About the Game
From Cosmo D, the creator of the freeware hit Off-Peak, comes a game that is both its spiritual and direct sequel.
In 1983, Peter Norwood, one of the world's most celebrated pianists and composers, mysteriously vanished. His private mansion was turned into the Hotel Norwood, which, over the years, accumulated its own share of notoriety. But the mystery of what really went on during Norwood's time never truly got uncovered... until now.
The Norwood Suite is a first-person adventure game that takes players to the secluded Hotel Norwood on a simple friendly errand that quickly unfolds into something much more involved. Filled with bizarre characters and curiosities, this mysterious resort is a dense, open-ended world teeming with hidden passages and secrets to discover.
Peer into the lives of the hotel’s guests and staff, explore and interact with surprises behind every door, and piece together a jigsaw narrative that rewards your curiosity. The Norwood Suite features surreal art design, as well as an original atmospheric musical score, composed by Cosmo D, that integrates itself directly into the game world.[/p]

best game i have ever had the opportunity of playing
Great atmosphere, great music (especially Norwood's Last Disciple), very charming. Played while I was sick with the worst dry cough ever.
odd and fun game! the world is so unique and absurd but you can teel it has its own internal logic, which keeps you playing.
Hard to explain this one, it is kinda weird/odd. Fun to play and experience. Doesn't overstay its welcome. Just a fun little ride.
Some crashing issues are the only negative in sight. This is a must play game for anyone with any self respect.
Good
The Norwood Suite is another fantastic walking sim from Cosmo D, creator of the Off-Peak games. I think it's the best one I've played. It has all of the weird, surreal, capital-A Art influences of the other games in the series, but it feels a bit more fun and whimsical to me. As usual you are a first person mystery protagonist exploring a strange world full of wonky synthesizers, sleazy hipsters, living statues, secret passages and more. It's tightly-plotted and none of the puzzles leave you wondering for too long, although there are a couple of missable achievements (secret rooms) that can easily be picked up on a restarted playthrough if you desire. Great music, great visuals, just a top-notch slice of adventure gaming pleasure.
This is a quirky game with very interesting 90s-resembling visuals that initially look very promising and are accompanied by interesting soundscapes. The trailer which showed interesting possibilities of interaction (a mysterious hotel and super weird, or surreal, graphics) was also the reason why I bought the game. I like exploration point and click games, and this could have been something amazing, as I am very open to indie games, especially if they look as quirky as this one.
Having said that, I recommend to only buy this on sale. The only positive thing I can say is stated above. Personally, I could not cope with the way the NPCs could be approached and talked, and the initially interesting sounds soon were so awkward to my ears that I had to mute the game. The entire *interaction design* and gameplay were not something I can appreciate, and I never returned to this game, despite appreciating the weird visuals. It is fine to play games that feel like a student project (I have some experience with guiding students in interaction design), but this one did not work for me.
In summary:
I would have loved to like this, as this could have been great. Maybe it works for someone else (given all the good reviews). My advice: if you buy it, only go for the Sale options.
oddly paced and ambiguous ending but overall a great game - i just wish there was more substance to interpret.
I really liked how odd the characters in the game were and the overall vibe. You can go at your own pace, complete tasks for guests of the Norwood Hotel, find hidden rooms, and the ending left me with more questions than answers, making me hope for a Norwood Suite 2.
I'm not sure what I just played but I should stop buying steam badge coupon games.
good game, just wish there was a little more to it (only takes about 2 hrs on first time) - some of my recorded time was away from the computer
good game
I have no idea what just happened but it was crazy and awesome and cool and scary and fun.
Recommend
nice
I got this with a coupon.
WTF did I just play?
At least getting the achievements are easy
Story "heavy" expansion on the idea of Off Peak, with a world just as fun and an even BETTER soundtrack
The vibe is here again. It holds itself together more consistently. Things "make sense" more but that does not mean the fantasy is wholly gone, and it remains at times absolutely inscrutable. Underlying ideas and themes appear clearer to me in this one. It feels like the logical expansion of its predecessor.
Let's see where it keeps heading.
Sh*t got me bricked up for some reason frfr
Even if you haven't played "Metro" which is by the same developer, I suggest you give "The Norwood Suite" a go. In a certain way it is like "Metro" in that the game is full of bizarre, crazy, mind boggling pieces of artwork. But this game is more story-driven than "Metro" and features a longer more in-depth form of game play.
You find yourself dropped off outside The Norwood Hotel which seems to have an absolutely spectacular view of a city. From there you have to find your way inside and discover why you are actually there, becoming involved in deeply amazing little stories from all of the characters you meet, helping them out with little things along the way as they also help you achieve your goals.
There's an intriguingly rich level of exploration involved with this game, finding secret doorways and tunnels, searching for items and an ending which is something I can't quite comprehend.
But fantastic artwork and music along the way make this game a truly enjoyable experience.
incredibly creative, groovy and full of life. so enjoyable
amazing
shrooms without shrooms
I would live in this weird world.
Creative mix of chill and freaky. The atmosphere is disorienting, but rarely actually scary. Music is a total vibe. I can’t say I understood what was going on, but an engrossing two hours
Profound
UNDENIABLY the best Cosmo D game. After playing all of his games religiously this is the one that has stuck with me the most. Definitely check out his other games if you like this even a little, but as for a place to start this is definitely the best.
