did a triple front flip and landed in a crowd. very fun rally game with the vehichles being way to durable
At first the crashing will be frustrating, but eventually you will get used to it. The fact that you can catastrophically end the stage (evidenced through aforementioned crashing) makes surviving to the end all the more satisfying. The dynamic is unique if you are used to arcade racing games: you need to go fast to post winning times, but you need to be cautious enough not to destroy the car by making even the tiniest of mistakes. Little things like clipping a fence, hitting a dip at the wrong angle before a turn, or going too fast into an off-camber turn can completely throw you off line. Rain means something very different in this game than in most other racing games: it's not just that traction is reduced, it's that track degradation is worse, traction is reduced, and everything feels harder to see due to the drops hitting the windshield, the mud, the wipers, etc... especially at night. Even screwing up your lights can be very bad if you have a night stage to complete later.
I've got like 27 hours in the game and it's already my favorite racing game of all time.
A little easier than the first dirt in some situations, harder in others. Beautiful maps, great tracks, and great cars. Don't buy it for full price, when it's only sale deluxe goes for around $5 so you don't have to worry about the DLC except a few.
best racing game in the world, very good many thanks developers and engineers, best regards.
This game is very good. The variety of maps/cars is a little limited without the DLC. Would recommend getting it all.
Yet another otherwise wonderful game ruined by unnecessary online integration.
Even in singleplayer championships, I'm stuck with the game incessantly complaining that it can't connect to the servers.
And for what, the Online Leaderboard? Anti-Cheat?
I don't have delusions of being a hypercompetitive L33T e-sports gamer, I just want to thrash a stratos up a hill or fool around in freeroam, and yet the game treats me like I'm trying to cheat my way into a sanctioned e-sports competition.
Suppose I'm going back to DiRT 3, then.
Really cool game. Nice graphics, okay mechanics and physics, overall fun to play. Im just missing rally legends like the celica gt4 or carlos sainz' car 9/10 would jump to my death again
great game to play with ur stearing wheel ngl. down side is pysics dosent feel right
Challenging but quite addictive once you get into the flow. I have mostly played with modern 4WD cars. The classic powerful 2WD models I find super hard to drive.
Everybody gangsta until Samir goes full throttle into a triple caution.
Love the scenery. Very pretty game. It feels chill and hectic at the same time. And you can play it in VR!
Pretty fun rally game, not bad on mouse and keyboard, but I feel like the best experience would be on a sim.
The DiRT franchise is having an identity crisis.
On the one hand, it wants to be a simulation game.
On the other, it wants to be an arcade game.
Physics in this game is worse than any other game of the series, with absolutely terrible controller options that do not make the game fun. Throttle control? Forget about it. No matter what setting you choose, 50% is full throttle. This isn't how real gas pedals work, so why force this mechanic? It makes it incredibly difficult to actually control your car, especially on pavement - which this game simulates the WORST. Don't even get me started with this "always online career" crap. Do better Codemasters, you used to be a legendary studio.
I'll stick to the old games in this franchise... glad I only spend $5 on this one.
very realistic experience, but you need to get wheel settings just right. the details with damage is good and dbox motion support is excellent. need to find a triple monitor solution though
Very Difficult game but honestly nice sim

From my measly 27 Hours Playtime, I noticed the traction is not that good and the damage system isnt needed but its a good Game and worth the Price if you like Rally Games
Race, fly off into boulders and trees, retire, come back, try 100000 times, enjoy. 9/10.
Its like all crazy and stuff how you drive and its fast but like if you drive bad it really wont be that fast so it takes some skill to do it good but its fun to learn.
I never really could get into many racing games other than the more arcade type games such as burnout or nfs. But really my roots in racing stemmed long before that by playing classic rally games unknowingly such as M.R.C for the n64 and v-rally for the ps1.
I decided to pick up DiRT Rally 2.0 after watching a man with no arms or legs play it, and play it very well. It motivated me to play time trials and events and now that I can drive at an intermediate level I feel that I am hooked. I only want to improve on my times, and I strive to get better with each car that I drive.
I like that each car drives differently which makes each championship playthrough feel new.
I recommend this game 5/5, 10/10, two thumbs up, five stars, great rally sim. great game.
Very realistic driving and good graphics. Only bad side is that Toyota vehicles are missing. (Celica fan)
Best in class sim racer / rally sim. Have not played a better sim race game.
Very fun and amazing game, graphics look amazing, suggestion: have more cars like the gr yaris
Great game, One of, if not the best as far as true to life feeling or sim of it all. Notice: One issue i do have is that, being a gearhead i noticeed the gear tuning aspect is displayed incorrectly and is backwards to what the numeric value intends to represent vs what it does and and displays IE: smaller gear ratios result in longer gears which in game smaller numbers = smaller gears...confused me and is minor but figured for how realistic and well it does racing it should have a accurate tuning system. sure devs could fix with a patch and hope to get the report to em.
Do you love going fast and feeling like a man than this is the game for you full of action racing and crashing a lot crashing its a great game trust me my profile has a few racing games.
I was very surprised when I found out this game is about planes and not cars
(its not, i just cant drive and I fly for the majority of the track)
its a fun game if ur into wrc but i just do freeplay tbh
Best racing game I've ever played and I helped make Forza Motorsport 1, 2 and 3. I did the Dirtfish AWD rally school in real life a few weeks ago and I'm finding many of the skills I learned apply to playing the game. I'm not saying it's true sim of real rally car physics but it sure does a great job of "feeling" like you're driving a rally car on a stage at crazy speeds. That it works great with my Logitech G920 wheel, Heusinkveld handbrake and Quest VR headset makes it my absolute favorite racing game of all time.
Dirt Rally 2.0 is the ultimate rally experience—brutal, realistic, and insanely satisfying. Every turn, jump, and drift feels intense, especially with a wheel setup. The difficulty is no joke, but mastering a stage is the best feeling ever. Car handling is top-notch, and the weather effects make races even more thrilling. If you love rally racing, this is as good as it gets!
Probably the best rally game I've played. Get the GOTY edition for a good deal on all the DLCs.
Really great game, very satisfying even playing on controller. Requires skill tho and a little of understanding about cars. I wish i could play this game on a rig (dont have one), i bet it would feel amazing!
10/10
This game does not use a launcher.
Bought this game when it was 80% off. The best £3.59 I've spent in a long while. Probably be worth it still at full price.
* Classic racing physics; You know where you are with this game when you have experience driving already.
* Lots of settings to tweak: Audio, Graphics, Gameplay and Controls (if you feel the need)
* Lots of racing methods and online stats (as of this moment). Have a feeling I'll get far with this game.
* Polished enough graphics; not overly shine and not dog water. Everything looks amazing when it's dialed in.
Would recommend this to anyone keen in the rally genre or racing. It is a must have for a good rally experience.
Physics 10/10
Gameplay 9.5/10
Graphics 10/10
Audio 9/10
The Dark Souls of racing games. It will beat you into submission, but once you get the hang on just how to get around the corners without killing yourself and your co-driver, it offers one of the most rewarding and satisfying driving experiences I've encountered in gaming.
Hands down, Dirt Rally 1 is a better rally sim... The car physics in 2.0 are just not right. Driving on gravel is insanely floaty, as if your car weighs 10k lbs and you're always on mud. Driving on asphalt generally feels good, but as soon as the road is wet, you're back into a slide-fest.
Its fun enough, don't get my wrong, but it just doesn't even come close to the same level of snappy, fluid, jarring, and sometimes downright violent driving excitement of Dirt Rally 1.
Edit: I figured "hey self, theres a VR mode. Stop being a loser and try that". Thats generally how i speak to myself... I redact everything I said above. Playin this game in VR mode is Fu&%ing amazeballs. There is a little bit of input delay, which I am going to look into, but holy cow dude... What a blast. All the vague physics, out of control driving, and slide-festivies totally disappeared when I was sitting in that drivers seat. Wonder why?
Nice game, but wouldn't recommend sober. Start with the Evo 6 in career mode and save yourself some hair. Also, be sure to unlock tuning and change the braking ratio closer to the rear, You're welcome.
Awesome old rally game/sim, still up there as one of the best rally sims in 2025 imho.
The physics and FFB is amazing in this game, still better than any of the WRC rally games.
DiRT Rally 2.0 – A Brutal Yet Rewarding Rally Experience
If you're looking for an intense, realistic rally sim, DiRT Rally 2.0 is the game to beat. It offers a challenging but deeply satisfying driving experience that rewards precision, control, and patience.
Gameplay
This is not your typical arcade racer—it's a hardcore rally simulator that punishes mistakes but makes every clean stage feel incredibly rewarding. The handling model is superb, with a real sense of weight transfer, traction loss, and terrain differences. Whether you're tearing through gravel roads in Argentina or sliding through the snow in Sweden, every surface feels unique. Car tuning and tire choices add another layer of depth, making preparation just as important as skill.
Performance
With an RX 7800XT and Ryzen 7 5700X, you can run DiRT Rally 2.0 at 60+ FPS on max settings without any issues. The game is well-optimized, and the visuals are stunning, especially with the dynamic weather effects that impact handling.
Conclusion
If you want an unforgiving but rewarding rally experience, DiRT Rally 2.0 is an absolute must-play. It's a game that will test your skills and patience, but mastering its challenges is incredibly satisfying.
Highly recommended for serious racing fans!
Game mechanics are fun, but always-online career mode has aggressively boned me over and over again about "inconsistencies" in my save file; It waits until the end of a long event before forcing a total reset of the entire championship because their server is deranged. Why does a single-player career need serverside verification anyway?
VR is cool but has awful performance without lots of settings tweaks. My hardware is recent and runs better looking games faster. I also have NO IDEA why this game takes 100Gb.
DR1 was better in my opinion and should still be offered for sale
tldr; performance issues due to badly implemented "anti-cheat"
+ always on-line
+ idiotic "cinematic" "footage" and other time wasters; no option to turn off, or skip
= not recommended
Game works perfectly fine, but only for first few stages; sometimes, I can't even finish all normal (not RX) daily challenges. Then "anti-cheat" fires-up, and game starts stuttering badly (like, 5-10 fps). This is on Linux Mint + Proton. Tried changing gfx settings, Proton version, searching forums, found nothing useful, only restarting game helps. Worse, "anti-cheat" fires-up, and game is always on-line even if you play solo career.
CM doubled down on idiotic "cinematic" "footage" (and other time wasters): from video at game start, "press enter to start", starting and finishing a stage, delayed animations for "grand" results + car upgrades; no option to turn these off, can't skip those, has to watch that sh*t every single fuc*ing time. @devs, do you think we are all 11yo? Annoying AF.
Negative review until these issues are solved.
the game is super fun, i have played it with a controller (not to bad), g920 (meh) , moza r5 (wich was great), and now gathering parts for a better sim rig. If you like dirt rallying its with out a doubt a great time. its a few years old now but still has tons of content
Fantastic game. It took me a while to get my settings right for the FFB but when I got it right, it felt so much better. Dont start the game and leave your settings at default. It will be very hard to learn the game with a sim. Look up settings to help you out and understand what the settings are doing. The handling in this game is great once you figure that out. I really enjoy rally cross championship. I wish it was a little harder with the AI but it does pretty well. I found this game very hard at first so I played WRC for a bit and that seemed much easier. Once I got used to that and went back to this, it was so much better. Maybe I just got better but I much prefer this, now, over WRC. The graphics in this game are better and the feeling of driving in a sim is much better. Hope that helps.
- Controller is a minimum requirement. Don't use Keyboard, or you'll be having a bad time with GT class.
- Works perfectly on Linux
so hard but so fun. I hope you can make offline career mode
This game is dope in VR. My entire playtime has been spent in VR. The game is poorly optimized to it so it requires the ability to overlook some quality issues........ but if you have that ability you will have a lot of fun drifting through the forest and various racetracks. I bought a 5080 for this game specifically if that tells you anything about true hardware requirements.....
The biggest (and maybe only) complaint I have about this game is the general lack of liveries on almost all of the cars. This is especially obvious on some cars like the 2007 Focus RS but it applies to almost every car in the game, usually having around 10 liveries, half of which are just plain colors with some sponsors slapped onto them. Not having a livery editor isn't the end of the world, but at least don't make it almost impossible for us to make custom mod liveries for the cars. Apart from that, this is one of the best rally games I've ever played, it manages to be incredibly realistic but still enjoyable on almost any device.
This racing game is a blast! The realistic physics make every turn and drift feel authentic, and the challenging gameplay keeps you on your toes. The graphics are stunning, adding to the thrill of the race. Highly recommended for any racing fan!
A fantastic Rally Sim experience. The sound is spot on, the FFB (apart from Tarmac) is excellent, the UI is overall pretty good.
The Career progression is good and you really have to get invested in each event with limited stint restarts (depends if you like a challenge or not).
I didn't really pay any attention to the upgrades other then just spending the money to make it the best tier, and in game didn't notice THAT much difference other then weighing up the car with extra spare wheels, this dropped my times dramatically.
Controls seemed to be generally plug and play on my g29 and shifter.
Graphics are generally lovely but be aware it can be a hog on VR users' PC's.
I highly recommend playing it in VR, the immersion is incredible, but also be aware that if you don't have your VR legs it can get a bit stomach turning as some friends have pointed out, you're constantly throwing your car hard in to corners and may be jarring for an inexperienced VR user.
Highly recommend, still, in 2025.
the graphics are insanely good and its......................fun for people who like rallying
Not a top-tier player, but I rank 200-250 globally. I heard Dirt Rally 2.0 is not for keyboard players, but I tried it. It's tough but achievable. Not an arcade game—you need skill. Every corner counts, and setups vary per location. Front-wheel drive is easiest; rear-wheel is hardest. Hope this helps!
This is an example of a decent VR Rally sim. I sadly have to say For VR players this will be better than WRC24 If not VR you should be ok with both.
very fun very frustrating and very difficult
