I didn't expect to be hooked like that, fun little game that won't hurt your wallet.

The early game can be tough but the breacher is op so it balances out.

Make sure to switch over to other operators once you're acquainted with the game, that's a lot more fun than sticking with just one.

This game is AWESOME! Grab yourself a friend, buy this game, and then use remote play to play with him/her, even if he did't buy the game. Of course, you should buy two copies to support these awesome devs, but you can play co-op without buying two copies.

This game is freaking amazing, it's a gory, chaotic, hilarious mess that is grounded by having tactics. It has everything doorkickers 1 fans would like, goofy voicelines, shotgun breaching, spy cams, and some shield tactics. Seriously, this is one of the greatest co-op experiences I've ever had. I bought it so I could play a co-op game with my gf who has a really bad PC (a mac) and it works just fine for this purpose (when using remote play... the normal co-op is really buggy)

This game will be fun for a time and then it will become a challenge of how much annoying bullshit it can try and hit you with before you just go, "I know how to get three stars on this, but it won't be fun, so fuck this, I'm done"

Its a challenge not too easy but not too hard.
You have to develop a tactic to get through a level or you will die a very fast and tragic death.

As you get more experience on your mates you could develop different paths like:

-get better guns
-get more health
-spray of your gun is less
-better close combat
-faster "special equipment"

the graphics are ok.
Like old games but beautiful in its way.
Sound is good.

Characters need different approaches, like
shotgun guy= fast reload fast kill shots close range
Special abilities, alternative fire.
Shields ...

Nice concept good level design.
A little "grindy" but not to a level where youn need hours and hours of "farming" to stand a chance.

I love this silly spinoff of a more serious game. Would love to see more IPs explore genres and tone in the same way.

I LOVE this silly little game. It runs terrific on the Steam Deck, and it is a blast solo or with friends. It is THE side scrolling 2D action platformer I have wanted for years, I am so glad I found it, even if I am 7 years late.

If you don't mind being rushed by a kind Arabian fella then this game is just perfect for you!

A bit grindy but a great game nonetheless. I love the Door Kickers series, but I refuse to buy it at its current price or whatever sale the devs set it to (smh, it's still expensive). So when I saw this retro swat team Door Kickers game, I instantly bought it. It's repetitive, but you honestly get a good deal for the price. It reminds me of Rainbow Six Siege (minus the goofy lore), as it draws a lot of parallels to the series with its setting and tone. My favourite character would have to be Off-Duty Guy, as I almost have him maxed out, but every time I come off of him, I'm quickly reminded how bad I am at the game. Jokes aside, I've been having a ton of fun with his game; it's also very similar to a game called Police Stories, as they're both 2D retro police RPG shooters, with one being a side-view shooter and the other a top-down shooter. All in all, great game, been enjoying it on my Steam Deck and I can't wait to try the co-op if my brother picks it up.

Like other reviews say, this is basically tactical broforce.

And thats a good thing. Game is gory, satisfying and fun to play.

The pixel art graphics are very well executed, as well as the mechanics, allowing you to play stealthily or go all out with a character who blasts away with a shotgun like crazy. Additionally, it's an excellent game to play with a friend and execute a winning strategy. 100% recommended!

Best game in a while

You see the hours.

I had a lot of fun, I 3 starred all missions, including dlc. Smashing doors, blowing straight shrapnel into enemies. Truely a wonderful experience.

This game is an absolute disappointment.
It misses every single aspect a tactic game should have, specially a SWAT like team of characters.
The game mechanics are extremely simplistic, missing EVERY movement or action a character of this type should be able to execute. It´s terrible, and terribly boring.
Why did a team of people (the devs) got together to make a game like this and completely ignored all the obvious (and expected) actions and game mechanics the game could have. It blows my mind how nonsensical this is.
The first three missions (the only ones I played) are just kick the door down and shoot everyone right in front of you. No aiming, no covering, no tactics to implement, no nothing, just press the shoot button and which they don't overpower you.
No way to cover (as far as I know), no way to shoot from a skylight down, from a stair hole up. It's absolutely lame.
You can't see the trajectory of the grenade you'll throw, or change the direction to throw it down to a lower floor or a window. The grenades (I tried using the flashbang) can't be thrown in a single movement as opening the door, so, you open the door, everyone sees you and starts shooting at you, then you're able to throw the grenade, when it's way too late, and you're better off just shooting everyone down. It's mind numbing how poor the mechanics are, I can't stress that enough.
As far as I played there are upgrades on skills that don't seem like they'll help too much, guns with slightly different statics, which, with how primitive this game is so far, I doubt they'll add any enjoyment to the gameplay.
Don't be fooled by the theme or the look of the game, this is NOT AN ACTION TACTICS GAME, it's a very simplistic shooter, and it doesn't even do that right.
I'm trying to play this singleplayer, and believe me, it doesn't work, it's not fun and it's one of the dumbest games I've ever played in terms of mechanics and gameplay.
I thought I would be able to control several characters, and put them in strategic positions to execute an assault, but as a solo you play literally solo, one character, it's more a Rambo game than a SWAT assault, and the devices you have are not of any help.
I don't know if multiplayer would add to it, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't, as the problem is the character movement and the simplistic (or the absolute lack of) mechanics.
What a disappointment, stay away if you're looking for any kind of tactics in this game, and I'd say stay away if you're looking for a shooter, anyways.

Its definitely not like the real door kickers but it is a good spin off. I was interested in playing it due to how much it looked like Broforce which is also a really good game. I always find swat games cool like ready or not, the swat series, and now this series. I am now going to purchase the normal door kickers so peace.

The game is good for the price

Loads of hilarious fun with a pal. We like to drink and try to handle the quick reaction time needed. Haha it never works out but its always a good time.

Plays great singleplayer. Plays great co-op. Easy action with a subtle depth that keeps the game feeling fresh.

This has no follow through from the previous door Kickers game, however its just as fun.
Do not go in with the expectations of a slow tactical game, but the trailer should've told you that.

Can't beat something this snazzy for 14$.
