack pattern. You can find shops and buy\sell things, but you find enough good stuff in chests anyway (also, I don’t think I made enough money throughout the entire game to afford the best armor in the shop). Enemies only drop money, healing items and sometimes keys.
The levels themselves are more or less linear and aren’t very exciting - a sewer, a dungeon, a city, none of which are visually interesting or fun to explore. There’re only a few levels and the game itself is kinda short (would be even shorter without all the restarting and retrying), but it is more of a blessing since it’s such a chore to get through it.
There’s some lore and story in the game available in scattered notes you find throughout the levels. None of it is interesting, and I couldn’t be arsed to piece it together. The only good part of the story is the intro cutscene.
Not a terrible game, but mediocre and not very fun to play.
If your a fan of HARDCORE games then you will definetly enjoy this one. Ive died so many times in this game but i still try it over and over again.
Enemies are deadly serious and sometimes they will even do massive blow to you which will instantly kill you.
There is still room for improvement but as a 1st game from Unwhale Studios, its solid enough.
There could be some debate about price tag thou O.o

TL:DR:
The game is okay, but a bit on the boring side. It feels like some mechanics are missing which would actually make it a good game. There is no leveling/skill system, enemies don't seem to drop loot, and overall it just feels a bit lacking. At $9, I don't feel like it is worth the money. If it goes on sale, then go for it.

I enjoy the top down RPG dungeon games, but this one felt a bit boring and repetitive. I understand they are trying to make it difficult, but really it's very easy one you recognize you're able to chain stun enemies. Left mouse button is a normal single strike attack, but right click is 2 attacks chained together that stun locks enemies. The only really concern is stamina, but if you run away for just a second or two, you're back to full.
Loot seems to be confined to chests, open in the environment, and sometimes in boxes. Feels odd that enemies don't drop the gear they wear once you kill them. And without a leveling/skillset system, the game feels very bland.
Graphics are actually pretty nice and the level design is decent as well. Audio is mediocre, but nothing to complain about. Controls feel responsive, but lining up sword strikes on your enemies take a bit of getting used to.
The beginning intro sequence was enjoyable. I enjoyed the story, the voice acting was alright, and the glyph/painting sequence was pretty cool.
I was on the fence about recommending this game, but I think I'll need to suggest passing at the moment. If the game drops to around $4, then go for it. Until then, we'll wait for updates and see if it gets any better.
Nice made ARPG, rogue/hardcore like :) Worth the money. Just look:

More Diablo than Diablo 3. Buy it and get ready to feel the nostalgia again.
LOOT LOOOT LOOOOOOOOOT !!!!
CRUCIBLE, I'm coming! (again, and again, repeat)
Enoch is a good Action RPG with an engaging story, satisfying character development and individualisation possibilities and the music and immersion will most likely last you at least few days, so I can recommend it for anyone liking action RPGs.
