Just no. Don't spend even a $1 on this game. 1: you just walk a narrow path and the trophies are just right there in front of you. 2: you walk so slow that it take forever. 3. Its very pretty but the graphics are foggy and splitting.
tl;dr - Is this a great game that will keep you on the edge of your seat? No. Is it full of bugs? Yes, a lot. Are they game breaking? No, just highly annoying & unprofessional for a paid game no matter how cheap. Is it worth purchasing? Yes; however, with two stipulations: 1.) it's on sale (yes, I know that it's regularly $0.99), and you are an achievement hunter. Other than that, this is a definite pass.
First off, this feels like a student project, so I will be critiquing it as such. Please, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the feeling that I get when playing. Now, this game is chock-full of bugs. And, I mean a lot of bugs - from graphical to audio to textures to screen tearing, and probably more that I simply am forgetting despite having played through it twice not a moment ago (the second was to take screenshots for this review).
So, what's good about this game? The atmosphere is great. The god rays are ridiculously good. I'm very impressed with them. The level design is intuitive; there was never a point where I felt that I was lost. And, the achievements are extremely easy, and able to be 100% completed in about 15min. Aside from these, there really is nothing else good worth mentioning. The bugs simply far outweigh any of the few positives of this game.
So, why the recommend, you might ask? Honestly, it's an easy 100% for achievement hunters. Apart from the numerous & persistent bugs, it was somewhat enjoyable taking a break from other games with the bonus of another completed game for my profile. Is it worth $0.99? Absolutely not. It could be forgiven of a lot of its misgivings, if it were free. However, I got this on sale for $0.66. My metric for analyzing if my money is well spent is $/time. I spent $0.66 for 20 min of playtime. I did enjoy it somewhat, and I've spent far more for less time & enjoyment than this.
If the developer ever reads this, here are some recommendations for improving/fixing this game, and I will have uploaded screenshots to my profile for your perusal .
1.) Whatever that black line that cuts through horizontally in the middle of the screen it needs to be fixed ASAP!
2.) There is a white line that randomly, yet consistently, appears throughout the ground.
3.) A black zig-zag that looks like a tear in the warp appears at the beginning of the game (in both of my playthroughs).
4.) Persistent floating grass at the first bend of the road should be rectified.
5.) Many of the fences are disconnected in very disconcerting positions, and a lot of the posts are either misaligned or simply non existent.
6.) Various interactions would be a nice addition.
a) For example, an interaction with any of the achievement landmarks.
b) Instead of forcing the player to walk around the extremely long path around to the
tent, an interaction to hop the fence would have been nice.
7.) The invisible walls around the trees & bushes should be minimized.
8.) Various parts of the frozen lake move like jello.
9.) The church is missing two visible walls, yet the invisible wall is still functioning.
10.) Huge frame drop going through the field of grass before the abandoned town.
11.) There were options in the menu for subtitles & voice level, yet there were neither in the game for me.
12.) The graphics options are highly irritating. Simpler/more common screen resolutions or an auto-detect feature would be a nice addition.
13.) This is an idiosyncrasy of mine, but an option for rotating the camera using "q" & "e" would be greatly appreciated.

Very short and never very pleasing to look at. This game's visuals are highly held back by just how high the film grain is set to with no option to turn it down. There's also no great sights or things of interest at all. I generally love walking simulators, but I can't recommend this one.

Another piece of garbage that should not be allowed on Steam.
When the game starts, you find yourself walking down a road. Then you.. wait no, that's literally it. Wait, at the end of the road there's a church! Inside the church there's... nothing. Next to the church is a "small house" (according to the achievements), which looks identical to the church except the roof has been cut off.
Off in the distance you see a castle. As you get closer, you realize the castle is actually four of the church models copy+pasted next to each other. When you step inside.. wait no, you can't, because there's an invisible wall in the way.
Welp, that's the end of the game, I guess.
There was no narration, no story, no interaction, no discernable gameplay, nothing. This was clearly a low-effort asset-flip game. Avoid at all costs.
- "You play for a driver": in general, the unnecessary use of the preposition "for" can be a hint as to where the developer is from. Nothing suggests in this (so-called) game that you are a driver. You just start out somewhere in the middle of a road during wintertime and 20 minutes later you end your "journey".
- There's no time indicator as the synopsis suggests. Also, I found only one way to get to my destination.
- The game looks horrible. No, it's not because of the Unreal engine but because how it was quickly put together. You frequently get annoyed by floating grass and black horizontal lines that keep popping up from out of nowhere. The game's graphics options are too simplistic to let you find remedy for this issue. It would have been nice to switch off the annoying grain effect.
[*]Gameplay-wise you just walk until you reach your destination. I understand this is meant to be a walking sim (I'm a fan of the genre) but it would be nice to have some texts to read or use some voiceover, something the daring and bold gamers out there may call a story.
There is no need to go far to realise this is an asset flip. I thought this was common for the Unity but not for Unreal. If on sale the price can be ridiculously low and it's easy to obtain its half a dozen achievements. If increasing your library with games 100% completed is important you can get this but other than that stay away.

There is pretty much no own effort of the "developer" in this game.
+ nice soundtrack
- Most settings in the menu are broken, neither doing anything nor getting saved
- Annoying graphical errors like flicker or bars around the center of the screen, floating grass and unrealistic blur effects
- invisible walls everywhere... seriously, it seems like there is an invisible maze on this map
- my grandma in her wheelchair is faster than the game character
Sad to see such trash using the same engine as plenty of the best looking games currently available.
Horrible performance, short, I actually didn't found an ending, no dialogue or story. Graphics would be ok if the vision wouldn't be so blurry. Movement speed is also very slow.
I wish they included more than just Yes/No for recommendation options.
Yes if you want easy, quick achievements.
No if you were looking for a story, exploration, or anything to call a game. Because there is none of that.

I thought from the screenshots I was going to get some pretty shots to share but i was disappointed to see that the actual game play had a terrible grainy overlay on top of it. The path to follow is linear and you can't roam up to the top of any hills for scenery screenshots.
In the middle I had to ask myself WHY can't i walk through the snow to the tent before the fence starts? You have to walk clear to the end with no sprint and then walk back up the frozen lake to the tent. I suppose to extend the game play?
In summery.
If you want snowy scenery for screenshots with more exploration and story try Kholat instead.

To add insult to injury he didn't even bother creating his own map, instead he uploaded a copy of the demo's example one. In game options apart from switching between windowed and fullscreen are broken. There's a black line which frequently cuts through the screen, grass can be seen floating mid air, poor optimization of the snow which makes the background look grainy, invisible walls, and a thick white line which appears to paste the environment together in places, so not only did they do a copy/paste of this asset's demo map in its entirety, but they appeared to have made it worse.
There's no story, no npc's, no objectives, not even an ending so it's difficult to call this a game. This is a tech demo at the most and to be honest, not a very good one. Textures are flickering and breaking, patches of grass are floating mid-air, invisible walls everywhere, objects pop up or disappear.
Do not buy.
I thought I might like this but no. The image is way too grainy, the head bob makes me feel sick, too many glitches and artifacts. I know its cheap, and I didn't ask for a refund, but the journey wasn't fun and I can't recommend.
This game sounds simple, but at the same time, it is terrifying. It could happen to you. I like the premise, i like the soundtrack, i even like (this will shock you) the piss poor frame rate as it actually adds to the feel of the game

It's a very short "game" .....more like a short break from nasty reality. Would love it to be extended as I just relax listening to the background music as I stroll along. But for the price it's a great distraction. Time to walk again and go a different route this time and see what happens.
Forgotten land is .99 cent, certainly not a game that will break your bank, but what do you get for your ninty nine cent..
The game is empty, it's like an empty shell.. You walk from the start to the end, you find 6 locations and that's it..
The locations are empty, save for the destroyed or semi destroyed building which stands there. If the developer really wanted to make this game worthwhile, add in some story, some notes, or something..
As it stands right now, this looks like someone's tech demo, it's beautiful, poorly optimized achievement hunter game..

Please read before buying because it’s cheap and beautiful looking! - The truth is: it’s only cheap.
As much as I love the idea of an immersive calm-cold winter landscape for relaxed exploring, this game is full of very obvious bugs from the get-go and flawed: invisible walls, flat-texture-trees, terrain gaps, floating objects, bad performance even under low resolutions and low graphic settings (got well running benchmarks for similar games on the same system), vague and questionable collision... to say the least.
I’m sorry to say that even the very low price does not justify such a messy piece of game.
A user in the community HUB pointed out the assets on the Unreal Maketplace, where you can also find a video demo. The actual game is nowhere near such beauty.
If you’re looking for a snowy and/or walking experience, here some spontaneous and personal alternatives: theHunter: Call of the Wild (Medved-Taiga), Kona, Gothic 3 (Nordmar), The Long Dark, Dear Esther.
Love invisible walls? Boy oh boy, have we got a game for you! Broken menus? Yup, we got those too. A single location, absolutely no story or discernible ending or character motivation, and a list of Achievements which quite literally sum up the entirety of what you will witness in the course of the game (Barn, Tent, Cloak, Church, Frozen Lake, Abandoned House)? Check, check, check, check, check.
Tantalised yet?
The graphics are quite nice (bar the occasional stray black line through the middle of the screen), the sound effects mostly decent (even if the snow-crunching footsteps occasionally devolve into horrific tearing noises), and the music downright lovely (no great boast, though, when it's of the "library" variety).
I'm quite the fan / forgiver / champion of "walking simulators", but even I can't recommend this one. Sole saving grace: the ludicrously low price.
Verdict: 4/10.
This is garbage.
Nevermind that it is a walking sim where there's nothing to do at all. I knew that beforehand, But on top of that, graphics quality is horrible. I tried different resolutions and quality settings, and all I got was the same sh*t in different sizes.
I am literally lost for words, all I can say is that this is just garbage.
If you want a walking sim through the snow, take a look at "Bottle". It's pointless too, but at least the graphics are way better.
This game looks really nice and would be amazing if it had a proper story. You basically just walk. I reached the point of where there's 4 buildings, I walk over them and there is nothing, don't see the point of buying this. The creator of this game is talented but this game is not even worth it.

This is a sad excuse for a game, or walking sim.
Music is good but anything else is a total drop of batshit.
Only if you like slow walking like in the old Dressmann-commercials and finding invisible walls, invisible walls and.... more invisible walls, then this can be your cup of coffee.
Where to Start... Lets give this a whirl.
1. This is a walking simulator with Random Locations you come across unlocking achievements. I finished it in 14 minutes..
2. It feels like a great start to something.. but thats where it ends..... it has Less content than a default Unreal Project almost.. Sure the snow and music and Effects sound great, thats a positive, Less Content than opening a Windows menu unfortunately.. and from memory these are just in store items you get Unreal..
3. Walk forward. get achievements.. win.. its probably a whole.. 20 minutes if that in its current state. not cause of content but because of your walk speed.. I didn't get all achievements, because of strange can't move past certain buildings, but wasn't even properly mapped, so managed to get myself.. stuck.. between 2 stop walking blocks..
4. As good as it looks, and feels.. the trailer has the whole amount of content in it basically..
5. Least I got it for free cause of Steam cards.. won't complain really..
6. Great start, to an incomplete project.. that has good sound, and effects.. Tanks in spots for FPS.. (sure my PC is average at best, You can Bring up any UE4 Commands because they haven't even disabled default UE4 stuff, I hope they add more to this, would I recommend if your paying for it not from cards or free.. not really no.. but From my view, I got it Free.. so.. I guess i can recommend this 30 second walking simulator.. a Game.. Not at all, no dialog, or anything really.
