In Fjong you play as one of three small birdlike creatures.
They dream of flying, but unfortunately their wings are to tiny.
But in the land of the Fjong there is a special candy you can eat that blow you up like a balloon, making you lift from the ground and fly up to the sky.
This is the dream of the Fjong.
Fjong is a physics based game where you jump around each stage to get to a bucket of candy.
The stages starts as basic jumping challenges when you control the main blue Fjong but evolves to a more challenging physics puzzle when you unlock the other characters.

Launch the 3 amigos into the bucket of sweets. A quaint and endearing concept.
Despite the cutesy, beautiful aesthetic, character design and tone, its far too unforgiving and frustrating to play, despite being a family friendly/aimed at kids type game.
It wants to be a slingshot type game, a sort of Angry Birds type affair, but like a lot of these "ironically casual" games, that are far more punishing than they appear to be, getting 3 stars or even just trying to get the "Fjongs" to go in the direction you want is far more difficult than it should be.
It's a really fun, unique concept generally, inspired by Angry Birds as I said but also any sort of slingshot type games and even Pool/Snooker of all things but its not as fun to play as it appears and sounds like it should be, hence I cannot recommend it unfortunately. A real shame.
In other words, this game out of sheer rage made me shout:
"WHAT THE FJONG, YOU FJONGING SON OF A FJONG?! WHY WON'T YOU FJONGING GO WHERE YOU'RE FJONGING SUPPOSED TO GO?! FJONG YOURSELF! FJONG YOU! FJONG OFF!"
Fjong is a very simple Angry Birds style mobile app-like Clickteam copy + paste job that's been dumped on Steam as if it was a PC game. Gameplay consists of putting your finger on your iPhone screen to fling a pixel blob at various candies to eat them. Eat enough and the level is over. So yeah this is dumbed down even compared to Angry Birds, at least that has structures to destroy, etc. This is shallow compared to that. Worth pointing out Angry Birds is free on the app stores but the developer here wants your cash money for this garbage.
From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result.
There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics.
The game only displays in mobile phone style ultra-pillarboxed aspect ratio. This is just one of many indications this was developed to be a mobile app and not a serious PC game. It's not acceptable for developers to dump garbage like this on Steam when it's not even formatted or designed to run properly on modern PC gaming displays, to the point that this could be considered insulting.
Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the Clickteam Fusion game engine/toolset - the "No-Code" construction kit that "Anyone can make games with!!". Including, you know, people who aren't game developers. Which is a problem. This is a very poor quality toolset sometimes used by amateur developers as it's free (so they don't have to pay for GameMaker Studio) and doesn't require advanced game development skills, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities (it's arguably worse than GameMaker Studio). Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine.
This looks and feels like a mobile app, but it doesn't seem to have made it to the app stores. It's unclear why this was put on Steam instead of the app stores it seems to have been designed for. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all).
Regardless, for all intents and purposes "Fjong" might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 8 players. That's right, only 8. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is to be expected. Gamers just didn't take this low quality game seriously, and for good reason.
Fjong is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend.

Nice and cute little game, my kid absolutely loved it and even cried when it was over. The only drawback is it was too short. Please make more levels!
the secret game was the most annoying Achievement in this whole game.
a beautiful children's game that's trying to be something it's not.
This buggy nuisance thinks that it can be a precision game. It can't. Some of the levels are hard enough to do to get normal 3 stars since how they respond varies too much even when using the same power and angle. Sometimes they even bounce backwards when you are telling them to go forwards... This game has a scoring system based on how many turns you use and this makes level 17 almost impossible to do to get the normal 3 stars. Then once you get all the stars then there's purple stars which doesn't count even if you already had a perfect jump count in that level before you must do it again. So for purple stars it counts down which is even more infuriating when there's such a lack of consistency. If you like games that make you mad because they're so stupid this is for you. If you don't like being cheated at every turn walk away.
Pros:
+cute/pretty art
+good level pacing (if jumping worked correctly)
+good tutorial levels
Cons:
-no jumping/movement consistency making some purple star levels impossible
-too tight of requirements, I'd up the star cap for 3 stars on level 17 by 1 and double the jump counter count on a handful of the purple levels
-likely to induce rage... being cheated isn't fun
It can be a bit of a frustrating and inconsistent game at points but is still fun, might not be worth the full price for some however. I do recommend the game but only for those who have a couple of dollars to waste for an hour or so game or wanna give a child they know something to play for abit.
FJong is a short, but fun little physics puzzle game.
Your objective is to make the "Pelicans" get to the delicious magical "Flying Candy" by triggering switches or just doing some tricky platforming.
The difficulty comes from gauging your power and distance with the "arrow" indicator...basically if you've played Worms or Angry Birds you'll be familiar with how this game works at a base level.
Trial and error will be the name of the game as you try to aim for 3 (and later, 4) star completion scores.

The game is clearly meant (or was on) Mobile Devices, but it isn't a huge detriment and the devs appeared to transition the game rather well to PC format.
Music is calming but very limited. You'll hear the same sexy saxophone solo pretty frequently...but it's not mind numbing so that's a plus.
There are some frustrating spots (namely 4 Star, level 7) that seem to be at the whims of the RNG gods in terms of getting your Pelican where you want it to be. Rest assured, it CAN be done but it's extremely frustrating after about 20 restarts or so.
A couple puzzles make use of the Heavy Pelican quite interestingly for achieving 3 and 4 stars. It's satisfying to figure out those little tricks.

If you like Physics Platforming puzzle type games like Angry Birds, this will give you something to do for an hour to several hours depending on skill and ability to learn.
